This is so timely! My 49th birthday was in March and I wasn't interested in celebrating. At work there's monthly email sent to everyone with birthdays (Month/Day) and in January I had already asked to be sure my name wasn't on the distribution in March. Thankfully my request was honored and it (mostly) went unnoticed.

I quit dating a guy because he scratched himself. The last straw was when he reached up, underneath his shorts, and scratched. I stood up and said "you gotta go". Never went out with him again.

I'm sorry your mom's initial diagnosis was confirmed. Last year my mom received similar news. She had a lumpectomy followed by several (eight?) weeks of radiation. The weekly / bi-weekly treatment tired her out, but she was able to keep a relatively simple schedule otherwise. She's in her 70s and retired, so at least she…

@junelove89 Ha, yeah, I don't see me doing it, 'specially if it voids a warranty or anything.

I have heard people who have an iPhone LOVE their iPhones. I heard that you can't replace your own battery though, is that true?
-
I'd love to, but it doesn't seem possible. It no longer accepts updates. I think because it's from 2011? I got a new battery off eBay last year for $3.25 which got me through 2015. The phone actually gets hot to the touch if I'm on it too long.

...and there you go. :)

Happy Birthday! I usually plan ahead during the week so that I can indulge on my birthday. That way I even though I'll probably go over my count, the overage isn't as significant as it could be. IOW, it's not a regular day PLUS birthday celebration on top, it's just a splurge over normal target. Oh, and I log it no matter…

Interesting! I have the opposite -- my blood work shows elevation of potassium. I was asked if I drank a lot of bottled water. Um, no, not at all. We have excellent tap water. Meanwhile I don't have a clue why my potassium level is high, it's sure not from eating bananas. Sorry OP.

Let me send you my address -- I'll take them off your hands! :p According to the calorie listings, you can eat more Trefoils for fewer calories. But really? You picked the right ones: Peanut Butter Patties FTW.

+1 on buying the flax seed already milled/ground I usually add several tablespoons to things like pasta sauce, meatballs, meatloaf, and the like.

+1 Agree completely and it really does help. ETA: Just finished reading your 2013 "phase 1" post. You have a way with words; I really enjoyed it.

Excellent work! I like that you had a plan and kept at it.

...which is wild, considering Oreos are so agreeable to being pulled apart! whee!

A friend sent me Belgian chocolate-covered Oreos. Incredible. I've also had fudge-covered mint Oreos. Fab! But if you're asking about what kind you can buy easily at the grocery store? I go for Double Stuf. Let me know when you're going; I'll meet you at your house. :)

Niiice! And agree -- Dad's from Texarkana. In fact I remember him crumbling up his cornbread into a glass of milk and eating the concoction with a long-handled teaspoon. Ordinarily I'd just say teaspoon, not to be confused with, you know, a measuring teaspoon. Oh, and sliced cantaloupe is salted & peppered. Salt on…

+1 I don't wear sleeveless shirts. Every woman I know of every size imaginable wears sleeveless shirts in the summer. I just feel awkward and weird each time I try to go without sleeves. After years of this, now I don't even bother buying "just that one top, 'cuz it's so cute". It'll just stay in a drawer. Just do you. :)…
