I never thought in a million years that I would be the person that could say "in less than 2 lbs I will have lost 100 lbs", but I can say that now. My starting goal was to lose 65 lb and then to go from there.
Fourteen months ago I went to the Dr and she told me that I would have to start on blood pressure meds to get my bp down in the normal range. I left there a bit stunned because while I knew I was heavy I did not want to admit to myself that at 34 I had let myself get to a point of a needing meds. Needless to say, I left there that day and made the decision that the only person that could change this was me and that I would have to take a hard look at where I really was and what that really meant.....It meant that I had a BMI of 37 and was pretty far into the obesity side of things.....It also meant that I could barely make it 1.5 miles without being out of breath and getting pissed at myself for letting it get this bad. Things HAD to change!
A year later I have lost 98lbs and can hang with the best of them at the gym. I can run 3 miles without stopping, I can do pushups like they are going out of style(could barely do 2 at first) and can lift more than I thought I was capable of. I went from a size 20/22 down to a 6/8 and weigh less than I did as a teenager.
I am not going to sugar coat it and say it will be easy because it is not, but you know what it is certainly worth it. It is worth it to love yourself and to think enough of your health to not give up.
Will it be hard-100%-Remember that it is possible and to take it one day and 1 lb at a time.
Will it be easy-Nope-it will be worth it when you see how strong you become and really get to see how capable you are and how you are changing.
Will you struggle-At times yes, but DON'T give up.....you are worth it and you WILL get there.
Will you hate the scale-Sure you will, take measurements and go by that as well.
Will you struggle with feeling weak-Probably, but we all have to start somewhere and it is not where you start....it is where you end up. Don't expect to be able to do everything at first. Be kind to yourself and really accept where you are and set yourself a goal.
Will it be frustrating-Definitely, but sticking to the process WILL work. If something does not work then change it up a little and go from there.
Will it be quick-Not so much. When the scale seems to drag look at your other progress and focus on that as well. The scale is a number only and it is not the end all be all.
Will it be worth it-Most definitely, because you are worth it and you deserve to be healthy.

I find it so inspiring to read your story. I am just starting out (yesterday) and I feel overwhelmed that 50 pounds will take forever and all of the other negative self talk that goes along with it. To see 100 lbs 1 year later - I can not imagine the kind of will that must have taken! I am in awe of you right now! It was hard as hell to resist a piece of pie last night, a whole year of dedication is something to aspire to!0
