The best tip I can give you is to go out and work hard on YOU and be successful in spite of their cruel comments. There will always be people who must put down others to make themselves feel good...avoid those idiots...they are small minded. Lift others up, and be positive. Get your eyes off yourself, except to give…

YEP this...be sure you have adequate protein and trace minerals in your diet all day (especially potassium, magnesium and sodium). Also I would highly encourage a pre-work out drink that has electrolytes and supplemented with BCAA, It will help reduce muscle fatigue. I use Fem Fire, which is specifically designed for women…

I rest one or two days a week, depending on how hard I worked out that week. I have trouble keeping my calorie goals on my rest days when I eat too many carbs. Too many carbs cause blood sugar spikes which makes you tired and hungry and cranky. Watch your carb intake, be sure you are still eating plenty of protein and fat.…

YEP THIS...listen to your body

Yep I swim laps, but at first I started with Water Aerobics and used the pool weights for added resistance. I still do that when I am really tired and can't make all my laps. The water exercises really help increase range of motion and mobility. This in the long run will enable you to move better on land and add…

You are kidding right? Stopping adderall without the supervision of a doctor is one of the most dangerous things you can do, and did you even bother reading the warning label??? Ask your doctor, not this board what could happen! If you can not have caffeine with this supplement you sure as he|| should not be using it with…

As a rule I am a big believer in hitting macro targets, not just because of weight loss, but because of general physical and mental health and wellness. Macro balance has more to do with my ability to lose weight rather than contributing to the actual chemistry of weight loss. For example blood sugar spikes caused by…

If this is all you can start with then do what you can do. I have a friend with a neck injury and this is all she can do. With that being said, I think I would buy something that you can increase weight. Because you do need to work UP so you can build strength. But do it safely. I would encourage you to do one exercise…

YEP THIS! I think this is the best advice you were given. Muscle tissue is so important and you can not do that well if you totally focus on losing. You can lose weight and reduce lean tissue damage (by lifting hard and eating enough protein), but it is really hard to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time. Many…

I swim 2-5 days a week for 30 to 45 minutes, about 25-35 laps (25 meters). It is my secondary cardio, in that I always do it after Spinning for 45-50 minutes or after my strength training. I love swimming. It was really hard to start because I was so out of shape and weak, but now I am glad I got back into it. I swam as…

Yeah I do too, sometimes...it is my favorite after workout snack LOL. I love ice cream. I know it is like the devil for some on the board, but I have had it almost every week, once or twice and still managed to lose 40 lbs...granted I drink almost 30 grams of protein to balance the sugar spike I am going to get.

Zumba is definitely my favorite gym class, but with a bum knee I have had to forgo it for a while. Really miss it. Strength? Yes, muscle? Not really... It does however provide an amazing workout and tones what you have in a very fast and effective and FUN way. It can make you stronger, and it is awesome for balance but it…

Thanks guys, this is what I am looking for.

Just expect to bloat a little a few days and move on...sodium is only a problem if you have really high blood pressure. If you exercise regularly sodium is not that big of an issue unless you are eating crystals of it every day. That sweat burns right through all the sodium. Just don't over do it all the time...

Something that helps my hunger after swimming is a protein/fiber/mct/greens shake. I do it as soon as I get out of the pool, it zaps hunger fast so that when I do sit down to a meal I am not consuming 5000 cals in one sitting. I agree swimming makes you ravenous. Just a good sign that it is an awesome workout.

Thanks Chris for responding. I have been looking for research that verifies the before bed shake. I know it comes from people saying that we need protein when we sleep to make muscle but I am beginning to think it would just be better to let my body completely fast at sleep so it dips into the fat storage for muscle…

How do you know that they overestimate calories burned? From my weight loss my polar has been pretty spot on, even when it tells me I have burned 800 calories from Spinning...I have never felt that my Polar was off by all that much. The key though is to realize that even if you were not exercising you would be burning…

I would always trust a chest strap over a watch...the device is much more accurate. Polars are known for accuracy.

There are a lot of things that cause fatigue...the number one culprit on a diet is not eating enough each day... Also too much stimulate can cause adrenal fatigue. You should research it. It might not just be detoxing from high energy drinks...

No he did not that is a lie promoted by anti-low carb opponents. He died because he fell on ice and hit his head and went into coma and was over 70 freaking years old. He had a GENETIC heart defect that caused cardiovascular disease which he control by, guess WHAT...a low carb diet! He lived longer using his method than he…

On cardio days my carbs are higher (about 125) and on my strength days my carbs are lower (under 100) and my fat is higher (around 70-80)...my protein is always the same...150-200, always more than anything else unless it is a re-feed day (cheat day) I have found this ensures performance in the gym and weight loss on the…

LOVE this quote, reminds me of the Friar on Kevin Costner's Robin Hood Movie... Friar Tuck: This is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord intended a more divine means of consumption. Let us give praise to our maker and glory to his bounty by learning about... BEER.
-
YEP this...if you like drinking (and yeah I do sometimes) pick a day...and drink to your heart's content, but within your calories... On every other day that you want beer go for something with flavor I am finding that I really enjoy a small pint of craft beer and just barely get through it because it is so…

Then I would definitely agree with the box squat idea if you want to chance it...they are fairly safe, but have a spotter (of course). I opted a week after my injury to take off the brace and I have not put it back on, and won't until my surgery. I taped my knee for about two months using k-tape, even that I stopped...my…

Yep this...you can also you use a TDEE calculator and just subtract 20 percent, then eat back half the exercise calories...tons of them online, I like the one used on this site: http://rippedbody.jp/, but I do Intermittent Fasting Listen to your body...are you hungry??? Eat your calories. Not hungry? Then go without. I…

Taking certain fiber sometimes makes it worse for me. 5 cups of veggies, and 2 fruits every day seems to fix this issue, but I can't always get it in so I use Chia/Flax blend called Decent Blend from Spectrum...really good if you like Coconut and Cocoa. Also before you go to bed and first thing in the morning drink a cup…

Actually testing fitness is one of the best things about polar. It knows when you need to reduce or increase your effort based on your general fitness. I had a day where I went to the gym a little "off". I got on the spinner and though I didn't know exactly what was wrong I thought I would "push past it" . I tested myself…

I don't know but mine are not chalky... I use Pro7tein Synthesis from Nutri-Shop, it taste great and is probably my favorite whey blend protein. If you don't have a Nuti-Shop nearby I found Dymatize Elite pretty good for the price...pretty sweet and a lot like chocolate milk to me, especially when I add MCT to it. I hear…

This..I LOVE this stuff....I even cook Thai food with it... I wish I could talk the company into doing a similar thing with Hazelnuts so you have a nutella replacement...

YES exactly ;)
