I really just barely ever bake anymore... I've heard of people taking one treat and putting the rest in the freezer for later, but I'm not sure that would even work for me

You look INCREDIBLE!! Here's to another year of amazing successes! :drinker:
-
So. Awesome. And I saw on your blog that you do this while juggling school and work...you go, girl!

Mm mm mm, bump to read later!

This sounds like EXACTLY what I felt before my cholecystectomy. Abdominal pain at night, sometimes excruciating, with horrible nausea. It was really strange because I would be just fine again by day and then the cycle would repeat each night. I was only 12-13 at the time so the doctors never even considered that my gall…

University of Minnesota here! Always happy to have more friends in this age group -- it can be pretty hard losing weight while doing all we do! We got this though :)

Uhh YUM, that would get me off track too! For me it was an overuse injury in my knee followed by a back injury...I had to cut back my workouts almost entirely, and after awhile of that my motivation died and my eating habits got sloppy. Only bad enough to maintain, though, thankfully, and now I'm back on track!

Our stats are so similar -- I'm 5'4, SW 249, CW 160 -- and I LOVE THIS!! Go you!

You look FANTASTIC, congratulations!! :flowerforyou: can I ask where you bought the keychain from? I'm almost at 100 pounds lost and have been looking around for something similar.

It was nothing to do with my diet or the cigarettes.")

I'm 5'4, 160 and a size 8 jeans and M top in most brands. Makes me wonder where I'll be by goal weight!
-
Trail mix -- Those "single-serve" bags have 6-7 servings in them! Grrr.
-
YES! Eat fruits, because they're delicious and nutritious and you like them.
-
Yum. Wish I would've seen this when I had a bunch of coconut flour hanging around! I might have to get more and try these.

It doesn't have to be meat! My favorite vegetarian sources are greek yogurt (~23g/cup), eggs/egg whites (6g/egg), Cottage Cheese (~25g/cup) and quinoa (~24g/cup).

Hi there! I started around a similar weight and it took me about a year and a half to lose 70 pounds. The best advice I could give is not to let yourself get discouraged if the numbers aren't changing as quickly as you want them to -- just focus on making good choices every day and you'll get there!

All of my favorite ingredients! bump!

I'm in Minnesota.
-
Yum! I'm going to have to try at least a couple of these. bump!
-
YES! That's got to be the best feeling. Go you! :)

Your shopping list looks so similar to mine! I'm closer to a Whole Foods, but when I'm at TJ's I always look for their Harvest Grains couscous, red quinoa and garbanzo bean mix. So good!

 She's asking why the diet isn't both low carb and low fat, which makes that the subject of this post. All I did was comment on the absurdity of progressively cutting out entire food groups -- people don't do it because it's unreasonable, unsustainable and unhealthy. (And I'm specifically referring to this…

This post is about low carb, low fat, which would be an "all protein diet" unless you really like alcohol.
-
So is an all protein diet.
-
Yes, yum! I bake them with cumin, chili powder, and black pepper.
-
Why aren't people doing a low carb, low fat, low protein diet?

Like mentioned before, Boca/Morningstar make "ground beef" that works really well for tacos. These are my absolute favorite veggie burgers. SO good and only 150 cals each: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipe/mediterranean-veggie-burgers

 Really though, plan your meals ahead of time. I spend 1-2 hours on Sunday chopping fruits/veggies and cooking enough protein for the whole week. Then I just keep it in the fridge so I can put meals together in under 5 minutes during the week. It's a life saver when you're always on the go.

Hey Valerie, I'm also 20 and my starting weight was 249 at 5'4 (BMI of 43). I'm now at 163 with a BMI of 28. I started out with a *very* similar mindset and can relate a whole lot to what you're feeling. I probably could've written most of that myself back then. But I promise if you take it a day at a time and keep…
