I have lost a total of 35 lbs and my greatest tool has been a digital food scale. I can't express enough how useful and instrumental it has been to me... so much less time consuming than counting out serving sizes and much more accurate! A digital food scale is inexpensive (you can get a pretty decent one for $20). Digital…

Weighing yourself at night you will never be consistent- your weight at night is going to fluctuate too much based on what you ate that day. Weigh yourself first thing in the morning after you use the restroom and preferably naked before you get in the shower to get your "true weight". I weigh an average of 2lbs less than…

Awesome job- I did W3D2 last night also! It was definitely tough but oddly enough I found the second 3 min run easier than the 1st- I think because I knew it was the last run! I have definitely felt sore abs before while running. Running is amazing because it is a total body workout- your legs get the most work but if oyu…

I'm a little further along since I started earlier than most but I'm sure we will all catch up to each other at some point. I just completed W3D1 and it was a bit challenging but it is all mental for me- I know this. Week 3 was a 5 minute warm up and two reps of the following- 90 second run, 90 sec walk, 3 min run, 3 min…

Thanks everyone for all your advice! I will definitely have to figure out what I'm going to buy next. I drink tons of water- never less than 8 cups a day- but usually more like 10-12+. I don't usually include what i drink during or right after working out into my daily value. I have been using Aveeno moisterizers and have…

From what I remember the last time I looked at the nutrition facts- it has aspartame in it- all diet drinks have it. Really depends on your thoughts on aspartame or other unnatural sugar-free sweetners.

If it's not too late- I'm in too! I started this before and didn't make it past Week 2- I just didn't have the motivation in January. Now that I'm closer to my goal weight and it's almost bikini/shorts season, I have a little more motivation! I am about to complete Week 2- but I did the first 2 weeks in 6 days. I'm sure…

Thanks everyone- it was a huge success for me! Just under 9 lbs away from goal- although I might lower it once I get there...

If you really want to be the most precise, also make sure that you are only logging calories burned in ADDITION to what you would have burned sitting on the couch since MFP already accounts for those. For example- if your resting metabolic rate is 1800 calories, you burn 75 calories an hour doing nothing. If you work out…

I'm 10 lbs away from my goal... 5-10 to be happy and 15-20 to be ecstatic- although I don't really think I will see that ecstatic phase. I don't think my body will let me get that low. Hopefully I can get to happy though!

Be careful- regular tonic water has 42 calories per 4 oz.... diet tonic water is zero calories but it has sodium in it... Soda water is just carbonated water so it's calorie free. I always thought tonic water was calorie free... but I was surprised to learn it was not!

Agreed! Get some flavored vodka and mix it with soda water and you have a nice little drink for 60 cals per ounce of vodka you have. I'm not a fan of plain vodka and soda but I definitely like the flavors.

I saw that you're zig-zagging your calories to jumpstart your metabolism which I have heard usually works pretty well. I see your daily goal is 1210, and assuming you weigh-in on Friday mornings, I looked at your calories from last Friday to this past Thursday. You went over your limit by 878 calories. The zig-zagging only…

I hear you on that. I started at 2 lbs, then after a couple weeks moved it to 1.5, now I'm at 1lb but I'm only losing an average of 0.5 week. I will see what happens at the next two weigh-ins and then start zig-zagging if it isn't working. My initial goal was only 10 or 11lbs from where I am now, but I'm thinking about…

BUMP- I am thinking the same as you... as I am only losing 0.5/week right now and not too happy. From what I read by doing a search, it seems to work for people and doesn't hurt your metabolism but instead jumpstarts it. I wonder if you're supposed to zig-zag for a few weeks, then eat normally for a while or just zig-zag…

So glad I posted this! I was really expecting to see a lot more posts saying this was a myth, but it sounds like it has definitely worked for many of you so hopefully I will see the same results on my Friday weigh-in. Thanks everyone :) Definitely keep posting- especially if you haven't seen the same positive results!

I'm in!

I definitely have a smaller waist and am greatful that I have the hourglass figure most girls dream about- although mine isn't the prettiest hourglass around, I can get it there with time and hard work :) Thanks everyone for your kind encouragement!

I completely agree with this and thank you :) It's just so hard when the pools open in a month and I'm not feeling how I thought I would this close in! I need to accept that my body has made some amazing changes and keep going on my journey knowing that it will continue to do so. I might not be thrilled when the pools…

Bump- YUM!

For me this is a lifestyle change and not just a "diet". With that said, at 25 with no children, my current lifestyle allows for going out and having drinks. I usually only drink once a week and won't even drink one drink on another night. I have been invited to wine tours with the girls, watching games with the guys,…

Just pepper, or on a salad, or really good with fruit too!

YES! I can't say enough good things about my digital food scale! I rarely use mesauring cups/spoons anymore. So much less of a burden and nothing to clean! If you are on the fence about shelling out the extra for a digital food scale- DO IT! I couldn't survive without the "zero out" function. Here is a perfect example of…

You look absolutely amazing! I am 5'5" now too so was wondering if you could post what you weighed in each picture so I might have a better idea of what I will look like at what weight. I'm 146 now and started at 175... My intial goal was to get to 140 or 135 but I might keep pushing after that!

My ultimate "go-to" is Kraft- Fat Free Zesty Italian. It is my absolutely favorite and in addition to salads, I use it on baby carrots and even use it with deli turkey on a sandwich instead of mayo/mustard or even a piece of romaine lettuce, some deli turkey and a couple drips of the dressing for a super low-cal and…

I have a few thoughts on this, but the bottom line is DO NOT BE discouraged! 1. Prior to MFP I lost about 30 lbs which was about 20% of my starting weight. That is a very large amount! Some people at work noticed and said something but it wasn't until I had lost almost all the weight that people really said something. The…

This site is awesome for calculating your custom Chipotle entree :) http://www.chipotlefan.com/index.php?id=nutrition_calculator Beware- the Tortilla itself is a whopping 290 calories I usually do a salad- no cheese, either sour cream or guac but not both, no rice, either beans or meat, and no dressing (using the salsa…

These are awesome- keep them coming! Something I tried last night that was YUM! Newman's Own 35 Cal wheat bread with a few sprays of Zero Calorie Butter Spray, spinkle of Truvia sweetner (0 cals) and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It is sometimes easier to find things that are fulfilling, nutritious and a good way to spend your…

Sparking wine at 200 cals for the whole bottle?! Where can I buy?! I also do 1200 cals a day- I don't include the little exercise I do everyday which consists of crunches, leg lifts, and pushups. I try to get cardio in as often as I can, but was much better at that about a month ago. I am hoping to restart my C25K…
