Hunger signals can get screwed up. I'll stick to counting calories. :) Having said that, I think that you need to change how you think about food. There are no "good" or "bad" foods, but there are "good and "bad" regimens. I can fit treats into my regimen and not feel guilty at all because I meet my calories, macro, and…

For strictly weight loss, it's all about how much you eat. You will lose body body fat this way. For lowering body fat percentage/muscle retention while on a deficit, you have to eat enough protein and incorporate some resistance training (lifting heavy is the most popular suggestion).

Great job!! :drinker:

I like to go for dark meat because I prefer the flavor, I can easily fit it into my day, and I get an extra boost of iron (I'm borderline anemic) into my regimen.

Thank you for this. I am going to repeat that first line when a friend or family member comes crying to me. :)

Credit scores are tricky. The more UNUSED available credit you have, the better. You have all this "money" available to you but you don't need to use it. That's what looks good. It can get tricky once you get into ratios, but like I said, it's a complicated game.

I would only do it if 1) the balance transfer was free, 2) it carried a 0% interest for x amount of months, AND 3) I could pay off the entire amount owed within those x amount of months. Run the numbers for both scenarios (balance transfer or no balance transfer, it gets complicated with the time value of money) and see…

I don't know, but I'd like to find out! :drinker:

What the... I don't even...

NOM NOM NOM! I will not discriminate! I will eat all teh foodz!

As long as it fits into my calorie, macro and micro goal, I will drink whatever I want in moderation, of course. Quit guilting people (not just you, by people in general) into thinking that they have to follow restrictive rules in order to reach their goals. There is nothing wrong with my Dr. Pepper 10, red wine, Capri…

This is exactly why I only record new lows. My weight can fluctuate by as much as 7lbs in between a day or two ( thanks to TOM). Water and poop can through me off, but I have to keep reminding myself hat I did NOT eat 3500 calories over my maintenance calories so that pound of weight is not fat.

Uh oh. Do we have a nekkid exerciser over here?? Anyway, I love the apps 7 minute workout and You Are Your Own Gym. I find it hard to get the motivation to workout at home, but the more I verbalize it with my partner, the more likely he will find something do to or somewhere to go while I focus and workout as…

StrongLifts app (although that's more body comp than weight loss) , food scale, endomondo (for running/walking), MapMyRide (for biking) and the You Are Your Own Gym app (when I workout at home, no equipment and I'm not in the mood to run).

Protein bars, nuts, string cheese, beef jerky, granola, maybe some of those 100 calorie packs of... anything that won't melt. If you have tupperware, I would suggest a cold salad. I mixed mexican rice + corn and black bean salad from the deli at my local grocery store. It tastes amazing! I think that it would hold up well…

I don't know how to post a pic, but I think I'm a 17. I'm aiming for an 11, but I'm overall happy with myself now. My blood work is great and I can lift heavy. Trimming fat is my third priority, but it's been a slow go (don't worry, I know why).

Can I please look like this NOW?! Great job OP! :drinker:

I eat 50 - 80% of them.

It can get tricky, especially if you get a roll with high calorie ingredients like avocado, cream cheese, and tempura. I usually get my sushi fresh from Kroger. There's an entry in the database for it by weight (ounces). I just had it yesterday. If I go out to eat sushi, I think that 40 calories per piece is accurate…

I couldn't have said it better myself! :drinker:

I think that most of us here get what you're trying to say despite the title. What you should have done was reach out to the average person who isn't counting calories and macros. Continue to do what you do with your clients and encourage them to try to count their calories, even if it's temporary, just so they can see…

I get my stuff from Amazon.com. It's called About Time. 2lb container for $30-40. I watch for a price drop and get free shipping. They have plenty of yummy flavors. Stay away from GNC! They are such a rip off (even with the membership... at least in my experience).

That wasn't an attack on the person. It was an attack on the statement. Know the difference. :)

Nope!

Try eating more protein. I aim for 0.8-1g per pound of lean body mass (your weight minus fat). Also, what is your height and weight? Chances are that you can eat more than 1200 and still lose weight. Also, stay away from "generic" or "homemade" entries or entries with an asterisk. Double check that the entry you're using…

Wrong. He lost weight because he ate below his TDEE.

I fit treats into my day while hitting my macros... most days. Sunday is my "ignore macros" day and it helps to keep me on track the other 6 days of the week.

That sounds so sad! Portion control is a great thing and can be learned. To the OP: My calorie cutting trick? I only eat foods I find tasty. I am a food snob. I think of my calories as a budget. If something is high on calories, but only tastes "okay", then I turn it down and go for something I enjoy more... and usually…

Even as a beginner, I would still suggest using the free weights all the time. Start with an empty barbell and work up from there. You use more muscles and are forced to do all of the work and balance. You're also safer, in my opinion. I can easily drop my barbell and let it hit the safety bars instead of me. And I'm not…
