I can walk faster than I can run too! I look at it this way: I'm learning to run. First I need to be able to run for 30 minutes, which is what this program does for you. I'll work on speed after my body is used to running for lengths of time.

I'm too busy to finish for another few weeks but you are great inspiration for me to stick with it and come back to it when things slow down for me!! You had me running outside on Easter when the gym was closed because you'd done it, and since then I really prefer to do it outside! Who knew? ;) Best part is you graduated…

You'll get it! Sounds like you are keeping positive. Keep at it and imagine all the fun you'll have at 5ks!!

It works in my underpants!!! I wore spandex undies to a rock concert and stuck it in there. you can totally see the graph shows exactly how excited I was by which parts of the show!! I got a number I feel like is reasonable and probably pretty accurate. I'm selling my fitbit because this is better. Anyone want to buy a…

Congratulations!! How good does that victory feel?

Its not uncomfortable. It just highlights my arm flab. Also its huge and looks like an mp3 player which is a weird thing to wear to a bar. I just want to hide it but still have the benefit of its accuracy. Wondered if anyone here had any tips/tricks for me. Maybe ill have yo do some experiments.

1200 for me is starving. It is unpleasant and I go off the plan and eat whatever and stop exercising entirely in no time. If I'm suffering I'm not losing weight, im eating cinnamon rolls. I got a Bodymedia Fit armband which monitors how many calories I burn in a day and I eat 1,000 less than that. Most days I burn around…

Weeee heee! I did it!!! LOL it wasn't perfect...... I did good and I was feeling mostly fine but around 8 minutes my heart rate was pretty high so I decided to stay there till 10 mins and if I haven't pushed through it I'd lower my speed. ... I kept repeating to myself, "It's a mental hurdle. It's a mental hurdle. It's a…

I'm going to yoga class right now and I'm feeling good. I mean to do w5d3 afterwards but only if I'm feeling energetic. It's scary but I'm sort of thrilled by the scaryness of it after breezing through w5d2 yesterday. I know youre supposed to rest but my schedule wont give me time to do it for days and I'm feeling fine.…

Im 5'10" and today im about 180 lbs. I have a Bodymedia Fit, which I recommend to anyone just because it tells you what number calories you burned in a day. It's meant to be pretty accurate and its so worth knowing that number. So its not guesswork what you're doing. 1200 calories was never enough for me, and with the BMF…

I just did w5d2 and quite frankly that went a lot easier than I'd imagined. I'm psyched to take a stab at the dreaded w5d3. Everything I read from everyone who's been there tells me I can do it. So I'm looking forward to the part where I actually do it successfully. I wouldn't believe if today hadn't felt so easy. Well not…

I did the same workout today! I can't say I had the same results but I was surprised I was able to do it with no pain and no struggle. This C25K thing really works. I'm looking forward to the next lesson but still a little scared for w5d3.
-
w5d3 scares me.

I got busy with work and couldn't get back to doing C25K until today so I've just done the w4d3. I was a little nervous after so many days off but I told myself I'd do fine if I kept my pace slow, Oh right, that thing about how you should be able to carry on a conversation. Also I did it first. I've been doing other stuff…

I get about 6:30 a night to feel rested. I would have sworn I get more. Also the armband sometimes thinks I'm asleep when I lay down and watch TV. I find myself sitting up and watching more often since I got the armband because I like my numbers to come out right :) Mine works mostly just fine in any position.
-
LOL @ the turtles ;) I actually can walk faster than I can run but I suppose that didn't come in 4 weeks time either.
-
I actually rested 2 days and then did w4d2 at a slower pace today. It sort of clicked for me as I was jogging without suffering... oh.. thats how you're meant to do this. The slower pace was just what I needed. 5 mins still felt like a long time and the short rest between intervals still seemed short, but it was do-able…

Do it! :) Wear the armband and don't drink. Offer to be the designated driver. I've only just discovered that going out burns calories. Just parking the car and walking to the bar burns calories. I live alone with cats and I need to socialize with people, so this is a great discovery for me. In fact the only thing that…

Ive never had any success on 1200 calorie diets. I lost 6 lbs onnutrisystem and then nit another one after thst despite being faithful to the plan for months before I got so hungry I started binge eating. Weight watchers had me starving too even though I lost about 12 lbs on thst before I went off it causr I was hungry and…

Thanks everyone for your experiences and encouragement! Glad im using MFP! I feel less achey now and im lookig forward to trying to make it through tomorrows lesson. I will slow down! I guess we build endurance first.

w3d1 was hard for me but I breezed through d2 and d3. I think some days my body is more willing to run than others. I did one of the 5 min runs. That should feel like progress. I dont want to get discouraged. My speed is already slower than any of you. Im gonna do yoga right now. I think my body wants stretching.

I had to google how to breathe! In through both mouth and nose. You need all the o2 you can get. Then exhale completely before taking another breath. Focusing on breathing also seems to make the time go by faster than focusing on the clock for me.

Im a busty DDD gal and sports bras in my size cost $70+ and just smash em flat. I use bali satin tracings minimizers for activity. A brand new one is around $20 and provides great structural support. Better than any sports bra ive ever tried.

I love this topic! Thanks for posting it :) I've been doing strengthening exercises on my legs to (hopefully) heal a knee injury and I have almost no pain at all anymore and I can walk up and down stairs comfortably again. I'm also doing C25K (with a knee brace) and I'm surprised I'm doing 3 min jogging intervals already.…

I just finished Week 3 (treadmill) and I can't even believe it got so much easier by d3! I didn't think I was going to make it through the first 3 min run on day 1. I am admittedly running pretty slow but they say to worry about speed later. I had to google how to breathe. They say in through both nose and mouth and exhale…

I've been watching old seasons on Hulu for inspiration and I'm surprised at how whenever I tell people they're so quick to jump down my throat and say "ITS NOT REAL!" "ITS UNHEALTHY!" "THEY GAIN IT ALL BACK!" Of course that's true, but they really do lose the weight. From what I've gathered watching the reruns, they eat…

I once did Nutrisystem for 2 mos and didn't lose any weight at all. Don't ask me how but that's what happened. Then I gave up. Because I was hungry. This time around I got a BodyMedia Fit which is a monitor you wear on your arm that is supposed to accurately measure how many calories you are really burning. I've had it for…

I also did a lot of research before buying a calorie meter device and picked the BMF because it is meant to be the most accurate of them all. I've heard people give conflicting accounts of this from their own personal experience, but as I understand it it is mostly accurate for most activities except for weight lifting and…

I really like the upgrade a lot! Much improved but my upload fails more than it works and I still end up having to get a computer up and running and sync through a cable. I hope they keep improving this technology. I didn't realize it wasn't quite there yet when I bought the device but I still like seeing the graphs enough…

I was ready to give Jillian a try but then, if I'm remembering right, it was 4x more expensive. I can't believe for that extra money you get an account that doesn't sync with the others. I've been watching old Biggest Losers on Hulu for some motivation and I imagine I wouldn't respond well to her techniques in real life. I…
