  • There is yoga in P90x. I hate it because I am so inflexible that I can barely manage but I make myself do it because apparently it's important. It is not my exercise regime that I need help with - more my nutrition and the amount I should be eating to get the body I want
  • I do. So I can put more cheese inside my omelette
  • I have to give the cakes away. I love baking and I have no willpower :-( Yesterday I made brownies to take to work and I ate so many of them as I was packing them to take in :noway:
  • Don't apologise - you should see some of my posts from when I joined this site :indifferent: I came here because I knew my family and friends were getting sick of my behaviour but I still needed somewhere to get my feelings out. I have everything crossed for your new job, not just fingers
  • P.S - I think we all look at others and think "I wish I was like that" or "I wish I didn't care". I do it every day at least once! But I've had people say to me "I wish I had your motivation" and things like that so I try and turn the fact that I do care about food and exercise into a positive. My mum always says that…
  • Oh you sound so miserable :frown: I feel for you. I felt like that after years and years of trying to get a flat tummy, eating 1,200 calories, trying every silly diet going/running miles and miles every day for months on end/living at the gym/denying myself the foods I love then binging and feeling guilty. All it did was…
  • It's interesting to see what everyone is doing  I'm a 5'8" female and I eat between 1800 - 2500 a day, anything less than 1800 and I feel awful! It's usually around 2000 but if I have a cheat day (which has been known to run into the 4000s :embarassed: ) I will drop it down to 1,800 for a few days.
  • I don't know how to add pics onto a thread but - my profile picture is the result of six months of lifting. I was a marathon running cardio bunny before and was definitely the embodiment of the phrase "skinny fat". I've never had any definition in my stomach until now (I had a real pot belly before which meant I had to buy…
  • I'll take some if you like..I haven't got any! :frown:
  • Well done! You've just used a bunch of muscles that didn't know they were born until now so you will ache for a couple of days. Soon you'll be craving that burn and looking for new ways to get it (and you'll also learn the sharp, "stop that RIGHT NOW" pain that means injury...) Two down, 28 to go
  • I have gained muscle and definition in my tummy from changing my diet to 40c/30c/30f and incorporating bodyweight exercises into my training routine - as well as some exercises with 4/5kg dumbbells (Focus T25 Gamma, it's a Beachbody program). I would love to "lift heavy" and do a program like NROLFW, I really would, but I…
  • This is brilliant. I read it just before I went out for a 5k run....and quite a few popped into my head as I pushed my way round. Mostly: 54. Honestly, I don’t even like running. 55. Why do I even run? 56. Why does anyone even run? over and over again. Then I stopped as my GPS watch reached 5k, got my breath back, saw I'd…
  • London. Because I get it pretty much all the time at work. "you need to put on a few pounds/eat a burger/get some curves". I have never replied with "well perhaps YOU need to put down that cake and mind your own business" because THAT would be considered rude! I need to move to where you live
  • There is some really good advice here  including an often overlooked piece of advice - make sure you get in the appropriate place at the start line for the pace you intend to run at. If in doubt, go to the back - then you can overtake people  . People at the very front will want every second to count and will…

  • When you start a new exercise routine, you will ache! Work through it and do what you can do whilst keeping the correct form, you should find that it gets easier as the muscles warm up. That said, listen to your body - if you start to feel pain that feels more like "oh help I think I'm about to injure something" pain,…
  • oh my, how did I forget this one!!! "you'd look so much better with a bit of colour". I am a colour. Very pale is a colour...
  • "why aren't you coming to *insert fast food chain* with us, you could do with a burger" - I like burgers, just not the excuses for burgers that those places serve. Come round mine for a BBQ and I'll show you a burger  "why are you going for a run when you are skinny enough already" - I'm not doing it to get skinny,…
  • I'm on the third week of Gamma. I love it because it gives me a resistance training routine to supplement my running (I don't have access to a gym - I live in the middle of nowhere so working out outside or at home are my only options)
  • ^this. The first time I went out for a run at university I managed 2 minutes before I got a stitch and had to quit. I can now run a 5k in just under 20 minutes and I've completed two marathons. You can do anything you set your mind to - but you have to have a little patience  stick at it and the results will come!
  • I experience this exact thing when I have not eaten enough. I used to live my life like that eating 1200 calories a day (yes when I started MFP I was in the 1200 club...I'm fully recovered from that bout of insanity now though) I eat 1800 - 2000 a day on average now, I'm much happier, and the body fat % is still going…
  • Eating Nutella out of the jar. With my fingers. Imagine Winnie-the-Pooh and a honey jar - that's what's going on. I am a disgrace.
  • hahaha it's funny you should post this because yesterday I went out with my boyfriend and I was wearing a dress and heels (I don't normally wear them) and the first thing he said was "oh my god look at your calves!" I finished Insanity in December, went straight to T25 and I'm now 2 weeks into Gamma round....so I guess it…
  • I think I may have just fed a troll....? :noway:
  • I really don't understand what you are talking about. My point was, it is not easy to do a sub 20 minute 5k, you have to work for it - oh and also that the elliptical is not running. I don't see anything about weddings in there. But if I WAS getting married, it probably would help with the walking down the aisle and…
  • The first time I broke 20 mins for a 5k (by 2 seconds, but hey - my Garmin said 19 minutes something so that's good enough for me) it was the result of a lot of training and I felt incredible. By training, I mean sprints and hill work. Elliptical is not running. It may be a workout, and well done for completing the Couch 2…
  • They really are, and I only just realised the truth of this. The fat didn't start to come off my tummy until I started watching my macros as opposed to just calories. I spent ten years thinking I could out train a bad diet...it just isn't possible
  • I used to run 6-10 miles a day, eating only 1000-1200 calories, whilst working full time including 12 hours shifts on my feet some days. When I reached 8 stone (I am 5'8) my period disappeared. That was my wake up call. Got on here, talked to people, changed my eating whilst logging it to make sure I was doing it right…
  • In because I'm also interested in this - I'm only slightly taller but the same weight as the OP, and want to get that last bit of wobble off my tummy (I'm SO nearly where I want to be, I've worked so damn hard and I don't want to ruin everything by losing more scale weight and looking gaunt...been there before and it was…
  • To me, it means you can have a treat each day if it fits your macros, not that you can eat as many "naughty" things as you want. If you did that you'd never hit your macros anyway. If I've had a really clean, low-ish carb day I know I can have some ice cream or cookies in the evening if I fancy it without screwing up my…
