I can’t help but imagine that people who give woos are not much different to online trolls. They seem to intentionally seek out topics that they disagree with just so they can woo and harass people with different points of view, I guess it makes them feel superior in some small minded way. You got the woo simply because…

I’m doing a different style of intermittent fasting, but have read Dr Michael Mosley’s Fast 800 which also discusses & recommends the 5:2 (or his version of it). The thing to remember is that you’re still meant to aim to be healthy and eat a fairly low carb diet with whole foods and healthy fats minus overly processed…

This challenge has been great at helping me keep on track. While everyone will get different results, I’ve lost 18.6kg (40lbs) & 15% in the past 14 weeks. Great getting to know others in the group, and it’s a more friendly supportive environment than the open forum threads.

Luciicul Week 1 Monday PW: 222.7 lbs CW: 222.5 lbs Feeling a little disappointed as my weight got down to 221.4lbs on Saturday but has bounced up since. I'm trying a new eating protocol, so may take a couple weeks to see if it is working, but it means I eat more on weekends and less during the week (so in a way it's not…

I don't pretend to have done a huge amount of research on it, but I trust that the doctors who have advised against using it have done their research before making such a claim. Perhaps you can share the research evidence that shows us Stevia does not raise insulin? One study cited: Effects of stevia, aspartame, and…

Just be aware that sweeteners of any kind, including stevia, seem to raise insulin levels even if there are no carbs or calories in them. Up to you whether this is a concern or not; for me it is so I have gone cold turkey and am not using any. Yeah, it means tea does not taste as nice, but I am finding my tastes changing.…

@Navydaddjtc I'm sorry to hear about your mother, my best wishes to you and your family <3

@ShowKitten I hope you survive the family wedding okay! Family is a tough one - stirs up all kinds of stress for me too. During the Christmas holiday period I actually walked out and missed a family gathering after finding some of my family's behaviour just too stressful to tolerate. It had me rethinking why we go to the…

Hi, this is my fourth month on the challenge, I'm Australian, mum to a 13 yr old. I eat low carb, moderate protein, moderate healthy fats, and avoid processed and refined foods. I've recently started dabbling with intermittent fasting to help reverse my insulin resistance (I'm also on Metformin). In recent months I've…

Luciicul Week 5 Monday PW 227.1 lbs CW 222.7 lbs Been a good week. I’ve started dabbling in intermittent fasting. Good to learn something new, another tool in the toolbox. I weigh myself in kgs and then convert to lbs - in kgs I have hit 101kgs; so I am very close to being back in two digits, and confident I will be there…

This happened to me too, a couple months ago when giving blood for tests! It sure took me by surprise. I'm not squeamish, but must have been a drop in blood pressure or something, sure gave the nurse a fright! Funniest thing was, right as I came back to consciousness (it was only a second or two that I blacked out), I was…

@boehle I accidentally missed out on the buddies thread. Will this be reopened next month?

Four Circles: One Year Goal: Lose 85 lbs One Month Goal: Lose 10 lbs One Week Goal: Lose 2.5 lbs Today: I will go for a walk, do a short strength workout, eat plenty of vegetables, stick to diet.

Luciicul Week 3 Monday PW: 230.4 lbs CW: 228.6 lbs I've been struggling a bit to stay motivated and focused. I'm keeping to the diet about 95%, but not eating as many vegetables as I should, have wobbled on the exercise - mostly stress from stuff going on in my home life is a bit like having the carpet pulled out and I…

Luciciul Week 2 Monday PW: 232.8 lbs CW: 230.4 lbs Am a little annoyed with myself as on Friday I was at a new low of 229.3lbs but let things slip a little on the weekend - didn't get any exercise and went a little off my diet - so put 1.1lbs on in the last 3 days. At least it is still a net loss since last weigh-in day.

I agree with ShowKitten: Couch to 5 K /C25K is a great program to learn to run. I am out of practice at the moment (not running) but learnt to run in 2012 by doing this program - I downloaded a British NHS podcast that used this method and listened to it while I ran. The program uses intervals, so in the first week’s…

@Beka3695 I’d like to know more about the buddy system too - how does it work?
-
@RandiHaszel April is off to a good start for me too. I weigh in daily as habit (though official weigh-in is Monday), and today I have hit 104kgs (229.3lbs), which means in total I’ve lost 13% body weight since I started on my diet this year. Hope this loss holds till my next official weigh in! On a week by week basis it…

There’s a school of thought that the more processed a food is, the worse it is for you. Processed sugar is a calorie dense food-like substance with the fibre & nutrition stripped out. If it were eaten in natural form (cane, beet, etc) not as much energy would be consumed because it would be less calorie-dense and filling…

Steps Challenge Sorry last month the medication I am on started to really get to me and my steps and motivation took a slide - felt really yuck. Now my body is used to it, am feeling better. It doesn’t worry me one way or another what happens going forward. I don’t have a Fitbit, but I am also not so worried about tracking…

@Beka3695 I just had a peek at the March Grand Finale results, and noticed a mistake. In the top 3 individual lbs lost in third place someone is listed with a 9.3lb loss, but I lost 9.6lb (higher loss) and am not listed.

Track your period for 3 cycles, and then you'll know what is normal for you. Whichever way it goes, it is only temporary water weight (presuming you are eating healthy and normal, not giving into food cravings).
