Great job losing 224 lbs! And good for you for wanting to get a handle on it after gaining 45 back...you're still ahead and this is just a bump in the road. The first thing to start doing is get honest with yourself about what you're eating. Weigh, measure and log everything you eat and drink, and face the facts. Next,…

Ditto. I don't log housework and gardening as exercise, it's just normal activity. But there are no hard and fast rules, so if you want to eat back your housework calories - do it. Then see what the scale does. Frankly if you're trying to keep your base at 1200 and then eating back a couple of hundred housework calories a…

None of what you've described is what I would call "being hit on". Flirted with, sure maybe. But being hit on is when they actually attempt to make plans with you. As for smiles, winks, admiring looks - enjoy the attention, because someday it'll end and you'll miss it dearly.

Every moisturizer/sunscreen I ever used made me break out, except Usana's line of skin care. Love the cleanser and masques too. http://shop.usana.com/shop/cart/ProductDetails?ProductID=351.010101

What's their source? Publicists? Guessing? You can't believe everything you see on the innerweb. Some are probably accurate because many female celebs are underweight, but I'll best most are just estimates. For instance, it says Angelina Jolie is 5'8" and weighs 137. I can just as easily pull up any number of pages that…

The feeder/feedee fetish dynamic is very weird and interesting. The feeder is almost always a man, and the feedee is a woman. He gets sexual gratification from seeing her get bigger (not just her being a big woman, but actually *gaining* in size) as the growing process is integral to his fantasy. I've seen internet ads…

Okay so, if you eat 1200 calories a day for 6 days a week that's 7,200 calories. Then you have one day of 5,000 calories, for a total weekly average calorie intake of 1,743 calories per day (7200 + 5000 divided by 7) and you haven't lost or gained in a year. Congratulations, you've found your maintenance level. If I were…

From my own experience and reading this board, a lot of people were in denial about how big they really were. Then they see a candid picture of themselves, or those "temporary" fat clothes start getting too tight, or they just see a number on the scale that they never thought they'd see and it all comes crashing down. I…

You'll probably get some good suggestions if you open your diary. My suggestion would be to save some calories for a light before-bed snack, but I don't know what or how much you're eating so it may be that you're too low on calories overall, or you're eating too many calorie-dense foods during the day and just need to…

I've been dry brushing as a preventative measure, especially since I'm older and my skin isn't as elastic. I don't know if it'll work (so far so good, but I've only lost 20 lbs) but it sure feels nice and my skin's very soft and smooth now, so there are benefits even if it doesn't help with the loose skin.

There are just certain people in the world (mostly young women, sorry) who act like every setback, no matter how trivial, is a Major Life Crisis. It's not even that they necessarily even truly feel that way, but raising the OMG!!! alarm gets them attention and sympathy and maybe they think it makes them more interesting.…

A few days ago I purchased Body By You (the women's version of You Are Your Own Gym) and just leafed through it so far...I'm a little freaked out that there are quite a few "hanging off a door" exercises. I'm really not sure my doors can take it. Other than that it seems doable - there are easy to hard versions of the…

Is 1,754 your TDEE - Total Daily Energy Expenditure, or your BMR - Base Metabolic Rate? TDEE is what you would eat to maintain your current weight, and BMR is what you would eat if you laid in bed all day. For weight loss you should try to eat 80% to 85% of your TDEE, and eat back exercise calories. Be sure to look at…

Yep. Without a corset she's still really skinny, but not freakish. n/m someone beat me to it.

Mine would involve pizza and cheesecake.

Not one single pathologist has ever said they found "clinging fat" (or, as was the claim a few years ago by cleanse-sellers: "undigested red meat") in anyone's intestines, ever. It's just more BS meant to separate you from your money. Snake oil for the 21st century.

I've never heard of anyone gaining 40 lbs in 5 months due to not eating enough calories. Stalling out, yes. Gaining a significant amount, no. Also, I believe you mean eat 15% to 20% less than your TDEE, not your BMR. I'd like to see the OP's diary, too. Something's not right.

There have been several posts on here by people who are just starting out but are already worrying that they're not going to like the end results. A few weeks ago there was a woman who weighed something like 240 and had never worked out but was thinking of starting, but was already fretting about getting "too muscular"…

I just remind myself that next year is going to come regardless of what I do, so where do I want to be when 2014 gets here? Do I want to weigh less than I do now, or weigh the same? Or how about another 10 or 15 lbs bigger like most years? It's my choice, a decision that I have to make every day. As for the frustration…

No, it's wrong. The measurement below your boobs in inches is your band size. Then for the cup size it's a letter for every inch your boobs are over your band size. 1 inch = A cup, 2 inches = B cup, 3 Inches = C cup, etc. This was all discussed at length on this recent thread:…

Greek salad: English or Persian cucumber (no peeling that way), tomato and sweet onion with Greek dressing. Even the regular non diet Greek dressings usually only run about 50 calories for a tablespoon and they're strong-tasting so you don't need much.

Those people are very hungry, and most won't be able to sustain that calorie level for long before giving up. They're also more likely to have binges. I've been that person many times and have always given up because the suffering outweighed the benefits. I also quickly gained back whatever I'd lost. Just by upping my…

I wouldn't call it a "plateau" but when I'm stuck going up, down, up, down at the same 2 lbs for a couple of weeks I eat something high in fat and the scale will finally drop the next morning. Last time it was two avocados (45 grams of fat). Other times it might be a pint of ice cream (52 grams of fat). Obviously I can't…

They have calories, so of course you need to log them. Why wouldn't you?

...and that's why online TDEE estimators are just a ballpark figure. Each of us is an individual and there's usually experimentation involved in trying to find the calorie level that works best for our goals. As for efficient metabolisms, maybe one like mine that very efficiently converts food into fat, and holds onto that…

If you always lose pounds while taking a break from exercise, it doesn't mean you'll lose the same pounds if you don't exercise at all. It may the combination of exercise and breaks that signals your body to shed fat.

Go to a nice department store or lingerie shop and be professionally measured - they say that 80% of women are wearing the wrong size. My understanding is that the band size is the circumference around the chest under the breasts (i.e. 34, 36, 38, 40) and then the cup size is determined by measuring the circumference…

I'm not sure I'd jump to the conclusion that they're rejecting you because of your extra weight...I worked at an office once where the cliques were nasty to me and I wasn't fat at all. They were just biotches that loved drama, like mean girls from high school that never grew up. Be the better person, kill 'em with kindness…
