I purchased a Perfect Portions scale a couple of weeks ago that gives you the exact nutritional values based on the weight of the item-it comes with a booklet that has over 2000 listed foods-you key in that food's code and weigh it! Takes all the guess work out-is it a "large potato" or "Medium" I love it!

Accepting that I am a "carboholic" and that everytime I give into the sweets craving, that I pay for it for the next 5-6 hours with a huge "sugar letdown", now I try to think about how it's going to make me feel later BEFORE I give in.

I used to get all bent out of shape about this, then finally I realized there are worse things than not having coffee ready made. Now, I just don't worry about it, I either make more, or.....don't have coffee. "Don't sweat the small stuff"

Thank you! I really enjoy seeing how others are doing, makes me feel not so alone in my quest! And, for the most part, it really helps to inspire me! But seeing all the negativity really has the opposite affect!

I'll be 50 in May and I am trying to lose the 20lbs. I've put on since getting married 3 1/2 years ago. It's a lot tougher now than it used to be. This site helps me stay focused and motivated.
