"Yep! And that's the great secret: anyone can do it if they actually do it!" Congratulations to you, coz YOU'RE DOING IT! :D

As said, you can't spot reduce, but I just wanted to join in and whine about fat arms too. I'm fat all over, sure, but somehow my arms are just really the worst! All jiggly-wiggly and oogly-yucky. They're probably proportionate but I would really prefer they be little twiggies. Down with arm fat!

I dunno. Is there ever anything you just can't get over? Someone, somewhere is going to think that whatever that thing is is awfully silly... but hey! It still bugs you! And you have the right to feel bugged by it. Or if nothing ever bugs you, if you're able to 'get over' everything, you need to bottle that up and write a…

Thank you for articulating that so well. :)

I know you would never word it this way, but what you've said can easily be read like this: Your time is too valuable to waste looking up information for yourself, so therefore it's ok to expect that when you post a question everyone who chooses to take time out of their day to respond to it--without being paid or, in many…

No, forums are about discussion. Sometimes it's kind (and sometimes it's not), sometimes it's helpful (and sometimes it's not), and sometimes it's just a bunch of hot air.
-
To be fair, this can just as easily be said about the individual asking the question. We've become so used to instant information, we've forgotten how to research things for ourselves.

Bunny ears.

People on this site, and in the world at large, can certainly stand to be a bit nicer and more polite. However... This is a free site and the information presented in these forums is shared freely. You can learn all you need to know by simply reading and never asking a single question. Not that I'm trying to dissuade you…

I'm a busybody, plus, in one way or another we all pay for everyone else's health care, so you people best get frickin healthy, goshdanggit! (Actually, I really don't care too much, so long as they don't eat MY food).
-
Crazy that someone took the time to map all of that out! Without having looked too closely at the connections and merely looking at the various factors within each group, I can for sure see all kinds of things that lead to (essentially) consuming more energy than burning. Everything really does tie together. Nice find,…

Somewhere along the line, there was a study of some sort or another that suggested that it did. People like studies like that, things that will potentially make weight loss easier, so they clung to the idea. It is specifically the catechins that are supposed to be the hero. Here is one such study, from a cursory glance at…

Absolutely. I don't know about you, but a big part of what got me to the Land of Chubs was simply not moving my body. Every movement you make will burn a little bit of energy. Calorie deficit is king, but exercise, walking, movement of any sort! will help you get there. Good luck!

I believe the technical term for it is "wishful thinking."

Do remember that tomorrow is another day, with new opportunities to make better choices. Don't stop starting again.

I love garlic! I'm not up to eight (and a half!) cloves a day yet, but I eat A LOT of it. Freshly minced! Mmm.

Oh, come on. Small penis jokes are just as hilarious as big women are divorced jokes! But hey, I wasn't looking to be offended I guess. edit: offended, bothered, eye-roll, whatever you choose to call it.
-
If by "we" you mean you, ok. Not being attracted to is one thing, but disliking? Disliking women because they are larger than a particular size. Yeah, sorry, that sounds pretty misogynistic to me. Just because a few special ladies are tolerated due to their perceived aesthetic perfection doesn't mean someone's not a…
-
Oh. What is suggesting that a woman of a certain size or larger is automatically divorced? Aside from, in your opinion, a joke? BTW, if it were the other way around, woman speaking to male sales clerk, I would feel precisely the same way, except I would call it misandry.
-
Making a more or less misogynistic comment to a woman approximately the same size as the target of your 'joke' is not always seen as a joke. Kinda like making comments about the size of a guy's anatomy in relation to his sterling social skills, evidently.
-
Nope, because he made a point of saying it to a sales clerk when it wasn't relevant.
-
Sounds like a guy who needs a girl on the smaller side so some part of his anatomy or another will potentially look big in comparison.

Just wanted to re-quote this. I guess I can understand how someone how is only eating 1200 a day (for whatever reason) and is perfectly content with it would feel that this thread is some kind of attack. There seem to be at least a half dozen of you in this thread, maybe even a whole twelve pack, who fall into that…

Your post was great except for this. This is some sort of blasphemous heretic infidel something really bad and wicked way of speaking. Also it sounds gross. And upsetting. I'm upset. I'm upset and I rarely even drink anymore. This world. What is it coming to? (But overall, great advice!)

Wow, that's kinda depressing really. Were these just from the past hour?

Start small. Or heck, go big. I know the last time around I went big, and man, I KILLED it for several weeks, maybe even a month or two! And then I was like UGH NO MORE. And for four months or so I ate a lot of ice cream and other things that did not help my waistline. A lot. And I chubbed right back out. And then one day…

It would appear that it will all go away if he also cuts out the use of oils entirely. Plus rarely (if ever) eating nuts, avocados, sugar (unless it comes from a whole fruit; juicing or blending will make it lethal.. also, fructose is the devil (although I thought that was the prevalent form in fruit?)), soy, and no coffee…
