  • The King lives on the moon and on Friday and Saturday nights works in a Fish and Chip shop in Wigan. Everyone knows that.
  • Finished what I had to do in Germany, a couple of hours before I leave for the airport, and I don't feel like doing documentation, that's for next week, so I thought it was time for an update. I've had a great trip, very productive from a business point of view, the hotel was great, had a wonderful meal last night of…
  • @_tru_ - nothing wrong with being crazy, as Paul Simon said, I'm "still crazy after all these years!" You've got me wondering with the juxtapostion of "can't sleep in the buff" and "going back to full-on brunette"................... But I won't ask! Incidentally, Lil Miss Fitbit doesn't wake me up at night, but she…
  • They are a figment of their own imaginations........................ But Hell, I like them!!
  • No I don't suck in for the waist measurement, I try to relax and be neutral and yes the waist measurement is at the level of your belly button, not your jeans waist measurement which is a little over where your hip measurement is. The tape measure should be snug but not tight or digging in, though as long as you do it the…
  • Google "Starvation mode myth". Tells you all you need to know (if the word 'myth' doesn't give it away!).
  • I use food scales all the time when I'm at home and think it is an essential part of portion control. No idea what they are, my wife bought them some time back!
in food scales? Comment by ron2e July 2013
  • @meg - ain't that the truth! I'm also an independent contractor and not getting paid while you're not working means you lose more money taking the time off than the holiday costs you, so you take a huge hit! I don't have the luxury of 4 day weekends either  Still, I have the compensation of, for me, the best job in…
  • Rick was never real music for goodness sake...................... Next we'll have Kylie Minogue's 'I should be so lucky' touted as a classic! What next? Stock. Aitken and Waterhouse for President....?
  • @jane - tend to agree on the Fitbit, but it is good and does provide useful info like allowing me to drink more  Seriously I thiink this is a good product but in its early stages of development which I happen to be very familiar iwth................... so I'll say no more on that subject LOL. People in glass houses…
  • Good grief it's quiet on here, has everyone gone on vacation except Meg's pants? That's a wonderful NSV Meg, I must look out my old pants and see if it is as obvious! I've had one of those weeks so far, away from home Tuesday/Wednesday, back last night but today has been wall to wall teleconferences (which I absolutely…
  • Thing is, these adverts are based on you, they are not random, though I'm kinda worried as to why I get 'Fashionchick' ads.................... someone has been peeking into my leisure pursuits
  • I much prefer 7 days of rest. But that's just me..............
  • Every day I drink some whisky, eat some chocolate and a few biscuits (cookies) and I have lost one kilo per week for the past 27 weeks. Therefore it is clear that whisky, chocolate and biscuits are the answer to losing weight. That is the danger of bro-science, drawing conclusions from what are probably unconnected things.…
  • Good for you, it's so nice to see someone determined to overcome a bad start! One thing to remember (and I speak from personal experience) when you've been at the bottom, you need never fear going there again as you know you can climb out whatever happens. Congratulations on achieving all the things you have fought for and…
  • Honey, this was a bad place to open your heart (as is any internet forum). Be true to yourself, try to forgive the sins you see, but at the end of the day do what will make you happy, that is all that matters. You may make mistakes, that is part of being young, but never go against your gut feel and you won't go wrong. XX
  • Picking up my Strat and Hot Rod amp as we speak............................
  • Why don't we turn this into a musical thread. The girl done sing well
  • I do feel so sorry for you, and this exhibits the problem I have with religion (not faith which is a different thing) in my opinion which puts high expectations of purity at its root, in total denial of human nature or what it likes to call 'the sins of the flesh'. I can't offer you any solution that doesn't affect that…
  • Should be the Beatles "I'm a loser" or Queen's "Fat bottomed girls".......................... anything really vintage or modern as long as it is upbeat and not rap.
  • Because I have changed my life and have no wish to change back. Giving up is not an option, changing my life for the worse or continuing as I am are the only two options available to me.
  • To those having problems sleeping in the hot weather, I learned from living in Africa there was only one solution outside of air conditioning. Firstly, don't wear anything (other than your sleep monitor!) to bed, secondly pull back the covers/duvet/whatever and lie on top of the bed uncovered. This will seem a little…
  • Having followed this from the beginning I'm kinda relieved the dog hasn't come to any harm. Dogs are people too!!
  • Ah sounds like you did everything right and the problem is with Fitbit. You should be OK once they have that sorted out hopefully!
  • Silly question, but after you downloaded it (FitbitConnect_Win_20130226_1.0.0.2578.exe) did you run it? You should after it installs and runs get a menu up offering to Setup a new Fitbit device or Sync now. Go for the first option and make sure the wifi dongle is in your USB port and the Fitbit switched on.
  • I had no problems with W7. Downloaded the sync program and ran it on the PC, connected the WIFI link thingy, and then switched on the Fitbit, ran the sync program and it all worked.
  • Something with chilli. You think it's hot? You don't know nuthin' yet!!
  • When you remember Kennedy being shot, and everyone around you thinks that is history.
  • I was conceited to start with, but then I saw a shrink and now I'm just the nicest and most talented guy on the forum..............
  • Oh no, I'm so looking forward to being, if not thin, at least what I consider a reasonable weight. The benefits in health terms are immense.
