The best tasting chocolate shake I've tried is Jillian Michael's believe it or not. I think the real key is like others have said, what you mix it with. I'm low carb so I use 2 scoops, cup of ice, 8 oz water and a splash of half and half. And I always use a blender. First time I drank it I thought I was drinking a choc…

Take it. It helps you feel better for one thing, and does help keeping carbs from triggering insulin, which helps you not to gain. I would advise you to get it from a doctor directly, and not put it on insurance, unless you want to see your rates possibly go up-precursor to diabetes. It can make you have stomach issues for…

Oh I get it too.......I self-medicate not with alcohol, drugs, sex or some other socially abhorrent behavior, but with food....glorious carb-filled food. Something that humans HAVE to have in order to live. I so agree that those who think its all about A + B = C is less calories + more activity = weight loss and eternal…

Aleena, I really hope you're being sarcastic. In case you're not, it is intellectually dishonest to blame restaurants for selling Americans what we want. There are some, maybe many, who can eat that food and not gain weight. Instead of focusing on supply, focus on demand. That's where the problem and solution lay.

Well first, she asked for protein breakfast ideas, not carb ideas. Oatmeal has 27 carbs per cup and is ranked 49 out of 100 on the glycemic scale. Why would you want to trigger an insulin reaction on your very first meal of the day? Insulin in the bloodstream causes our body to store energy as fat rather than burn it. Why…

Yes it does, unfortunately.

Try half a baked potato, plain. It helps trigger the message to your brain to sleep.

Almonds, lean ham, egg whites, boiled eggs, cheese, protein powder, turkey, vienna sausages.........

I know you said you're not crazy about eggs, but egg whites are a pure protein food source. Try mixing with spinach and feta. I also agree about the low carb protein shakes. I use vanilla powder and toss in spinach, ice cubes, water, a little half and half-low carb-and sometimes a little bit of apple or other low sugar…

Thank you Accountant. Oatmeal is not good for breakfast. Stick to protein.

Brown sugar? Really? Leave that out next time.

OMG! You are eating almost nothing but carbs. No wonder you are hungry. You need to start your day with protein and veggies. No simple carbs. Cut the carbs out-simple ones-at least. Tuna and salads. Raw veggies. Lean protein. Cut out the work outs every day. 2-3/week is more than suffieicient. No sugar. No flour. No dairy.…

Mcferg, you are right on. Check out his blog where he elaborates on some of the things in his book. One of them is if it tastes sweet (artificial/natural sweeteners) don't put it in your mouth.

Thats fine.

Sporty you are taking that slightly out of context, and I think its probably because you want to eat yogurt. That section is one page about how we need bacteria in the gut and what can encourage that good bacteria. Fermented foods are one of the 3 things you should consume. And he lists about 6 things before he mentions…

My thoughts are you need to go to the doctor before doing any more exercise or dieting. High blood pressure.....dehydration, those are 2 factors that might be present.

If you are sensitive to carbs, stay away from the fruit and rice cakes-contrary to popular opinion, they can contribute to weight gain and lead you further down the wrong path.
-
I think you are tied to closely to the numbers on the scale. What about inches?

You are hungry because you're eating carbs all day long which stimulate your cravings and hunger. Plus you are working out which stimulates hunger. and I' don't see that you are drinking 64 oz or more of water a day. I don't know your goal or where you are at right now, but like the other postor said, add protein. To that…

He does talk about yogurt. It raises blood sugar, thats why he says to cut dairy out. He is only showing people the data from his experiments and the results of the regimen. If you dont like it because you can't eat a favorite food, it doesn't mean the results he achieved aren't factual.

Yes. Stevia. I use KAL brand. Its not bitter at all ...good for coffee, kool-aid, smoothies, etc....as far as using it for baking or as a granulated sugar type sweetener its too concentrated.....I haven't tried the packet versions but they nearly all have fillers and many have a bitter aftertaste from what I've read.…

4 is great. For me I wouldn't have stopped until 15 or so.

Its not so much the calories as the effect the bread has on your insulin production. White flour is the worst. Whole wheat isn't that great. Sprouted grains is the best, like Ezekial bread-in the frozen food section. They make buns too.
