  • Wow, I miss logging in for one day and the thread explodes! Hi everybody! I'm about to go put my son to bed, but I just had to drop in and say... 217.6, OH, YEAH! SUCK IT, BABY WEIGHT!!! HA!!!! That's 32.4 pounds gone forever, from a high of 250. Next goal is One-derland! I'm ready to see that number on the scale start…
  • I don't compromise on "diet" food, period. They never taste right, they're usually loaded with extra sugar, salt, or various chemical cocktails, & all they do is leave me craving the real thing. Life is too short to eat imitation anything, so I just stick with my good friends, Portion Control and Weight Training.
  • Realizing that 100 pounds ago I thought I was fat. Looking at pictures from high school and thinking, "I don't remember being that thin." Paying $70-90 to get a single bra that actually fits properly. Accepting that medical science is not going to be able to fix my connective tissue disorder anytime soon, and the only real…
  • Hi, there, @sheshappynow‌ :) So awesome when the meds do their job. Don't neglect your protein amongst all the lovely healthy produce though! (sue me, I'm a carnivore...) Hey, everybody... so... Snowmaggedon happened. It started snowing Saturday night around 10, and did not stop until 2ish this morning. There is easily 2…
  • My wedding dress. I weighed 185ish when we got married, and I want to put the dress on for our anniversary in July. 23 pounds to lose between now & then. It's an intermediate goal, but a good one!
  • I have days off built into my schedule (not "cheat days", but "days off"), 1 day out of every 10. I mean literally plotted on my calendar. Date nights get scheduled for my day off. Parties/special events that other folks arrange and thus I can't schedule to my liking, I adjust the nearest day off if it's reasonable to do…
  • Look in the database for a food entry called "Breastfeeding - Infant + 2 year old, approx 40 oz/day". I created it originally when my son was about 15 months, and it was just him, figuring he got 15 ounces a day, or 20cals per ounce. I created it as a negative value food entry because that allowed me to also compensate for…
  • Better today. :) DH tries really hard to make sure that at least once a week I get to stay in bed until the baby wakes up for the day, and since we cosleep so she has easy access to the milk bar, she will often sleep until 9:30 or 10 if she isn't disturbed, sometimes later. Thanks for the kind words, all. :) For the third…
  • I make room for Nutella, it's my treat. :)
  • It depends on where my head is. If the number on the scale is stressing me, I might go down to as little as once a month. Sometimes, though, seeing the fluctuations that happen normally throughout the day is reassuring to me, and I'll jump on every time I'm in the bathroom. Most of the time, it's once or twice a week, and…
  • Biggest thing that helps me (because, yes, I know your pain well) is a balanced approach. My treat/binge-y foods are not forbidden, nothing is, but I also don't keep them in the house. If I want a soda/chocolate/chips/etc, that's absolutely fine (as long as they fit in my calories), but I have to go out to get them. That…
  • Everybody's over the bug here... but I'm so freaking exhausted. I haven't caught up on my sleep yet. This afternoon I was straight up begging my 3yo to please for the love of God, just SIT and watch Mickey Mouse for half an hour so I can doze while your sister sleeps. I'm missing a church thing that I really wanted to go…
  • @naceto‌ - I do chicken in my crock all the time, it's not only possible, but delicious. You want to cook on low if at all possible, and the chicken should be on the bottom so that it is fully covered by your wet stuff when you turn it on. As long as there's enough fluid in there, chicken (any meat, really) should be…
  • @cblue315‌ - riiiiiiight with ya, except it's my kids. I haven't logged squat in days because I've been coping with two sick littles. But they're both feeling better today, so mama's back on the horse.
  • Vacations are like the holidays, loads of tempting goodies, lots of unusual activity, no guilt allowed. Assuming you TDEE somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-1800 normally, you're looking at needing to consume 6-7000 total calories each day of that 3 day vacation, and that's if you sat your happy butt on the couch and…
  • Well, gained a pound this week, but I really don't think it's actual gain, kwim? I missed a couple of days' tracking, but I was paying attention to what I was eating, I just didn't have time to actually log it, so I really don't think I went over. Both kids are sick, I've almost certainly got it now too, and I've spent…
  • Bring on the weight training! :) Although in my case it'll be body-weight stuff at home, no money for a gym & no space for home weights.
  • @ereilly311‌ - hot bath with 2-3 good handfuls of epsom salts & drinking a lot of water will help with that. :)
  • I'm back... it's crazy here. Still tracking. Still progressing. Mostly just effing exhausted. We're getting ready to move. As in, as soon as we get our tax refund. I want to be out of this house and away from my BSC mother in law before it's time to plant the spring garden. So lots of things are getting stuffed into the…
  • Oh, dear, Kai! Hope they figure it out and get you feeling better soon! Well, folks, the results of "eat my goal calories" week are in. I had a couple of high days and a couple of low days, and my average over the week is just a skosh over my -20% target, so I consider that a success. And according to the ever-fickle…
  • If I had guns like those, sir, I'd be flexing at them and saying something to the effect of "Argue with the results, man!" You look fantastic, you're healthy, and the egg whites thing works for you, who gives a crap what a bunch of middle-school-brained coworkers have to say?
  • Tell y'all something... my body does NOT like it when I fall short of that goal. I feel that for daaaaaays. 10 at night and I am some kinda crazy hungry right now.
  • Newbies, ahoy! Welcome aboard! @Teresa_3266‌ - hey, welcome back! Yeah, when you're starting over I find it takes about a month to get back into the habit of logging accurately. @RobinsEgg‌ - oh, sweetie, get better! :( @Lauriek70 - It's okay, I promise. We all have those munchies days. @170isreal - you go, girl! Sending…
  • @bsracer - Get a crock pot and hit Google. Healthy, delicious, "toss everything in and forget it" recipes abound, and it is the single most useful thing in my kitchen. The chicken taco soup we're eating tonight has less than 300 calories per 1 cup serving.
  • @nannersp61 - hear ya, fellow scale junkie. I'm a SAHM, so I'm around the damn thing all day to boot. I did a thing a while back though, just said "fine, weigh in half a dozen times a day if you like, BUT you have to write it all down and get it through your thick skull that the random fluctuations happen and have nothing…
  • Had an extremely busy, highly frustrating, but ultimately productive day. Turned into a "screw it, I want beer & pizza & munchies" night, but I'm not stressing over it. Just really really done with this day. 'Night, y'all.
  • @tlh0407‌ - that water will help you more than you know, keep it up. I have a 32oz water bottle that I keep full and within reach at all times, and just sip each time it catches my eye. I go through 3-4 of those 32oz bottles a day. Once your body realizes there is water close to hand, it will start letting you consciously…
  • *waves at the new folks* I know, you never see personals in my posts. (Well, not never. . . ) I promise to try harder, but I'm usually posting either late when I'm wiped out, or around the demands of two small humans who NEED MOMMY RIGHT NOW!!!! ;) @wmander1 - reading teacher, that is so awesome... my first grade teacher…
  • I do a similar "break up the day" thing, but I do it by time. 6am - 10am, 10am - 2pm, 2pm - 6pm, 6pm - 10pm, 10pm - 2am. I find this not only helps me stay on track when I'm having a "crap I forgot to eat" day, but also helps me find those sneaky little patterns that set me up to overeat. Sent you a friend request. :)…
  • @BrendaLee615‌ - oh, sweetie... if you're eating under 1200 and doing daily cardio, you are straight up starving, and if you keep it up, your body will punish you for it. Assuming that you are logging every single nibble (it does take a while to get into the habit) and using actual measuring cups/spoons/a food scale…
