  • I was almost 300 when I started my healthy journey. At first I just walked. I couldn't walk very far without getting short of breath but I perservered and stuck with it. My motivation was signing up for a 5k and my only goal was to finish. I did finish in last place but I was proud. I have since done about 10 5k's and 1…
  • Oh man was he talking to me? I am the one huffing and puffing to make it around the track and have my headphones on. I do however look at people but usually not. I am too busy concentrating on my next step. This spoke to my heart deeply! Thanks for posting.
  • ok that is a little over 3 miles per day and since I can do it anyway I want I think I will join in but this month is already close to half done so I can count all the miles I have put in from the beginning. That will take some calculating. I feel a lot of swimming coming on along with zumba and just plain old walking.…
  • That is the best thing you can do for yourself. Don't worry about others around you they are there for themselves not to look at you. Start slow and you will notice the difference. When I started I was almost 300 pounds...44 pounds gone now and I have made some great friends. Perhaps you can even find a gym with a built in…
  • It takes 3500 calories to lose 1 pound, if you eat back everything you worked off then you won't lose you need a deficit somewhere. It all depends on how quickly you want to lose. If you lose it slowly you are more likely to keep it off!
  • OK, I did them when I was 250+ pounds so anyone can do them you just do what you can and each day you get stronger. I am down 41 pounds now but have opted to do a class where the teacher is right in front of me because I don't tend to cheat as much, lol. Being with other people is more motivating to me!
  • Make sure it is in 2 pieces for easier cleaning!
  • I started it and made it to week 3 but unfortunately due to my work schedule...I switch between nights and days...I could not finish it. I have went ahead and done quite a few 5k's and mostly walk them at this point. I am beginning to run farther with each 5k I have done and have taken 8 minutes off of my times just by…
  • Agree, I did about 7 5k's last summer which were mostly walking but now this summer I have already signed up for 1 5k and 1 10 k, I'm looking forward to a half but at this point don't even think about doing a full.
  • I love it. It has taken my many places I never would have went and I've seen a lot of awesome things on the way. We hiked the Smokies and boy was it a workout to get to the waterfall but it was well worth it. You will love it!
  • I also like the Fage and it does come in flavors. If eaten plain it is bitter but with the flavors (honey is my favorite) I love it.
  • Doing the 30 day shred and love it. Ripped in 30 will be next!
  • Its important on your days in between to do some other form of exercise. Crosstraining helps you improve your stamina too. I just started training for a 5k and like you can only run for a few minutes. The crosstraining is helping though.
  • If you have access keep logging everything. If not at least write it down on a piece of paper so you know exactly what you are eating. It will make you think "Gee, do I really need that". Go for a long walk/run on the beach and keep active. I spent 4 nights in DC on a class field trip and managed to get in exercise and…
  • I am new to running and do a mile in 9:30. I am starting to train for a half marathon and have a long ways to go but would be happy with a 10 minute mile.
  • Good luck on your half marathon I want to do Disney's wine and dine half marathon next year. Just starting to run so I have a long ways to go.
  • :flowerforyou: Hang in there it will come with time...remember you didn't get that heavy overnight so it is not going to fall off. One day you will look and say wow is that really me in the mirror!
