Sweating less. Sleeping without a CPAP. Fitting into amusement park ride seats — my 5-year-old loves that one.

Never weighed myself until after my surgery. Now I do it every few days, usually when I'm having a good morning.

Got my sleeve 5 months ago. Biggest surprises in first weeks after surgery were always feeling cold (January in NJ and PA, hello!) after years of sweating, and that I didn't miss drinking carbonated bevs.

Less eating = Less pooping

My favorite breakfast is probably not fit for print here. Usually I have either a Dannon Light & Fit Greek yogurt or Breakstone's Live Active 2% Cottage Cheese. If I have a shake for breakfast, it's an Atkins.

As the father of a Brownie and a Daisy, the Girl Scout cookies this year were everywhere — in the kitchen, garage; I even lugged them to my office to sell to co-workers. And through all of it, I ate only 1 cookie (a Lemonade) and didn't have any cravings!

Today is 6 weeks since my surgery. Some of my old habits (eating fast, eating everything on my plate & not chewing thoroughly) are trying to get the best of me. Another obstacle is that I work the 2nd shift while the rest of the family doesn't, so I miss out on a lot of sleep time because I have to get the kiddies ready…

I went back to work this week, which has been a challenge because I work the second shift and then get up early to get the kids to school – I'm actually up 1 pound. So my net loss is now 47 pounds since my maximum.

Hi. I was sleeved on Jan. 16, 2013 and have lost 38 pounds since my last pre-op weigh-in (my heaviest). I am, 44, married w/ 2 children and – thanks to Facebook – have made no secret about my procedure. Feel free to add me.
