Oh, I've got it all planned out... Breaking 200 pounds (and staying under!), rewarded by a new bathing suit if I make it in time for Mommy & Me swim classes this summer, & by a spa day if not. 180 pounds, rewarded by the purchase of the Flirty Girls pole workout DVD package, the big premium one with all the DVDs, pole,…

They may not be religious, but have a parent, child, spouse, or sibling who is, and may be doing it to be supportive or not make it more difficult than it has to be.

The worst thing ever said about my weight, in my hearing... it's a tossup. Candidate #1 would be the fat jerk who saw me walking home from the bank when I was seven months pregnant (and still below my pre-preg weight because I'd been so sick the first trimester) and commented that some people should consider investing in…

Overall it looks amazing, but I absolutely hate tomatoes in any form, even the smell makes me sick... any suggestions?

Okay, so yeah, there's a little work to do, but sweetie, you are by no means the worst offender in the universe... or even here! You've said that the main issue these days seems to be overeating. (Not the binge/purge/starve cycle, but just plain eating too much.) I am right with you on that one. I had to have my…

First thing, if you're not already seeing a therapist about this, start. If you are seeing one, bring it up. If you're in school, many many universities have mental health services available for free or very cheap. It is GOOD to get help, honey. And by the way, you are lovely. I'd be surprised if your definition of "too…

Go take a peak at what I just had for lunch... 4oz of baked chicken breast, a great big salad with cheese and pretzel rods on the side, and a big mug of hot tea, and let me tell you, I am STUFFED. I generally end up coming in under my calorie goals, WITH room for a piece of cheesecake or a couple of cookies after dinner.…

{quote}Were you always overweight? Or were you once a healthy weight? Did you "let yourself go"? Or perhaps it was due to a traumatic event, injury or medication? And did anyone become overweight while still being an active person and (over)eating homemade, whole foods, or was it only through eating essentially crap food,…

Hi, all :) I'm Laura... mom of one, 30 years, and have 67 pounds to go... maybe add 10-15 to that if I get to 150 and decide I wanna go further. I'm doing really great so far, and even being sick my energy level is up from what it was a month ago. My husband put his arms around me today and said "wow, you are losing…

We ask to see diaries, oh gentlemen, because women's bodies work somewhat differently and WHAT we eat matters at least as much as how much of it we consume. Caloric intake vs expenditure IS a primary factor for many people, but it's not the be all and end all for *healthy* weight loss.

Anybody can add me :) 30 yrs old Mother of 1 Height 5' 3" Highest Weight : 240 (went up AFTER son was born due to a rotten doctor not warning me about Domperidone side effects) Current Weight 217 Goal Weight 150 lbs (maybe 130-140 after that, we'll see) Daily logger!

Maybe instead of trying a total lifestyle revamp all at once, you could start with small changes that would be easier to incorporate? Carrying a water bottle so that you're reminded to drink more water. A single beer and then switch to water or ice tea? Order the wings, but get a salad too and eat that first? Park at the…

I made myself a promise when I signed up that I would never feel guilty over my food diary. That makes it simple to log EVERYTHING, and then I can see where I can make better choices so that I CAN have room for that piece of cheesecake or that four slices of bacon. I promised myself that this was never going to be about…

Here's a thought... today you burned almost 90 calories on half & half and sugar, presumably for coffee? Ya know what you could have had for that 88 calories or a little bit more? A stick of string cheese, a light yogurt, or another cup of mango. If it's the caffeine you're after, try a black tea like Earl Gray, a…

Okay, right off the bat I see a couple of things that could maybe use some tweaking. The pre-prepped, processed meal options, like the Jimmy Dean and the Marie Calendar Meal? That sort of thing is not your friend. No, not even the "Diet", "Lite", "Healthy" etc options. When they take out calories, they have to replace it…

Looking now. :)

Go ahead and add me, hon. It's all about the support!!

You're gonna have to open up your diary if you want folks to really be able to help, honey.

I decided to log breastfeeding as a negative value food entry, because that way I was able to also calculate an estimated fat, carb, and protein loss, so it keeps the rest of my numbers balanced throughout the day. My son is just shy of 15 months and nurses for a full feed on average 6 times in 24 hours, with occasional…

Okay... based on the nutritional information here: http://drtummy.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&catid=75:headers&id=537:nutritional-quality-of-breast-milk&Itemid=55 And starting from 300 calories per day, I'm building a Food entry for negative values as follows: Calories - 300 (based on 20 calories per…

Oh my! That's the same problem I'm having because I forgot about the breastfeeding calories... a 1640 calorie limit that just feels too darned low! How old is your baby, still just breastmilk or eating solids too? Depending on your baby's age and how often they're nursing, you could be losing as much as 500 calories a day…

Thank you for the comparison. :) My son hasn't dropped any actual feedings since he started really being interested in food... it's still upon waking in the morning, naptime, getting up, bedtime, and once/twice during the night. All the solid diet really did was cut down on the snack/boredom nursing. If he's cutting a…

Oh, that's awesome, I didn't know! :)

Yes you can! :) There will always be a day or two here or there where nothing seems right and nothing seems to work. You've been at it for 6 days, and it takes 21 to change a habit and form a new one. Sounds like a lot, right? Look at it another way... you're almost 1/3 of the way there already! If 30 days is looking like…

Today. It's my birthday. I had spinach & mushroom pizza for dinner and a slice of chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Yummm.

Oh, sweetie, you and I are totally on the same page. I started here at 238, I'm 225 after getting home from the hospital yesterday (in for a week, gall bladder removed). Goal is 150 (though secretly, I'd be over the moon if I could hit 130-140 again), so I still have 75 pounds to go. Water is actually one of my stronger…

Hihi! Still nursing my 15 month old son here, and getting sooooo much grief about it. I was just in the hospital to have my gall bladder out, and with the exception of two nurses, everyone saw my pump, asked how old my baby was, and frowned when I told them. Someone actually had the gall to send a lactation specialist up…

Yes, I read the entire thread. OP, you should just accept that there are somethings which you, as a male, should never EVER comment on, especially not online. The weight gain of the pregnant female is one of those things. Good heavens, I'm glad I'm not your wife! Just for your information, I was (and am) solidly in the…

Well, I don't know about young (I turn 30 tomorrow), but I started out at 238 and want to hit 150, so a total of 88 pounds. I've lost 13 so far, but mostly because I just had surgery & was in the hospital & couldn't eat for a week... so I'm not sure it counts. The surgery was to remove my gall bladder, which helps the body…
