It depends. I work in a restaurant and so on nights that I'm working I can't eat until around 9:30 or 10pm. These nights it's usually something light, I'll have a big lunch instead, or I hope to have extra calories b/c I'll end up having a slice of pizza (I used to devour 1/2+ a pizza regularly). When I'm at home dinner is…

On a beach in Rockport MA, too long ago. I think my son was almost 1 and is now 3.5 years. I should probably update.

Also, if I'm eating something that's multi-colored (like M&Ms) I sort them first and eat them based on how many I have of each color (least always goes first and if I have the same amount in two colors they get saved til the end and eaten together in twos).

I eat food in even numbers (i.e. 8 pretzels, 16 almonds, etc.) I know it's a "bit" OCD. My only exception being when it's a one piece type thing like steak. I think it all started with ice cubes actually. If a serving size is an oddnumbr I'll either go up or down one just to make it even. I have a friend who won't eat the…

I eat this almost every morning- Chobani Greek yogurt (I try to switch up the flavors) and coffee. Sometimes I throw in a slice of toast too. I LOVE Chobani yogurt! Definitely helps my to last through lunch.

I know this topic was originally posted several months ago, but I'll just let you kno that I bought the DVD at target and I really enjoy doing it. I've only done it a few times now, but I can feel the burn for sure. I like the way Mandy talks to you as if you're in the room and she's honest- yes it's true, we are doing…

Without being a doctor myself, I do have to agree with what the previous posters have written. I don't think you're eating enough calories. Remember that calories are not intrinsically bad, calories are fuel for your body. And it looks like many of your calories are coming from good sources most of the time. You want to…

The first thing I thought of when reading this had to do with babies. I remembered that after having my son, the doctors made sure to tell me not to give him just plain water and that it can have lethal consequences for babies. And after reading the responses it makes sense. I'm sure babies have a very low tolerance for…

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but www.runningintheusa.com has a race search feature in which you can seach by location and type of race. Also, here in Cambridge they do an Oktoberfest 5k and a Yule 5k with yummy craft beer at the end!

Hello Everyone. My name is Laura. I live and work in Cambridge. I work full time as a restaurant manager and I'm a very busy momma to one little boy. I love the MFP Community and am now so happy I can look to a local community too! I'm glad that we can use each other to keep ourselves accountable, and maybe to meet up or…

Along the same lines as the "Twinkie Diet". No really. A nutrition professor went on a 10 week "Convenience Store" diet eating twinkies, Doritos and the such and lost 27 lbs. His point was that counting calories has a lot to do with losing weight. However, it is NOT healthy and is not advocated to be. I thought it was…

I agree. This was one of my first thoughts too. I believe it's probably a bit of both. Models now ARE often times too thin, but real women DO also need to take care of themselves and their bodies to be healthy. I think that HEALTHY is really what everyone ought to strive for.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have found all my excuses and have exhausted them. If I can't get to the gym (lack of babysitter) then I've got my new Kinect (and Your Shape Fitness) which is great. And I too have an insatiable sweet tooth, but I'm finding new healthier (or at least better) options. I've learned that…

I think this is pretty cool. I work in a brewery and would love to see what comes of this. I mean I think he should be fine, I read about a doctor who went on a "Twinkie Diet" where he only ate Little Debbies and Hostess snacks.

Thanks guys! That's helpful and good to know that I'm not alone out there in the restaurant biz.

I've used fat free sour cream and add sweet pickle to it and it's been yummy

Mine used to grunt a lot around that age. Now he plays with his monster toys and growls and roars like his daddy! So cute

I work in a restaurant so there is food around all day and sometimes it can get slow. So what I've started doing is portioning out healthy foods from home and when the french fries start calling my name I'll dip into my bag and grab one of my healthy options. And I try to drink water always- if I start to feel hungry I'll…

I'm also interested, but I'd love to see that banana chocolate chip recipe too!

I recently found this blog/article with tips on giving up sugar. Are you looking to just give up refined sugars, or are you going to give up items like honey as well? This deals with giving up refined sugar... http://www.highonhealth.org/how-to-give-up-sugar/
