I feel the same way sometimes. I ride 10 miles a day in about 1hr and runtastic gives me about 500 calories and that seems crazy to me. When I do workouts like this I just log it as "calisthenics" and I only actually log like 10cal/minute if I feel like I busted my butt. In the end the HRM is the best/easiest way to measure calories burned.

I am not a pull-up pro. In fact I've never done one. But if I were to do a pull-up I would do it with the thumb under because that does seem more secure. Totally agree with you. We are pretty strict about what our children eat. Making sure they eat a certain amount of bites of everything and a few extra of the good stuff. Lately I have really been watching my macros so I have been pretty good about also eating right. But my wife... I always catch her scooting her veggies…

I guess in the end it's a personal thing and whatever works the best is the best approach. But I do like the idea of at least setting it a few 100 below maintenance so you would have a cushion.

It frustrates me that people only want to change their diets if it tastes good. You can eat food that doesn't taste great and lose weight, or you can keep eating junk food and die young and fat.
