Blood Sugar Question
So I've been low carb 25 g or less now for just under 3 months on keto. My blood sugar has gotten heaps and bounds better (type 2)...... but my fasting glucose is still not quite great. I fast 20-23 hours a day Mon through Friday, last meal before 7/8 pm most nights. By lunch my BG is still in the upper 120's. Now, I…

Coffee Suggestions
Anyone got a decent light roast coffee brand? I prefer a light or medium roast in the mornings, but it seems every one is infatuated with dark roast these days. I'm not a fan of the Starbucks variety and am wanting to try something new.

Fitbit charge HR giving more calories than just the charge
My hubby upgraded my charge to the charge HR for V-Day and I'm noticing that the calorie adjustment in MFP is now insanely different. Does the HR matter that much? I typically go on two 15 min walks during my work breaks, a 10 min walk at lunch, and then a 45 min walk in the evenings. Yesterday the calorie adjustment was…

Things I learned this past weekend....
So I went to Universal Studios in Orlando on Friday (Halloween Horror Nights is fantastic!). I wasn't planning to cheat, but I had decided I was just going to enjoy myself and not really worry about food all that much. I came back with some new perspectives. 1. I cave into peer pressure easier than I thought. "Oh come on,…

How to deal with burn out (rant)
3 months today, that's how long I've been pretty much straight up keto minus one day to celebrate my granddads birthday. I started this to support my husband and I knew low carb worked well for me in the past and knew the ropes to speak. Once I started going strong, man it's been a breeze. I'm not losing weight as fast as…

For the ladies and our hormone issues
katch.me/JasonSeib/v/0e136d5e-a76a-3cd3-95b6-2a9e909e4fbe I found this on r/xxketo, but thought I'd share it here too. I knew most of it already, but the way he laid it out made it all make so much sense.

Bloat and edema
So for the past two months I have been battling horrid water retention and bloating for at least 3 weeks at a time. It's uncomfortable and I have no idea what is causing it. All my weight loss is almost completely masked by it and that's frustrating. I know some veggies can cause distress, such as broccoli, but I really…

Question about sparkling water
My boss brings in freebies once or twice a month that he's given by a food bank when they are unable to give it to those that need it. Half the time it's expired or about to expire, so I think they just clear out their stores. He brought in a case of sparkling water today that's 2 weeks expired and says it's sweetened with…

High blood sugar low carb
So I've been pretty strictly 20g or less for a month since yesterday and while the inches seem to be shifting, the scale isn't. My mother said I could be having insulin problems, so I tested my blood sugar last night after dinner and it was 177, then 143 two hours later. This morning my fasting was 123. Now, my mother has…

Fuzzy tongue feeling
I've noticed since I've started this WOE, the last three weeks my tongue has felt numbish? It's hard to describe and it's worse in the afternoons than mornings. It's not a funny taste really, just a fuzzy kind of feeling. I know ketosis can make your breath stink and give you a metallic taste, but can it do this too?

Need some ideas
So my husbands doctor recommended him to be on a 1600 cal/low carb diet to shed a good 100 lbs or more. We started this WOE two weeks ago today and he's already down 22 lbs. I'm really happy for him, but I'm seemingly not having ANY success, at least scale wise. I've lost at most 4 lbs, all the first week, but haven't gone…
