Really nice work. You look great!

Fan-effing-tastic! You look amazing and I'm totally inspired. :)

This post almost brought me to tears. Congrats on all your amazing achievements. xoxo

This is what happens to me a lot, too – though it happens with 4-5 pounds rather than 8-10. ;) Either way, I believe in diligence and patience when it comes to doing this. Diligence so that you continue doing all the good things you set out to do whether the scale reflects that effort or not, and patience so that you can…

What she said, totally. You should see my weight loss graph – it's all over the place. I have been going through more than two weeks of stalling. It happens. Just keep doing what you're doing, and it will come off – but remember, it's not a race, either. We must be diligent and patient!

That's pretty much what I do – I try to watch the macros but mainly worry about calories. I've been doing it since May and have lost over 70 pounds. I am always having some sort of treat or another. I'm probably losing more slowly this way, but it's definitely completely sustainable, which is what I am looking for. I make…

I absolutely loved this post. It's great to hear that just about all the things that I believe in and do myself in the losing phase really can and do work. You're a real inspiration, thank you!

It really sounds like it's just not a good idea for you right now. That doesn't mean it won't be in the future, but for now do what some of the others have suggested – there are so many great, free resources on the internet. There are videos, workout plans, etc. Personally I love body weight exercise, which gets your heart…

Awesome story! Great to get it done while you're young, too! Keep it up. :)

LOVE everything you said, and second it. :)

I felt that I had developed what felt like an addiction to fast food there for a while. It was a little scary! Once I started here on MFP I still had it once in a while, but always logged it like I do everything else. Eventually I decided to avoid getting it at all for while, mainly to break what I felt was a compulsion.…

I am totally NOT a morning person and find that working out after work and a small meal works really well for me. During the week I do that once or twice and then on weekends the issue is moot and so I try to get good workouts in both Saturday and Sunday. But anyway, I just set my mind (and my partner's) that I am going to…

Yep, It can be a challenge. I take walks on my lunch breaks most days, even in the cold. I'm fortunate that there is a space in the basement at work that I have been allowed to use for exercise, so that really helps. I just bring exercise clothing along and change into it. I guess after a few months I have grown to see…

I've lost just over 70 pounds since May 2014. :) Lots to go, but pleased with the progress!
-
Did you mean "when you can't see your bellybutton"? I have that body shape but I have to lose some more before I'll be seeing it again without digging around first. ;) I'm getting there, though!
-
My gosh, you looked SO SAD in your starting photo. Congrats on a great achievement – healthy and happy and gorgeous! Very inspiring indeed. :)

LOVE every bit of this. You are my hero!

I've got 250+, logging food every day.
-
Today I'm having "a day" – my body wants to eat ALL the food. I'm not going totally gonzo, but I have already eaten more cookies than I should have. Even on "off" days, I log everything. I feel I owe that to myself and the hard work I have done so far. It keeps me honest and gives me a little control on a day when I don't…

I gave it up for a few reasons. One, I was sick of spending so much money on it (we went through a lot in our household) and having all those bottles and cans to return to the store. Two, I also prefer not to drink or eat artificial sweeteners (I also try to avoid things like high fructose corn syrup). Three, once I got…

That's a good strategy! I myself love pizza more than many things, and I also happened to just post about a revelatory homemade pizza the other day. a 12" thin crust pizza for around 850 calories. Works for me, I can eat the whole thing! Yay! Read it here: What, pizza?

I had been wanting to get the Charge HR when it came out, but before it did I found out about the Misfit Flash – it was way cheaper and had many of the same features (though no HR). I got it on sale at Amazon for $25 and I LOVE IT. Looks-wise it reminds me of a Swatch watch which is right up my alley. It also has a…

Totally this. I wish folks would get past the pairing of the idea of "cheating" with food and eating. Fit it into your day when you are able! I eat and drink all kinds of stuff. Have a look at my diary if you wish – I've lost over 70 pounds doing so. Good luck!

I would like to echo the fact that one meal is not going to blow all your hard work. Ideally all your hard work is an effort toward a healthier way of life entirely, so looking at the big picture rather than one meal here or there. But since you're asking and if I was worried about it, I'd try to go heavy on veggies and…

I wouldn't worry too much about too many things when you're starting out. Try to stick to logging your food and your calorie allotment at first if the macros seem too overwhelming. After 8 months I am still not quite hitting them, but have managed to lose over 70 pounds.
-
I have lost over 70 pounds (with lots more to go!), and I am a daily weigher. It helps keep me on track and in control, and now I've done it enough that the numbers have become mere data to me – they are not the be all end all to my day. Like Burghaus said, you can then see the trends of your loss and become aware of how…

Just another person who started running in public at 320 lbs+ here. Yeah, I guess it can feel embarrassing, but I'm over it. The way I see it, I'm doing something good for myself and it is totally FOR MYSELF. Everyone else can really suck it as far as I'm concerned, especially the "haters" and "jokers" who obviously don't…

You are fabulous! Look at you!!!!

Hi Ben, big congrats! You must feel great! I have 220+ pounds to lose total, and have dropped 70 so far as of today – would love to be friends and cheer each other on. How has maintenance been so far?

This is pretty much how I think of it as well. :)
