I'm a female who has a deskjob who is losing on 1500 calories a day, for reference. 2500 for that lifestile does not seem crazy to me.

If you exercise you want to also eat those calories. So if your mfp goal is 1800, and you exercise away 100, you should be eating 1900. It is probably also a good idea to calculate bmr (basic metabolic rate) and tdee (total daily energy expenditure), to see how that levels with your mfp goals.…

I really don't get the whole "clean"eating thing. What exactly is considered 'dirty'? Ice cream is just some sugar and dairy, which may just be what you need. Also, it seems to me that "Clean" eating can have consequences as well if it doesn't fit your macros. For intance, you could eat bags and bags of beautiful 'clean'…

So you are losing fat, but you would rather see the numbers on the scale change? If you stop exercising and rest your muscles for a while you will probably drop some waterweight. You can also stop weightlifting and up your cardio to burn some muscle and fat, which will also make you weigh less. However I would just focus…

Definitely sounds like disordered eating. Please do contact a psychologist, find one you click with.

I'm very happy with my polar ft40. I like that it has a function that tries to approximate v02max and incorporates that.

Awesome! Good luck. And remember, if you go over some times or something like that - that is not failing. Just pick up and keep going on every day and you are succeeding.

Thanks for your response :) It will probably take time. Something psychologically interesting I've noticed is that I see myself as "fatter" when I use the mirrors I use all the time (that I used when I was fat), but once I see myself in a new location in a unknown (especially full length) mirror, I hardly recognize myself.…

Maybe consider a calory goal of approximately 1500 calories? 1200 is probably way below your BMR, which is probably not the best idea, and may make it harder to sustain. Taking a little longer is not so bad when you feel good and it isn't so hard. Please think about it :3 http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/

There may be (probably) a psychological reason for you to hang on to this weight. Think about it for a while, and maybe seek counseling to sort it out.

Wonderful :) Thank you for sharing, it is very inspiring to me. I've always been overweight as well (and I'm also 25 years old) and it feels so surreal to finally be more or less 'normal' physically. Have you got used to this yet? Do you see yourself as normal/slim/something like that yet? And you look great and glowing !…

Stop singling her out, don't mention her weight at all, stop comparing her. Make healthy changes for the entire family (you probably control most of the food so that is easy, plan fun activities with the familythat include movement, maybe find a sport for each of your kids that they enjoy), this should be about a healthy…

It is no use to debate about whether you were probably over or underestimating when you were eyeballing. Start ACTUALLY weighing your food, limit eating out, stick to the plan and see what happens. If you start losing again, you know you were overestimating. If nothing changes or you still gain weight, come back with…

In a restaurant it can be hard. You get better at estimating the calories in restaurant food when you have estimated the calories in your own cooked meals a lot, and learned about portion sizes and stuff. Personally I don't go out to eat much and when I do I try to compensate with exercise. It seems to work. Estimating…

You seem very panicky about all this. Nowhere in your post however I see if you are counting calories. Are you? It may help you to inform yourself a bit more about how this stuff all works. Read about BMR and TDEE. Read the road map. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/975025-in-place-of-a-road-map-short-n-sweet

There is no way that you are burning 300 calories in 15 minutes with an exercise heart-rate that low. Myfitnesspal is not accurate in exercise calories at all, and it usually overestimates the amount of calories. It also sounds like you are not logging your food very accurately, so start weighing and counting everything…

Some perceptive people that were also losing weight noticed 4 kg (9 pounds) in. Most people just started really noticing at 13 kg (about 28 pounds) lost and when I wore new well fitting clothes.

You are not measuring all over your body. You can lose inches from all kinds of places where you are not measuring, for instance in your face, shoulders, pubic mound, or even around your organs. Edit: I also notice that I find it really hard to measure accurately. When I lose weight my shape changes and it is hard to know…

If you have been avoiding (s)training your back because you are worried about your past hernia, you can always start up more slowly with some bodyweight back-exercises, see how it feels, build some strength. Most important thing you can do for your back is that when you exercise, is that you keep excellent form to prevent…

I agree with reevaluating your calories (eat more). I'm a 5'7 female and I eat more than 1400 to lose weight. Eating too little (below you BMR) can hurt your weightloss in the long run so better adjust it now at the start. You may even see more consistent losses then. More info:…

Not sure how this relates to american sizes, but I used to wear 85 B and now I can fit either 90 A or 80 B.

I would advise you to find a qualified endocrinolgist and dietician, preferably both working together with you. Also, if advice sounds crazy, it most likely is crazy (like cutting out entire foodgroups, or decreasing your calories by huge amounts in a short time).

All my weightloss was like that, its funny because I know where I will lose mostly before I "really" lose it. However, in my case it always meant good things were happening. The jiggle isn't very nice maybe at first, but now I rejoice when I feel it somewhere. Edit: Just want to emphasize that it is not loose skin. My skin…

Thank you for sharing. You can do it! Take control over the beast.

Are you consistently weighing at the same time, same clothes/no clothes, etc? Maybe your bone density has increased because of the exercise and improved diet? Seems like a stretch though :/
-
True, that she is not obese makes it quite unlikely. I think people are just trying to make sense of this, it also seems very unlikely that as she loses inches and clothing sizes she is gaining more and more waterweight :/.

Then I guess the point is it may depend on exactly what kind of exercise the tc is doing that she qualifies as "cardio". Many forms of exercise may include both anaerobic and aerobic stuff.
