The reason he lost the weight because he ate less calories and those calories happened to come from sugar. Just log your foods accurately at a calorie deficit and you'll lose weight. There's nothing special about sugar you do not need to cut things out to lose weight. I eat a lot of fruit so my sugar count hits 90-100grams…

Well that's at least 300 calories (probably more) so if you want to know how much you're eating you need to log it.

Stomachs don't shrink other than via surgery. I suggest going to see a doctor or medical professional about your issues

I wasn't logging till last week so don't bother checking the diary So how do you know how many calories you were eating? I'd put money on you eating more than you think that is far more likely than a medical issue. Without an accurate diary we can't offer specific advice but you need to weigh all solids measure all liquids…

Meal timing is entirely personal preference and has no bearing on weightloss. As long as you are getting sufficient nutrition eat your calories when it works best for you

You can't spot reduce no matter what diet or exercise you do. The fat will just come off where it wants to. No matter what your eating plan the basics of losing weight are you are using more energy than you take in. You don't need special fad diets like low carb or anything. You just need to eat normal foods and know how…

Thats your problem you're eating more than you think Cups are not an accurate way to measure solids as they measure volume. You need to weigh things. Go buy some scales they're cheap. Get your tracking accurate and problem solved http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1234699-logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide

Only if you count being miserable as healthy ^^^^ Listen to the man above

Weight fluctuates except it and move on

Most of that would be water weight and would happen on any new diet. How about looking at something sustainable long term. Good luck http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1175494-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants?hl=guide+to+sexypants&page=1#posts-18361594

Your body needs sugar. Cutting out sugar is well impossible as its in most things. Unless you have a medical condition there is no real need to limit it. There is a lot of scaremongering around sugar with some very questionable science. Sugary sweets such as chocolate will be around for ever. Yes you may have psychological…

The number of the scales can be useful it's data that can tell you of progress but it's not set in stone and varies for many reasons and not all of them due to your actual weight. Part of the issue you seem to have is you seem to think that the scales is the only measure of progress. I measure progress in many ways from…

You wont gain muscle if your still eating at a deficit to lose weight. Sufficient protein will help you maintain what you have which try and get the majority from real food and supplement with protein powder if needed

Fields are where they grow veggies though.

That is just fantastic what you've acheived

I think weight loss isn't really an issue at present. She just needs to eat and heal. Broken bones are painful (i've broken enough of them) so she just needs some food she can eat. Then in a few days she can look at what she is going to do long term. Personally I'd bring her the comfort food of her choice. If someone…

Soya does not effect your hormones it's a myth. Soy has in it phytoestrogens known as plant oestrogen. People have leapt onto the name and some suspect studies involving rats the only relationship it has to the hormone oestrogen is a similar name. As a 15 year Vegan soy is one of the main stays of my diet I have yet to…

It all depends what you're going to do with it? If you're going to beat yourself around the head with a pineapple that's really not good and could hurt. if though your just going to eat it and you have no medical conditions that mean you have to limit sugar intake. Go eat fruit it's lovely and full of good stuff.

It's Not

I know OP you may have left this thread in frustration I do hope you read this. You've let your frustration with people disagreeing with you cloud what they are saying. Have a look at the tickers of those people saying those things. They have lost huge amounts of weight and have lots of experience I'll put into context…

Either you or the place you've quoted that from has forgot the important part which is those are discretionary part of your diet which is above the normal amount you need. It's interesting that all the anti sugar brigade always forget the discretionary bit ;-) This is directly from the AHA 'The American Heart Association…

What do you mean by 'Right' Frequency. Right frequency for what? Health, weightloss or when you can next find a mammoth to eat? There are many things that we evolved or adapted to do in order to survive as a species that does not mean they are applicable to 21st century life. In the same way the abacus has fallen to the…

I'd stop worry about your roommate and worry about yourself. That is not enough to sisatain a 6ft 1 man. You will not be getting enough of the nutrients your body needs and you will also lose a lot of muscle mass. Eat some food please. I eat over 2000 calories and still lose weight. Have a look at the links…

It was one weekend. You enjoyed it. It's life there will be other weekends that you'll enjoy as well (as there should be). You just carry on with your goals the following days.
-
How about eating some of the foods you love? No food is bad or good they all offer something. How about going for a balanced diet with a reasonable calorie goal. You really don't need to make yourself suffer
-
Are you going to eat that for the rest of your life? How about just eating what you normally would but less of it? Have a look at the sexypants link posted above. You really don't need to starve or suffer to lose weight
-
What do you define as a healthy food? Food is just food it can all help you reach your Macro/micro/calorie goals. Part of the problem IMO is this continual defining of foods as healthy and unhealthy. Some people define fruit as unhealthy because of the sugar content. Others define meat as unhealthy. Others define High fat…

So your complaining that MFP is telling you what you are doing could damage your health long term. Hmmm. If you disagree ignore it but MFP are covering themselves I'm sure if they didn't post that someone else would complain that MFP were encouraging EDs. MFP is a free to use you are not forced to use it. If you do use it…
