  • Well, I thought LC was supposed to lessen it, that was the general consensus on my google research. I don't consider myself an odd fish out, so I'm starting to wonder if something else is going on. Maybe my cycle is just completely out of wack right now do to estrogen dumps from fat loss. The epsom salt bath did nothing,…
  • I go with what Dragonwolf said. I subtract dietary fiber because it doesn't get digested, but I count everything else save for erythitol (it's the only sugar alcohol I ingest).
  • Well, adding more salt is worth a try. Anything at this point to feel better. I'm taking my dad out to eat for his birthday tonight and I'll take a page out of his book and salt my steak!
  • Arigato gozaimasu :)
  • I have to have something in my tea/coffee that is sweet to drink it. The longer I go low carb the less sweet I need it and I've cut back on the amount massively, but I still use AS daily; mostly liquid splenda and erythritol (Swerve). Neither affect my BG or have thrown me out of ketosis. Other than that, I try to avoid…
  • Awwwww, all the happy feels...... I have a fitbit. I love/hate my fitbit. It's not perfect and is sometimes stupid, like telling me I climbed stairs when I simply walked to the restroom. It guilt trips me everyday too about not getting those pesky stupid 10k steps, making me go, "FINE", at 7;30 in the evening to go trounce…
  • Love the area KittensMaster! I love the beach, but I really do like a more mountainy rocky place at times. You guys have really nice places to run/cycle/walk!
  • My walking route some days :)
  • I focus on 10%. I started this recent attempt at 238, so that's roughly 24 lbs. At 214 I'll have lost my first 10% (and I'm almost there! 217 today :D) At 214 I'll focus on 10% of that and so forth and so on. The lbs I need to lose start getting smaller and smaller..... Right now 10% of 214 would put me at 192 and that…
  • Boston Butt, YUM!
  • The color of the ketostix can be affected by your hydration level and numerous other things. So if you've drank more today or tested in the afternoon, it could be lighter. As long as it shows trace, it means you are in ketosis. It's like a pregnancy test; you are or you aren't. Mine never go above small and mostly stay in…
  • Same here! Things gets so twisted by people sometimes and that annoys me. I'm not really thin skinned though. It's the internet. It's expected.
  • I like to be comfy. Wearing something tight just to make me realize I'm fat, when I can just as easily look in a mirror, would totally have me depressed all day long. I'd rather wear outfits I can work in comfortably.
  • Overheard the office gossip yesterday that wasn't meant for my ears....... It seems my weight loss is not only a topic of discussion but now they have decided to start dieting too. By the end of the day, even had one come up and tell me that the weight was flying off now. I was also able to wear two new dresses I'd had…
  • This ^ I'm doing low carb because my husband and I have medical reasons and it was suggested by a Doctor. I however am finding low carb to be very easy to stick too and really don't miss them. To each his own however and if cutting out sugar and starches isn't sustainable to you for life, then stick with CICO. CICO works…
  • I weigh in the morning after I pee every day. I've gotten into the bad habit of weighing before bed as well, but I don't really pay much attention to it. The only day my weight actually counts to me is Saturday, so anything in between is just used for data tracking. Since I got back on plan two months ago, the scale has…
  • I love to make homemade broccoli and cheese. I just grab a bag of the steamable broccoli, cook it one minute under the lowest recommended time, add melted butter and cheese, and then cook it for another 1-2 minutes. YUM! Just don't do like me and go overboard on the cheese LOL. I also like to roast a lot of my veggies. I…
  • Yeah, I know how that feels. I'm very overweight. I've lost 44 lbs with 70 left to go. Meanwhile, already skinny coworker drops 20 lbs and everyone has a comment and a new nickname, despite the fact she lost too much weight and wasn't even trying (she wasn't eating because she was having relationship problems). Bah on…
  • I eat a lot of deviled eggs and they make a great dish to bring to work parties. I put butter on just about every veggie and sometimes oil. Broccoli, green beans, brussel sprouts, cabbage, and lots of salad make up most of my veggie intake. For a bit there I loved fresh summer squash too. Somedays of course I just eat…
  • Oh the Thinner one....... That's epic LOL
  • Oh sorry, I can't read today. :P
  • Oh, and she's currently doing LC without her gallbladder and is having no issues at all.
  • Have you had your gallbladder checked? My friend had those exact same symptoms for a year before going to a doctor. Anything she ate, especially high fat items, had her sick. She ended up having a pecan sized stone and had to have her whole gallbladder removed. Other than that, I'm not sure. I hope it gets better for you…
  • Yeah.... same here and as southern as they come. I never use the seasoning packs either, just straight up chili powder and other spices. But to each his own. :) I've never had it that way, but hey, it might be good! I'm of the mind don't knock it till you try it...... Unless it's rocky mountain oysters. I'll just have to…
  • Um, not in my neck of the US. I've never had chili with sweeteners...... I'll have to ask this of the cooks at the next chili cook off.
  • Thanks! And I by no means am complaining about 2 lbs a week. Just in comparison to the last time I did LCHF, I am losing a lot slower. Didn't think 5 years would make much difference on my metabolism, but boy was I wrong. As said, the number is going down and as long as it continues to do so, no complaints here. I just get…
  • We take a portable grill and grill the entire time :) We didn't camp this weekend, but spent a day trip at a local state park. Grilled, carried deviled eggs kept on ice, easy to eat veggies, and pork rinds for those that like them to munch on.
  • I don't purposefully cycle, but I do notice that one week I'll drop 2-4 lbs and then next week I'll eek out one lb..... maybe. It's slow and frustrating, but it's going down and not up. So I'll just accept it for what it is and keep on trucking. I'm really quite content eating this way though. We ate at Golden Corral on…
  • I just tell them I eat low carb. So far, no one has given me a lecture or funny looks. Most of my coworkers are pretty fly..... I have two that scoff. One thinks low carb ='s all you can eat meat and nothing else (she was shocked when I said I eat salads) and the other is still on the low fat bandwagon. While the latter…
