You mean daily value? I take supplements for both, but there's lots and lots of plant foods contain both these. Do a search, but, for example, broccoli has about half that of milk. Then there's soy. If I recall correctly, almond milk has twice that of milk.

Thanks for posting!

Right! Or it says No Preservatives,,but has artifical colors, flavors, etc. You do have to read the ingredients bc labels are so tricky. Lousy it's so small tho

My grocery store is hannafod, and they have their own line of all natural foods. They call the line 'nature's place'. Others include: Borowski for bread/english muff, Van's for waffles, Casacdian Farms for frzn fruit & veg and cereal (though Post raisin bran is now all natural), Newman's Own for snacks, salsa, dressing,…

Hi! I agree about trader joe's. The prices are very reasonable, and the selection is often unique. To save money, a lot of things can be bought in bulk. Like the quinoa, or other grains, seeds, dried fruits, etc. Dried beans are a huge money saver. Ive never heard of stone soup either, so looking fwd to that! Also, the…

and fresh herbs like cilantro, rosemary... Dijon brings a ton of flavor too. Doesn't have to be hot to have flavor.

Cumin is a great spice with a ton of strong, smoky flavor. Also curry. Don't underestimate garlic, too...like in pesto.

I have heard of this, but was skeptical to try. I can't believe it comes out so good! Thanks for the posts and pics! I will be trying now!!

I haven't made this crust, but I agree with you on the gag factor of steaming cauliflower. Reminds me of pregnancy nausea. Have you tried roasting it? Huge difference in the smell factor. Huge.

If you like peanut butter, toast with some pb spread on it is amazing. It gets all melty! I like polaner all fruit (fruit and fruit juice) on top. Or, if you put a little marshmallow fluff on it (all natural and suprisingly less sugar than the polaner), it gets all melty too. On an english muffin is really good too. You…

I thought I was the only one who liked dark choc in her oatmeal!! I put a little of a homemade trail mix in my oatmeal...nuts, dried fruit & dark choc. Sooo yum!!

I love these too!! You have to make them just right, though, to get them crispy, right?! I also add lemon juice to mine and rub the mixture on each leaf. My five year old even likes them! I'm quite sure that no one has gotten fat from eating kale or kale chips!! So I think you're good! I'd just make sure to log the olive…

I forgot about this. My PhD friend who's also an eating disorder counselor told me once that she recommends her patients pre-log their food up to a week in advance! I don't know if I could go as far as to do that, but I bet a day ahead would be helpful. I'll have to give that a try! Thanks!

I agree with both of the above posts. There will be no one answer for you. It is individual to everyone. I've heard things like, "If it comes from a plant, eat it. If it was Made in a Plant , Don't!" Sure, in a perfect world, I'd say it's foods without labels...whole foods, or one ingredient foods. I definitely do not eat…

^this. Couscous is made from semolina, which is a type of wheat that pasta is made from. If you're going to do couscous, opt for whole wheat if you can find it. Quinoa is exactly what the above post says. It has much more calcium and iron and other minerals than couscous does, as you'd expect from any pasta. I use both,…

Dr Oz said that your body doesn't know what time it is, so it is a myth. Yes, of course, it's 'better' to eat the majority of your calories in the day because you can burn them off. But he said it's best to avoid late night eating mostly because no one's eating applesauce sitting on the couch watching tv...they're eating…

I saw on dr oz how pairing avocado and oranges (or any citrus) is a great belly slimming combo. The mufas in the avocado are anti-inflammyatory and are known to reduce fat storage in the belly, and citrus helps reduce cortisol. The nutritionist on there said it was so good together and convinced me to try it. It's pretty…
