Seltzer with a little fruit taste (i.e. Polar brand). No sweeteners or unnatural anything. We go through about 10 liters a week. And tons of water besides.

It would be kind to let her know in advance that you won't be partaking, unless this is a large party. Heaven forbid she makes a pie just for you and you don't touch it. You'd be hearing about it until the day she dies, and possibly after. Me, I love fresh blueberry pie, with whipped cream. I'd make room but leave some of…

The goal is 20-30% of calories, so 25% is perfect. Keep your saturated fat below 10%, lower if you have any heart disease risk. High saturated fat is indicated as a factor in clogged arteries and other heart ailments.

How much protein are you consuming now, and how much of an increase do you need? If you're not sure, check with a dietician. It's very easy to consume 100g of protein per day by taking some in at each meal and maybe as a snack. Easy sources of protein include cooked chicken or beef, yogurt, cottage cheese, and tuna. All…

5'2", lost 20.5 lbs, still waiting to drop a size. However, I no longer have to suck in to fasten my jeans so there is definite improvement. Most of my loss is below the waist so it doesn't really impact clothes sizes yet. I just have a baggy behind.

All calorie burns are included under cardio, even weight lifting. Strength is just for sets and reps.

Stick something in the oven, a chicken or roast, and then go run. Fix salad and prep dinner the previous evening. Brown rice pilaf would be done just about the time your run is finished. Better yet, ask the fiance to grill up some steaks or fish. Get him in the kitchen so you won't always be the one doing the cooking.…

Salad with tuna or other protein is my main-stay, or left-overs. Lean Cuisines aren't great but how can anyone say "they have too many carbs"? There's a gajillion varieties. Did s/he say how many carbs you should have at lunch?

Dang - now I want sushi. Those pictures look so good!

I was there yesterday. Go for volume - fresh raw vegetables with humus works great for me, or celery with salsa and yogurt. A tossed salad with meat or tuna will fill your stomach without adding a lot of calories. And I agree with the others - eat all of your calories. If this happens often your body is telling you it…

If you want to try a variety look for a Rainbow Roll. It's a California roll with sashimi and avocado wrapped around it. It's very colorful and fun and you can try several different flavors. You'll typically get salmon, tuna, snapper, and halibut or other white fish. Sushi does have a lot of carbs as do the usual sides so…

Like you, I believe children should be exposed to good healthy food. We've never made different meals and we still don't. We cook the same foods as always but I watch portions and occasionally omit the starchy side if it doesn't fit. We all cook, depending on who's home and when. Currently I'm working from home so I cook…

Log it as you go. Four days won't totally unravel your eating plan but for future reference you'll want to know what happened that week that slowed/stalled your weight loss. This is real life, and it sounds like a fun trip. Don't necessily put fast food off-limits. After all, your friend has needs to. Figure out what you…

Can anyone comment on the "fitness training"? The local PF looks like a warehouse with tons of equipment and I don't know how to use any of it, except the free weights. Mostly I'm interested in options for strength training and occasional use of the treadmill, particularly when I'm traveling. I'm not a fan of classes.

I usually prefer to go with the real thing rather than an imitation. The Rice Krispie chicken is much higher in calories and carbs than the traditional version, and only slightly lower in fat. It is far easier to clean up after, though. DD likes to dip chicken tenders in FF Ranch dressing and then panko crumbs, and cook…

You won't lose every week. Sometimes you'll go down, sometimes you'll go up. It's important to keep a slow, steady weight loss in order to succeed and keep the weight off. This entire site is "peer reviewed". When there are thousands of people successfully losing weight at 1 pound per week and feeling great you have to see…

We're all thinking of you. Boston is one of our favorite cities and we've been glued to the news all week.

Everyone feels this way from time to time; it's perfectly normal. Even people we think are 10's have their insecurities. Take a good long look at yourself in the mirror. See the beautiful hair, pretty face, loving eyes. Find something about your figure that you can feel positive about - just one thing. Ask your boyfriend…

Very inspiring! Congratulations - and let us know when you reach 100

I suggest you double check your Subway values. The bread alone is 200 calories, so with cheese it would be quite a bit higher. Generally speaking, MFP is populated by users so the values can be incorrect for any number of reasons. There are multiple countries involved, they may have omitted something from the description,…

You're aware of what you're doing so it's likely not a sleep disorder. You're very close to goal - are you at all nervous about the change in your life, or are there other stressors? I assume you're not on Ambien or any other sleep aid. You need to exercise the same willpower at night that you exhibit during the day. Keep…

First off, this isn't just an area for positive thoughts. This is where you go for support and motivation when you need it. We're all in this together and we're here for you. Have a sit down talk with your husband, after the kids are in bed. Tell him how hard this is for you and ask for his assistance. Emphasize that you…

Grill it. Look for cedar planks at the kitchen store if you really want to make an impression. There will be recipe included, and the planks are reusable. It's a very impressive service. We like to use McCormick GrillMates Smokehouse Maple seasoning. Just a bit gives a nice flavor to the fish.

What is your caloric deficit? Assuming it's 500 calories per day that would be 1 pound per week, in a perfect world. May be more or less, depends on a lot of factors. So, say 16-20 pounds. One pound a week is reasonable and sustainable, and you'll still feel great (but you will likely lose some of the boobs). It's good to…

Veggie lasagna? DD makes this version which is really yummy. The mushrooms satisfy my carnivore husband. http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/cook-yourself-thin/recipes/spinach-and-mushroom-veggie-lasagna Since Mom is a vegetarian the kids are likely used to bean dishes. A bean or grain based soup will satisfy and can be frozen…

^^This Obviously something has changed. He's putting this on you because it's easier than owning up to the real issue. It could be work/school or he may be having some other problems not related to women and the bedroom. Please don't lose weight or change yourself in any other way for him. It needs to be for you. If he…

If you currently have weight to lose it can help. As little as 20 pounds can take off the pressure from your stomach. I'm sure you already avoid tight clothing. Mint, including the flavoring in minty Tums can cause reflux as it relaxes the stomach opening. Have you had an endoscopy? It's possible you are suffering from a…

Finally, an honest answer. No medical evidence, just some guys talking around the weight rack. That makes perfectly good sense.

I have more of an understanding than you do, apparently. I can actually read the comments of others. Nothing was said about maintenance; the example was for a woman eating at a deficit. If you don't have a source then please do not propigate misinformation. You are doing a disservice to the good people on this forum.…

I said it could be harmful to the obese - not to everyone. Why are you unwilling to reveal your source. Could it be that there isn't one? If you put a little more effort into answering the question at hand and less being on the offensive
