You want squat stands or a power rack. What's your budget?
-
Put oil or butter on everything. Drink whole milk. I'm 43, 5'10 and only gained 3-4 pounds (~166-170lbs) eating ~3K calories a day.

??? Bench press or Squat Rack?

Recomp takes time. If your weight is stable and you are getting at least 150g protein, keep eating like you are. I would find a "tried and true" hypertrophy program you think you'd like and stick to it for at least 3 months. Take pictures (flexed, not pumped, and relaxed in the same lighting and location) to track progress.

^yes, great group. I would eat at least 150 g protein, 50-60g fat, and the rest carbs. I'm 5'10", when I was cutting from 170 to 160 I ate 2000 calories.
-
^agreed If nothing else, you could hire @SideSteel just for programming based on your goals and what you have available.

I got 945 last June at 163. That was my first meet, had to withdraw from a recent meet and decided to bulk up to the June 2017 meet. I may cut back to 165 after that.
-
I'm bulking but no cutting soon. Want 1000lbs in June and I'm ~17lbs under the 185lb weight class now.
-
3 or 6 workouts per week? I'm curious how many days and/or hours you want to lift.
-
My 43 year old knees love them, and I squat wide, pull sumo.

1) You can. Eat calorie dense food (Spoonfuls of peanut butter, nuts, avacado, nothing light or low fat). 2) You will only gain fat if your reduction in cardio nets a calorie surplus. Congrats on your recovery and good luck with your goals.
-
I would consider dropping 5 or 10 or pounds and possibly only 3x5 the first session or 2. Your second week back, be right back where you left off before holiday.
-
^Does your programming not have a ramping week following a deload?
-
I would consider the holidays your deload and then ramp back up the week back.

Up 3 pounds since the start of this thread, about 6 pounds in the last 3 months.

1st didn't look parallel based on thigh angle, 2nd was better/deeper but still I think It'd be shallow in the stricter feds.

@ryry_ Why not get surgery? A torn labrum will not heal. I had labrum (Bankroft and SLAP) and rotator cuff surgery 2 years ago, at 41 years old (which is beyond the Standard Care Practice age of 40), and made 100% recovery. The only thing I know about AC I just read here:…

Looks pretty good Amy. Bar position is low, not high, so it is more difficult (unnatural) to stay upright and keep a straight bar path. You looked strong doing those and bar speed was pretty consistent. Hopefully @SideSteel will chime in and you can add weight with confidence.

I did Medifast about 4 years ago and have kept the weight off. Only did it for about 4 months and lost ~40lbs. My only regret was/is not strength training at the time. I lost a lot of muscle. Knowing what I know now, if I had to do it over again I would strength train and supplement medifast meals with protein shakes. I…

^"RPE ... practice and experience. " Yes. I've been trying to get the hang of an auto regulated RPE training method for 2 years. And I'd say yes to your 50lb then 75lb chins. That approach is similar to drop sets (1 top weight working set and then reduce weight for subsequent working sets). I'm not that familiar with the…

I got these:

I squatted in walmart chucks and barefoot for years, resisted getting squat shoes. I love my squat shoes and regret not getting them sooner. Hitting depth is significantly is easier. I think I'm 5-10 lbs stronger but haven't done a proper taper and competition.

Up about a pound. Have decided I won't be cutting before June '17 meet, will go up a weight class. Hoping to be a relatively lean 175-180 for meet.
-
In. I'll be doing more of a hypertrophy routine for a few months. Currently weigh ~163. I'll bulk slowly and cut eventually back to below 165 for PL Meet in June.
