  • If the recipe is online, the recipe importer feature is a life saver and very quick.
  • As it has been said, whichever one burns more calories, but I will also add: Whichever one you're more likely to do is better. Also, it doesn't have to be one or the other. You can switch it up depending on your day and energy level, or do intervals of going as fast as you can, followed by a few minutes of walking at a…
  • I looked through your diary and the reason why you are having a hard time losing weight is you are destroying your metabolism. You are regularly eating less than 1,000 calories per day. You are starving yourself. Your body is doing everything it can to hold onto fat and calories because it's thinking you're in a food…
  • I was a vegetarian once upon a time, but I am not anymore. However, I do 3 or 4 veggie days a week. I eat kind of clean (except for this last Saturday . . . if you friend me let's jut pretend that didn't happen, k? I was under my calories be soooo dirty!), if by clean you mean lots of fruits and veggies with most meals…
  • Hi there, We just became friends, but I will answer you here in case it's helpful to someone else one of these days. I started in November at 274 and I currently weight 248.6. I generally eat around 2,000-2,500 calories per day. I have lost weight before and gained it back. In my late teen and early 20's I was bulimic and…
  • What I want to add that I don't think was addressed (I stopped reading after page 3), was that it is not your job to be the diet model or diet police for you husband. My husband has some medical problems and every time we tried to lose weight in the past we failed because he put me in the place of "Diet Enforcer" for the…
  • I would love a few more random, active friends who eat to lose. I mean, people who in general eat over 1800 per day (unless you're like 5 feet tall). I have some awesome MFPals who really subscribe to the 1200 calorie diets, but I would like some a few friends who are active AND eat to lose, rather than use extreme…
  • I use the Link armband with MFP and it does automatically make adjustments. It is hard to say what is going on without more information. For instance, if you have dramatically underestimated, or overestimated, you Basal Metabolic Rate here on MFP (chose "sedentary," for the activity level, have it on the lowest deficit…
  • I have been vegetarian in the past, and dabbled in raw food veganism, though I am neither at the moment. I highly recommend the cookbook Vegetarian Cooking For Everyone by Deborah Madison. It is really a great primer for vegetarian cooking, and I use it all the time even now. It won a James Beard Award the year it came out.
  • SW: 274 CW: 249.6 GW: 243 Weigh in Dates: Start of Month (4/01 Tue): 4/05 Sat: 4/12 Sat: 4/19 Sat: 4/26 Sat: End of Month (4/30 Wed): My inspiration for the month is spring wild flowers! The more I am out hiking, the more I will see; the more weight I lose, the less weight I have to carry up mountains with me!
  • I have the BodyMedia Link armband and I love it. I love data, and the reports really give you a lot. I really like that it connects to myfitnesspal and runkeeper. It has been very accurate and helpful for me. You can't wear it in the shower, but that is when I usually charge it. I think it was well worth the money. I…
  • I usually do some kinda of dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, golden raisens, dried apricots) and then brown sugar or real maple syrup. Sometimes I will stir in a tablespoon of peanut butter, or add some walnuts or almonds. I also usually put a teaspoon of butter in it, but never milk because milk is gross, lol.
  • Hi Loopy, I am also morbidly obese, though I recently went from Class 3 obese to Class 2 obese. Woohoo! I will be so excited to just be plain ole' obese. I started in November at 274 and am currently 250 on the dot. My motivation is getting physically in shape. I just got tired of being an arm chair adventurer. I live in…
