  • Oh heavens... MILs & boundaries. My carrying, eternal life resolution for several years has and will always be to NEVER become the MIL that drives my children away by alienating their spouses. (We are moving this year, and we are NOT taking her with us.) Mine actually laid claim to my son's first spoken "I love you" over a…
  • So, 221.4 today. I've had worse post-holiday weigh-ins, & it's too soon to tell really anyway, since I'm still guzzling water for all the sodium I doubtless inhaled over the past week. To those (RobinsEgg, skinnyjeanz, etc) who asked about gym stuff: We unfortunately don't have money to buy weights for the home. We were…
  • Happy New Year, everyone! :) @mountmary84‌ - Thank you! And yes, they're wonderful. My son is 3 now, he was 15 months old when I first started here. Between them I don't get a lot of time to exercise, but thank God for breastfeeding!! Hubby & I are considering a PlanetFitness membership, since there's a location very close…
  • My wishes/goals for the new year 1. Get moved. We need out of this house, and most importantly we need away from my mother in law. Even my husband has finally figured this out. We're looking at Ohio for the cheap housing and reasonable job market in my husband's field. 2. Hit 180 pounds by July 21st. (Wedding anniversary.)…
  • I lost my original 30 pounds (baby weight #1) in 2012/13, I've kept it off, had another baby, and now she's six months old and I am ready to get back on track. I am starting 2015 at 217 pounds, and this is MY YEAR. I am waving goodbye to the 200s forever! I want to see 180 by my anniversary in July. Destination Wedding…
  • Sent you a request, hon! You got this!
  • Well, it's been a very very long while, I don't know if anybody here remembers me, but I lost my original 30 pounds in this group. Since then, I've kept it off, had another baby, and now she's six months old and I am ready to get back on track. I am starting 2015 at 217 pounds, and this is MY YEAR. I am waving goodbye to…
  • That right there. There are 52 weeks in a year. 365 days. From Christmas Eve through New Year's Day is 9 days. Every year, I give myself those 9 days off, plus my birthday, my wedding anniversary, Thanksgiving Day, Easter, and Halloween. 14 total days, and the other 50 weeks, I log meticulously. Having a healthy…
  • I was about 4 months pregnant with baby #2. Thanks to MFP and TDEE-20%, I had lost 30 pounds in 2013, kept it off, and started the second pregnancy BELOW my pre-baby weight from my first child. My second is 6 months old now, and her baby weight is also gone. I am starting 2015 at 217 pounds, and this is MY YEAR. I am…
  • My goal is just to maintain prepreg (218) until Christmas, when baby girl will be six months old. Then I'll start worrying about losing.
  • Chocolate in pretty much any form (except dark, I've never liked dark chocolate), but it's gotta be the good stuff, cheap chocolate annoys me. Bread (good homemade stuff, not the bagged slices, mind). Sushi (the... oh, you get the drift, I'm picky in my cheat foods!)
  • I step on my scale every morning (nude, after toilet), just to maintain the habit, but I only record it once a week at most. Right now I'm pregnant so I'm mostly just keeping tabs on things & eating to maintenance.
  • *waves* Hi, love! My son is two, and I'm currently about 15 weeks with my next one. Toddler is still nursing to sleep for naps & bedtime & occasionally during the day. My pregnancy-weight experience was kinda nutty, and I appear to be repeating the pattern this time. Wicked, WICKED morning sickness during the first…
  • 216 & change. XL tank top from CJ Banks, 18 soft-stretchy dance pants (they're loose enough to have some flow) from JC Penny's. I'm in a 16W short/jean pretty much across the board, and my brand new dress is a 14W from Nordstroms.
  • I plan for it... I have pretty predictable cravings, and I know I just need to drink extra water to compensate for the sodium intake.
  • I redid all my TDEE numbers w/ the latest set of body measurements last night and discovered that I've dropped from 45+% body fat (don't remember exactly) in January, to 38%, and I've also dropped from the "morbidly obese" BMI of 43 to 38 (just regular obesity, then... *rolls eyes*).

It's a bit staggering to look back and compare photos side by side. (Oh, if anybody knows how to turn that into a live link, at least, please quote and do so...I'm hopeless with…
  • Usually I log as I go, but if I'm having a particularly hard time I'll plan out the whole day in advance so I don't have to think about it while I'm in the kitchen staring down tempting treats that would blow my counts to hell.
  • *nodnod* I'm doing TDEE-%, and I was BAFFLED by how quickly and how easily the weight began to just melt off. in February of this year I weighed over 240 pounds. Today I'm just over 217, and that's actually a bit of regain. Got lazy in June & July & didn't log much, so I got back up to about 220 from the low of 210 in…
  • Okay, you're exactly my height, and just about where I was weight-wise at your age, and I wish to GOD I had found this site back then instead of trying desperately to be a cardio bunny and cutting calories way too low. (Psst... it doesn't work. Not long term.) I am now 30 years old with an almost two year old son, and in…
  • GO, you! :) I loooove your attitude. And honey, you are looking FABULOUS!!
  • I dream of being healthy, fitting in the pretty dresses I wore when I was actually a size 14 (and thought I was fat!!!), being able to keep up with my toddler, being able to work a regular 9-5 without being in crippling pain when I get home from being on my feet too long. I want to wear a two-piece to the beach and walk…
  • 1. I ate dinner and several lunches straight out of my garden. 2. I bought a digital kitchen scale (FINALLY) and discovered I have in fact been shorting myself on serving sizes for most veggies. 3. Also replaced my old spring bathroom scale with a digital, and (here's the NSV) did not freak out when I instantly gained 4…
  • RobinsEgg - LOVE the new avatar! :) mackbeth - whew, you had a busy day lined up. Did you get it all done? Susan - what a thrill to see someone you knew and helped raise in those early years doing so WELL now! skinnyjeanz - hey, it is TOTALLY possibly to eat reasonably while out, and it all starts with being aware of what…
  • I guess I'm one of the lucky few... I took it very very gently for a couple of weeks after the surgery, very bland diet, easy on the system. Gradually as I felt up to it I added things back and paid attention to how I felt afterwards. By a couple of months after the surgery, I was back to eating all the foods I'd eaten…

  • Like the OP, I can't have just one a week. If it's in the house, I will drink it. Makes it tough on my hubby who still likes to drink soda, but he is considerately only buying the smaller bottles for his lunches and not keeping 2 liters in the house (once it goes flat I won't drink it ... blech). So I'm another…
  • Monday Check-In ... Okay, so it's day one of my reboot. I admit it, I've been busy/tired/moving/every-excuse-under-the-sun for about the past month, and the scale shows it, I'm up about five pounds from my last weigh-in. It would have been more, I suspect, but my toddler decided to resume his middle-of-the-night nursing.…
  • Friday Fitness - been out in the garden in 30-60 minute stretches all week. The strawberries are producing, finally. There are baby peppers on my hot pepper plants, and flower buds on my bell peppers. Salad coming up well wherever it was seeded... I need to get the next batch in tomorrow. My cilantro is going to flower,…
