I don't know that you can completely substitute Insanity for running, but as a runner who is currently doing the program, I can tell you that it's definitely helped me improve my speed and endurance. I've taken a good 2 minutes off of my 5K time since starting Insanity in April.

I'm starting tomorrow! Hoping it's not as horrible as everyone says it is :ohwell:

I think you'll be fine! I did the shred (not the whole thing grant you) before starting Insanity, I felt like it was a good prep for it. Just remember to go at your own pace - don't feel like you have to keep up with everyone in the video! Good luck

i welcome new friend requests :)

Congratulations, what an accomplishment! You look awesome! I'm in my recovery week now and seeing your results will definitely keep me motivated!

I go through about a gallon a day too...it's definitely not as hard as some people think! Yeah I pee a lot too, but like you said, it's worth it! :drinker:

Just finished month 1 and I can't be happier about it. It sounds like some of you are frustrated that the weight isn't coming off quickly but let me tell you - take photos! You can see and feel a difference in your body by just the end of the first month. From what I've read on other posts about insanity, the 2nd month is…

I've done both, and in my opinion, Insanity is a lot tougher- but the results I've seen from it so far (just finishing the first month) were more significant than when doing the 30 day shred. This is not to say I didn't appreciate the 30 day shred - you definitely get a great workout in about 25 mins (insanity workouts are…

I have a New Balance HRM that I have no complaints about! User friendly, set it up and was using it within minutes. For the price, it gets the job done. I wanted a Polar as well but didn't really have the extra $$ to spend.

I'm (just) 5'1 and aiming fo120-125, although I may re-evaluate along the way. I'm more concerned with lean muscle mass at this point, so if I get the "look" I want at a higher number on the scale I'll be satisfied. Yay for shorties :drinker:

My favorite ring is now WAY too big for me to wear...definitely a victory, although I may be a little sad over it

24, friend request sent! Been on this for awhile but trying to be a more active participant in the social part, anyone feel free to add me
-
Does anyone use one without a chest strap? I have a New Balance one that's ok, but I'd love to have something effective with just a watch/wrist strap.

24 in New York, whoop whoop! I've been on mfp for awhile but am determined to be a more active participant on the social side

I'm with you! Working towards curves made of muscle! I've never done the 30 day shred from start to finish, but I will pop it in the DVD player when I am crunched for time - such a good way to get a really good in a short amount of time!

I try to get it out of the way in the morning, but like some other posters, I have noticed it makes me hungrier throughout the day. There are days like this morning though, where I just couldn't get myself out of bed at 4:15, so it will have to wait until after work.

Did week 2 day 2 this morning! This is my second time starting the program - hoping to stick with it this time around!
