Well, you can log cardio on the exercise tab. You don't get to earn calories for weight training but you can enter them in manually if you calculate them elsewhere like on WebMD's Fit-O-Meter

I'm NOT a doctor but her is my take. It's kind of like putting gas in the tank... The calories are there to burn, either you burn them immediately or you store them as fat. I hear you! I'm off gluten, nightshade and a few other things due to RA. Of course my daughter and hubby aren't.
