  • Hi everyone. I'm Ange and I am from Whangarei. Nice to see other kiwi's around on MFP. Feel free to add me if you like :)
  • I found the documentary fascinating and some of their juices looked quite nice! So I pulled my juicer out and tried one. It is definitely an acquired taste at first but I for one was hooked and still drink them. Depending on what you put in your juice, they can be very filling and you do feel really good after having one.…
  • There you go, you know what you need to change. The night time snacks  Try reducing the amount of non-healthy foods that you keep in the house by replacing them with some healthy options instead, like lots of fruit and high fibre items. Then you won't have to battle with temptation. You might be pleasantly surprised…
  • Someone in the forums mentioned that Jillian recommends taking a break every 3 days by doing a cardio workout at the gym. So that is what I have been doing. 30DS for 2 days, gym, 30DS for 2 days, gym... and so on. Glad I have done that too because I have found that it is giving me a good balance (and boost) each time I…
  • Have you tried varying your exercise routine? I only do two consecutive days of the 30DS and then do a cardio workout at the gym on the third day before returning to 30DS. So, 2 days with Jillian's workout, gym, then return to Jillian's workout again.

  • I always vary my lunches but do tend to eat the same breakfast each day (just a preference because I love it). For breakfast I usually have a diced apple with non-fat yoghurt, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds on top. Have found that to be more satisfying and keeps me full until my morning snack (which is usually a protein…
  • Rather than doing the 30DS everyday, I have been changing it up by only doing 2 days at a time then throwing in a gym workout on the third day before resuming with the 30DS. Have done 4 days of the 30DS so far and feeling great. My energy levels are really high and I don't know if this is due to the exercise regime but my…
  • Well hey, we do spend more time completing paperwork than we do actually teaching so we might get away with the stressed and overworked eating excuse!
  • Don't be disheartened if you do not see results on the weight scale. I haven't lost a single kg but my measurements have gotten smaller, I feel smaller and my energy levels are at an all time high.
  • Been a teacher for about 12 years now. More than happy for any other teachers here to add me. Just let me know who you are when you do, as sometimes I get requests but have no idea how they found me or why they want to add me
  • My typical week: Day 1: 30DS Day 2: 30DS Day 3: Cardio workout at gym Day 4: 30DS <--- I'm here right now Day 5: 30DS Day 6: Cardio workout at gym Day 7: Rest I can't recall where I read it but someone mentioned that Gillian recommends doing a cardio workout every couple of days while you are doing the 30DS.
  • Awww, now if that isn't enough to cheer up those of you who are feeling down about being single on Valentines Day, I don't know what will. Thank you Ben! I completely agree with you too, I think it's just an occasion for retailers to make a bucket load selling flowers and chocolate
  • Well done for surviving day one! I can fully empathise with you all about the endurance side of it, not to mention the pain. Don't worry, it does get easier and you might be pleasantly surprised by how quickly your body adjusts in terms of stamina. Day one was torture but day two really surprised me because I was able to…
  • Thank you! Yes, very happy. That was me racing my students on the beach (I'm a school teacher) and as big as this ole' girl is - amazingly, I won!
  • Water, water and more water. Also make sure that you are getting plenty of protein and fibre (spread it out throughout the day, more at times when you know that your appetite is at it's highest).
  • ..... I survived another day of Gillian's 30 Day Shred workouts!
  • Yep, single here too and not at all phased about it on Valentines Day. Never have understood why we even have such a thing called Valentines Day....
  • Are you adding sugar or sweeteners to them? The reason I ask is because I drink LOTS of green tea throughout the day and there are no calories in them.
  • Yep, I can relate to that. We all have our good and bad days but the main thing is, making sure that we get back on track. It's a lifestyle change and to the OP, you have to really want it and be prepared to work for the results that you are after. MochaMixAZ, love the message in your MFP ticker image!
  • Me too! I have a little skipping thing going on with my legs for those ones
  • My goodness. That is a really low calorie intake. Women need to eat at least 1,200 calories per day, otherwise they risk putting their body in starvation mode because it isn't receiving adequate nutrition.
  • Seeing a family photograph and noticing for the first time, that I was the biggest person in the room.
  • Thank you dtobias8! Good to hear those positive insights from someone who has gotten past the first stage :)
  • Just started with Day 1, level one this morning and my goodness! I have a lot of work to do on my stamina. Had to take a few moments throughout the workout just to catch my breath!
  • I will not miss: - Running out of steam within 5 minutes of playing sport with my kids - Being so slow and breathless during hikes or long walks - Wearing certain clothes in an attempt to hide my heavy weight - Trying to hide myself from the waist down in photographs
  • 5'3, 198. 1790 based on my BMR which is also pretty close to my TDEE of 1,854 with a 20% deficit that takes into account my level of exercise. Both intakes are really high though and realistically, I am almost always under by 200-300.
  • I'll join you. For everyone else joining, feel free to add me as a friend. Would be good to have that easy mode of contact with each other as Jillian tortures us
  • Yep, me too! I like to make my own fruit and veggie juices (combined) so fructose is always high for me. I have read quite a few articles that say the same too. Fructose (sugar found in fruit and vegetables) is fine. It is sucrose (refined, processed, added sugar) that is not.
  • Just read an interesting article and according to The World Health Organization, our intake of added sugars should be no more than 10% of our calories consumed. Added sugar refers to any sugar (natural or otherwise) but does not include sugar that is naturally present in fruits, dairy products and other whole foods. The…
  • Out of curiosity, I added the sugar column to my diary today and almost wished that I hadn't. Couldn't believe how much sugar is in even the healthiest of foods. I've been juicing most of my fruit and vegetables (together) after watching that reboot documentary, thinking it was really good for you but with such a low sugar…
