  • I'm a sabre fencer who is sadly in need of a new club, as mine closed last summer. I'm not really happy with my other fencing options nearby, so I've been seriously considering trying TKD, mainly because I can do so right around the corner from home.
  • Vikings marathon on History channel. Ought to do something more productive, but what's the fun in that?
  • VIkings is my #1 - I don't think I've ever loved a tv character as much as I love Floki. I enjoy Grimm, Hannibal, Once Upon a Time, and Sleepy Hollow, as well...and we never miss a SportingKC game - if we can't make it to a game in person, we always watch at home.
  • I never make a smoothie that doesn't have a big handful of spinach thrown in. Spinach is also yummy in scrambled eggs or tossed on just about any sandwich. Jicama is a great tasty replacement for tortilla chips with any dip. I'm also fourthing? fifthing? (I lost count) the roasting idea, though. I made a batch that covers…
  • Four sons here - 14, 8, 7, 3. Glad to be friends with anyone who's looking for more. :)
  • Avoid at all costs - I agree. I've had the comments when not pregnant before, too, and it's so embarrassing. On the flip side, the lady I worked out with most often at my old fencing club had no idea that I was pregnant with my fourth until I was more than 6 months along...and then freaked out about fencing with me,…
  • Jicama, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, zucchini, and yellow summer squash for veggies, though there are very few I won't eat. Kiwi, strawberries, banana, and Jonathan apples for fruit. I don't care for melon of any type, but will eat just about any other fruit.
  • Hey, I'm also nearly 34, and mom of four. My youngest is now three, so it's long past time that I work on getting back in shape. Glad to be friends and chat with either or both of you. :)
  • Jicama! So good with any dip that tortilla chips are good with.
  • I'm 5'4" and 190, very top-heavy, and wear mainly a US 14, with an occasional 12 in pants.
  • I'm in a similar boat, too. Lost a fair amount of weight here on another account, got complacent and gained it all back. I'm now 5'4 and 190, looking to get to 135-140 eventually.
  • I love going ANYWHERE by myself. Having four kids home all day every day will do that to a person. But yeah, I love to go out for a meal alone, travel alone, see a movie alone. None of it bothers me a bit.
  • You took the words straight from my mouth. Or fingers, whatever.
  • I do leftovers for lunch a lot, and always have a big bowl of roasted veggies cooked to add to them. Today - a bit of leftover pork chop from last night, a pile of my current batch of veggies (cauliflower, red bell pepper, zucchini, and yellow summer squash this time), and a salad of romaine with Caesar dressing and garlic…
  • Just got home from watching one of the most depressing games I've ever seen (at least I had great company), so I"m in a bit of a foul mood. **** You, It's Over - Glasvegas
  • Sporting KC and FC Bayern München Oh, wait? You're talking about American football? :grumble:
  • This. My 14 year old is 6'1 and still growing fast. He was taller than me before he turned 10. My nearly 9 year old already is chin-height on me, so I'm sure I'll have two towering over me before I know it.
  • I'm a medical professional and work best under pressure. Years of fencing experience, so I'm pretty darn useful with a sword. I can cook and knit anything you want.
  • Yep, this. And like another previous poster, I'm always open to friend requests.
  • My preference is to chop up a whole bunch of different veggies, drizzle them with a little olive oil, chopped garlic, pepper, and either salt or a tiny sprinkling of freshly grated parmesan or romano cheese, and throw them in a really hot oven just until they're tender. I tend to be forgetful and often accidentally let…
  • My reading is all over the place... Images: My Life in Film by Ingmar Bergman Snabba Cash by Jens Lapidus (which is taking me forever, because I'm stubborn and determined to read it in Swedish rather than buy a translated copy and my Swedish is decent but certainly not perfect, but I'm loving the story.) Northanger Abbey…
  • I'm another who likes a physical copy for the liner notes and to play in my too-old-to-be-cool car. Last I bought was The Ceremonies' EP at a show a few weeks ago. Last full length I bought was Avicii's True for my music obsessed 7 year old, and the last full length for myself was probably Glasvegas's Later When the TV…
  • Oh no, it appears that I've killed this thread I liked it so much...it can't really be dead. Please come and play, it's fun to rhyme Otherwise I might wisely use my time! Ha, be productive? Surely I jest... Wasting time online is my favorite quest.
  • Get Off - The Dandy Warhols
  • Ah yes, nap time it is for the sick little guy but for his brothers a nap just will not fly. Though it matters not, because on this day I'm off to nap with him - they'll have to go play. The teen and the husband, they will make do and supervise both of the wild middle two. Perhaps I can even make them fix our dinner? A nap…
  • Before this week I wasn't brave enough to venture into this forum for it seemed rough But now I am here and I've found this great thread And I've laughed 'til I've cried and then shook my head You're stuck with me now, I hope you don't mind I had no idea that HERE my people I'd find... I have a sick, coughing kid - he is…
  • Post game from the Sporting KC game. Just about ready to turn it off in favor of Land of Gathering by The Ceremonies.
  • The new Robocop. Before that, Kon Tiki.
  • Go Square Go - Glasvegas Lots and lots of Glasvegas, really, but that's the one that pops to mind first as a great workout song.
  • Where to start, where to start...most of mine aren't the stereotypical geeky or nerdy interests, but they are intense and sometimes odd. The poster way at the beginning of the thread that wanted to be a shieldmaiden since she can't be a valkyrie? I'm right there with you. My oldest son and I took up sabre fencing years ago…
