I just finished my intro classes today :) It's been great so far. The coach I've been working with has been super helpful and encouraging. I'm excited to start classes and see more progress. I love the environment and having someone plan the workout for me. I push myself harder than normal but can also listen to my body…

Thanks for all the encouragement :) Monday I'm officially starting with three one-on-ones, and I'm excited! I love hearing about your experiences. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can accomplish with some community and accountability pushing me.

How was your first month? Are you feeling stronger/seeing physical changes?

I just think there's a difference between my body doing it and putting something in my body that does it. I'm not condemning Mirena, just putting something else out there for anyone who wants to consider that type of thing when choosing birth control.

Never in my life have I been able to do a pull up. I really hope I can work up to doing one :)

I've been a member at a gym for 6 years, and have gone to a variety of different classes. The times for the crossfit classes fit well with my schedule, and I want to try something different. I'm making a month commitment, not a lifetime.

It went well. It was a challenge, but a good one. I can tell it will get much harder than what I did today, but I think I'm going to try it for a month and see how it goes. They don't make you sign any contracts, and you just pay month to month, so I like that. I think it's what I've been looking for- something that will…

I chose not to go with it because when I read the pamphlet my doctor gave me it didn't sit well that it can cause your body to abort a fetus if you do actually get pregnant. So, I'm no help in terms of how it impacts your body while you're on it, but make sure you read all the info if that kind of thing is important to you.

Please let me know how it goes! I am going to try to go for a consultation in the next week or so. I am really interested. Like you, I feel stuck in my own routines and I also have not been pushing myself enough. Would love to know how the consult goes!
I'll report back tonight :) Hopefully I'll still be able to…

When my sister and I used to live near each other and would work out together, she would be on the machine next to me singing out loud to her music. I could always hear her above my own music. I love her :)

I did some research and found that an hour barre class burns anywhere from 400-600 calories, so I just log it as 400.

Heres a nice little article that might help http://www.precisionnutrition.com/cardio-confusion
Thanks for the article. Very helpful.

When I saw the topic of this thread, I was hoping it would be about what instantly came to my mind. Our bodies were built to birth, nourish, and nurture children. Our society has deemed stretch marks ugly, and tells us to cover our c-section scars. But my stretch marks and scar are my battle wounds from bringing into the…

I think discouragement is part of the journey. It's what you do with the discouragement that really matters. We can't let it define us or derail us, but rather press on through it. And sometimes, it just helps to rant :)

I'm not a teenager, but I do remember having the desire to fit into the clothes from those exact stores when I was. They never fit me correctly, and as an adult I finally figured out why. Part of it is being overweight, yes, and good job working on being healthy. But the other part of it is those clothes are designed for…

I've always found that when I want to stop drinking pop, the first week or 2 is really hard and then after that I don't really crave it anymore. This last month my husband and I made ourselves a rule of only 2 pops a week, and it helped. I kept thinking I'd want one later in the week so I wouldn't have any, and ended up…

Birth control helped regulate me and deal with some of the other symptoms, like excess hair. Losing weight takes more effort, but it can definitely still happen- which obviously you're doing! I took Metformin for a little bit a few years back, but it totally messed up my stomach so I stopped. I do think that the more I…
