I smoked for 41 years...have been quit for 13...I ate alot at first and gained 50 pounds..but I would rather eat than smoke..it is easier to lose weight than to quit smoking...a binge here and there in the long run doesn't do as much harm as smoking does.

I give myself a pep talk and then force myself to go out and walk...always feel better for doing it.:laugh:

I always eat later at night..I am nocturnal so my eating is from noon on..last meal around 9pm.

I'm 5'6" and would be looking really good at 145...I have a large chest..so allowing for the top 140 is perfect for me.:happy:

I weigh myself in the wee hours of Monday morning..hold me accountable for the week end. Keeps me from overeating on Sundays.:drinker:

People are mean alot of the time..I was out on my bike and some college guys decided to throw their drink at me from a truck and bark like dogs...It happens..but you just keep going..

Just log in every day..post your calories and read the message boards. They help keep you motivated...If you feel like giving up..tell yourself "Just for today I will stay on the diet"...do this every day. it helps.

I was on Atkins for two years..stayed at 1500 calories. Lost about a pound a week. then I switched to a regular diet of 1500 calories a day for another two years and still lost a pound a week. I try to personalize the cravings to eat..as a little monster bugging me..I have arguments and lectures for it. But turning it down and making it moan are my happy times..that means I win the argument about eating..

cut down on the water..you can get water poisoning. no more than 8 glasses a day.

My hubby does the same thing..He brings home candy and cookies and chips..and then says "you don't have to eat it" Or " I thought you might want these later. Very frustrating.
