  • They look easier to run on. I would think they would burn less calories.
  • Three eggs scrambled with a TBSP of bacon bits = 245 cal Kroger Ham, egg, cheese english muffin = 210 cal (comes frozen) I thaw it out in the fridge the night before and it nukes in 45 seconds.
  • I floss, brush my teeth and use one of those non-alcohol anti-plaque rinses. After all that I don't want to get my teeth scummy again and food tastes pretty icky for awhile anyway.
  • Check my profile and if you want you can add me. I am working toward being 204 with an eventual goal of 161.
  • Now that makes sense.
  • OMG I can't believe this was just posted. I had a super craving for tuna salad, and had no idea what was in it so I googled it and made my own. Yes, it can be very simple or as complex as you want. I had a pouch of water packed tuna, added Miracle Whip Light, sweet pickle relish and a hard boiled egg. Delish! Some of the…
  • My exercise calories are "icing on the cake". I keep the MFP calorie goal as my target and don't automatically add in any exercise calories. I note the calories on the elliptical (550), plus MFP for circuit training (210), Fitbit (890) then guesstimate at 600 and enter that just to take credit for going to the gym. At my…
  • I'm a monster with Diet Dr. Pepper. I could easily drink 2 liters (or more) a day. That's six to eight 12oz bottles a day (at .50 to .75 per bottle) I quit cold turkey on New Year's Day. Monster headache Jan 2nd. One swig and 10 minutes later cured. Now I have quit in moderation. I have two 12oz bottles a day. To save even…
  • It's a myth (8 glasses of water a day) that has been debunked over and over. Just won't die.
  • I do the same thing. Just stick with the original calorie goal and let the exercise calories pile up. My purpose for exercising is not to eat more or punish myself for having eaten more. I want to get back into shape so I can enjoy my hiking and biking without being all out of breath and my joints hurting. A hike in the…
  • I don't think everyone knows what linear means.
  • Boy, this sure sounds familiar. Isn't there another thread where people don't believe you walk that much??
  • Logging calories on MFP and actually weighing out your food is completely different. I had always assumed this would be completely obvious. (palm to forehead gesture) Guess we all gotta learn.
  • I assumed it was OP's attempt to make an arbitrary date less arbitrary by attaching a name to it. I don't think she has any intention of changing her lifestyle.
  • I was on Metformin for awhile strictly to help with weight loss as I am not diabetic. I've lost more weight in 6 weeks using MFP than I did in 6 months on Metformin. And my blood sugar is lower without it.
  • Agree, what you call something matters. That said, my wife and I call it a Bonus Meal and it is just that. Something extra and just for one meal. We usually go out so, no leftovers, no take home, no dishes. We recently went to a birthday party and expected finger treats which we planned to skip and then go out for a…
  • I'm taking my ChargeHR to the gym right now to add some steps and burn. Makin' my OCD work for me!
  • That's it!!!! You're a genius, 3R4H56 (Can I call you 3R4H56 for short?) Thanks, www.fitbit.com/user/49JBQC
  • This an embarrassingly stupid question even for a newbie. Do tell: How do you know your fitbit user name if I did want to participate in a challenge?
  • Did you mean third degree heart block? That is a conduction defect that CAN be caused by certain medications that is entirely reversible. However, since they put in a pacemaker you have the ultimate treatment for third degree heart block. Why the need for anti-inflammatory diet?
  • Yeah, I had the exercise ball thing while attempting to sit on it, I fell off, shooting the ball into some girl doing step ups. She screamed, looked around and saw dumb me sitting on the floor with a big smile and the "sorry" look. She kicked the ball back my way and I tried again. She was watching me this time.......…
  • I weigh less when I stand straight up vs. hunching over to see the numbers fluctuate.
  • Slow, sustainable weight loss is boring and doesn't sell magazines. Flashy, unrealistic gimmicks get people's attention and money. A beautiful humbling quote ("Comparison is the thief of joy") thank you for the reminder. I also liked "Sometimes we need to adjust our expectations" (also from jkal1970)
  • I think it's a response to those posts about someone lifting weights for three weeks, whining about not losing weight and getting a response that they're gaining so much muscle that it weighs more than the fat they've lost, blah da blah. That does indeed get old.
  • Oh Man, what a find! Paraphrasing a great quote "I absolutely wanna make out with this thread, I love it so much." A polite intelligent discussion. The thought of taking personal responsibility. I'm coocoo for these Coco Puffs. I don't drink alcohol anymore. I believe if I started I couldn't stop and would quickly ruin the…
  • Last time I lost a significant amount of weight it was at about 20 lbs when people started noticing. This year I've gone from 254 to 233 (21lbs) and no one has said anything yet. I sure notice the difference though. It doesn't hurt my feet so much to work 12 shifts, I can fit into a size XXL scrub instead of XXXL! My wife…
  • What do you think about? Depends on what I see. My mind can easily take many tangents. "Boy those people sure put a lot of work into that yard", "I bet that treehouse was fun to build", "Why do people have to ruin the trail by taking shortcuts and ripping up the vegetation?", "I wonder if there is a decomposing body over…
  • So totally with you on this one. What a distraction. Heed the mighty MFP wisdom. Ignore co-worker.
  • Yeah, I adjusted my sodium to 4gm. Now I never/rarely go over. The light Balsamic Vinegrette does me in most of the time. Don't wet your pants. The water weight comes off in your urine in a couple of days. If a sauna feels good, do it. It's just water redistribution. If you just feel bad after eating Chinese food, might…
  • I just bought mine through Walmart. I want it to work but if it doesn't I'll be taking it back. I returned a Garmin Viviofit2 last week because it wouldn't pair with my computer. Full refund, no muss, no fuss.
