My advice is to just do something. Right now the little things don't really matter too much. You just need to get the snowball rolling in the right direction and it will pick up momentum. I'd recommend setting your goal at about 1lb a week and i like to use part diet and exercise to get my calorie deficit.

Just for perspective, I've lost 35lbs since July and I eat waaaaay more than 500 net calories a day. Just guessing here, but if you're 240 I would bet you should eat around 2000 a day and burn 500 or so. But yes, please eat way more.

The amount of protein in each scoop differs greatly from brand to brand. You shouldn't worry about scoops as much as you should worry about grams of protein. My current powder is 30g per scoop. If you do a google search of "intermittent fasting" I think you'll get some helpful information. It's kind of the cool kid thing to do right now to limit your good intake to a 6hr period or so. It sounds like that's what you'd like to do so intermittent fasting (IF) might be perfect for you.

Make that a double! I totally agree. I only wish someone would've explained nutrition to me earlier. I kind of blame my parents for that. I think educating children on nutrition (and most everything else) should be a parent's job.

Isn't a headstand a strength exercise? Yes your heartrate does increase with strength exercises but I wouldn't think it would be enough to even worry about. I log "strength training" but that's only when I lift for 30+ min. Just my thoughts on it.

Bmi is BS. Right now mine is 40.5 (5'9" 274lbs). At 165lbs I would be just barely "normal". That's just too skinny for me IMHO
