You may be 25 but you're thinking like a 15 year old. Their world revolves around what other people say. If your students even notice the change they or the next class will find something else to rag on you about. Will you get a nose job, your teeth fixed or skin peeled? You have a respect problem, not a BMI problem. Any…

If you can afford to buy yourself junk food you can afford to eat less of it. That is all you need to lose weight. You don't have to eat organic, gluten free, vegan or any cockamamie special food. Eat fewer calories in a day than your body burns. If you aren't ready to lose weight at this time then just admit it. Other…

After watching a couple episodes of "My 600 pound Life" I decided not to go there. Seeing someone trapped in a stinky couch, having 4 boxes of pizza and a giant family-sized brownie delivered for themselves keeps me mindful of portion control. If you truly cannot stop yourself at a small bowl of ice cream then you best not…

Water for weight loss is way over rated. If you need something to do with your hands get a water bottle and squeeze the water out to drink it. If you like going to the bathroom, drink a gallon of water a day. If you like people asking you what to drink if you give up diet soda, drink water and tell them "I drink water".…

Depends on how long you want to keep the fat off. Unsustainable, fad diets work for short term weight loss. If you want to keep the fat off for life, you have to eat in a way you can keep doing for life. 1000 to 1500 calories for a normal sized male (not a dwarf of somesuch) is not sustainable

I LOVE YOU. And yes, I was yelling to my computer. I totally get the occasional typo, but seriously, on a weight loss site not to know how to spell lose????? I don't even open those threads anymore.

Because they're not losing weight. You don't need to know any of that other stuff. It's probably inaccurate anyway. If you are eating less than your body needs you will lose weight. Very simple and not at all dangerous. Your body knows what it needs no matter what you think you are eating or logging on MFP. I don't need a…

My wife just turned me on to fresh guacamole dip and baked Tostito scoops. OMG! Who knew? What a WOW of a snack. I am gonna have to learn how to make this stuff myself.

Obviously you are trying very hard to find snark. Every one of the posts have been helpful based on what someone knows and probably got from MFP. Who wants help from someone as opinionated as you. Now, that's snark. You're welcome.

I'm not a motivational speaker, just a realist. If you are not losing weight, you are eating too much. Do you get nasty with your clock when it tells you it's 9 oclock?
-
You are eating too much. Based on the activity you are able to do, you have to consume less if you want to lose weight. Weight loss is mostly about calories consumed not calories burned. Some people would say it's 80% food, 20% exercise.
-
Fat people eat too much. Some people just deserve to be fat.

"How much weight do you need to lose and have you yo - yo dieted in the past? It may be you are not eating enough if you are exercising and your body has gone in to starvation mode or if you have dieted before your body may just be hanging on to the weight for a couple of weeks to see if you are going to stick with it.…

Tubes used for blood draws vary from 3-10 ml each. If you average it out to 7ml per vial, that's 35 ml. A unit of donated blood has 450 - 500 mls of blood. The phlebotomist is waaaay off. To put it in perspective, 30ml is approx. 1 oz. Really not that much.

You are missing the point on weight loss surgery. You don't have to eat a low calorie diet, just smaller portions. People who fail after the surgery eat or drink small portions of high calorie foods over and over. If they try hard enough, they stretch out the small pouch of a stomach the surgery created and can eat larger…

I had a Russell Stover solid chocolate bunny.

Totally inaccurate and useless.

#7 is so right on! Habit. The food association with driving, watching TV, just getting home from work ...... I am rarely actually hungry. When I am involved with a project painting, cleaning, yard work, etc. I can go all day without even thinking about eating, but the minute I get the slightest bit bored and I am all about…

You mean the stuff I put in my mouth, chew and swallow? Or just log that I ate one apple when I really ate 3 apple fritters?

You have to permanently change your eating habits for the surgery to be permanently successful. The complications of gastric surgery are too gross to talk about here. I work in a surgical recovery room and have seen the outcomes the doctors don't like to talk about. One doc saved the little bitty staple that the patient…

I do not trust all the extra calories my Fitbit gives me. I log my exercise time and manually input the number of calories I think are reasonable based on the gym elliptical estimate, MFP estimate and Fitness Partner (http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner) estimate. Those extra calories look good on my home page and…

I thought people were jumping on the fact she gets up at 2am and not realize she goes to bed at 7pm or earlier so, 2am is not such an "insane" time as assumed.

I can gain half a pound in 10 seconds. I get on my scale, get a weight, get off the scale, reset it, get back on and there is a half pound difference. How did I change that much? Is it because I gained muscle twitching my foot waiting for the scale to reset?

I don't think OP says anything about not getting enough sleep, so that is not the issue. MIssing yummy foods and not seeing results stand out as what is causing her to feel like giving up. Too much restriction can lead to a deprivation mentality. I can't eat this, I can't eat that. I have to get up at 2am to go to the gym,…

I can't stop watching the calligraphy writer over and over and over and over ......

Unless someone is with you 24/7 they don't really know what you are doing / eating. If you didn't ask for their comment then they can go back to minding their own business. OR you could say something polite like "I'm taking very good care of myself and have never felt better."
-
Hey, that was easy. Thanks.

OMG. The mental image of you eating your own arm really got me to laughing. Sorry, I'm just sick I guess. LOL
