  • Just did L1D7 and I can't believe I've gone 7 days straight! Edited to add... I've also lost 2 lbs this week. I'm starting to like Jillian a little more... Lol
  • I had no energy for 30DS today... But I did it anyway! L1D6 done and over.
  • Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I had the same problem when I started (I just finished day 6) so I just took it easy on the high impact parts. Figure out which parts of the shred hurt your knees and modify them. If your problem is the cardio section (jumping jacks killed my knees), do something else. The important part of…
  • Yoga 2-3 times a week and Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred 6-7 times a week. When I'm stronger and lighter I plan to add a pilates class or two into the mix.
  • I had the same problem on depo... I had a light flow period for over a month. I was also constantly hungry. It was awful. I don't love the pill (mostly because in the past I wasn't good about taking it at the same time every day... my darling daughter is proof of that lol), but I'm back on it as I really need to have a…
  • I either put it in as circuit training or calisthenics (sp?). The calories are the same for me. I think most people either use a HRM or put it in as circuit training, though.
  • Amazing! Your success is an inspiration.
  • L1D5 down! Still doing bench push ups, but no other modifications. It's starting to feel like I may actually be able to move up to level 2 for day 11. :)
  • Welcome and congrats on your progress so far! I've also been overweight my whole life (although I didn't reach "obese" until my junior year in high school) so I can relate. I'm also a mom so I understand how important it is to prioritize "free" time. I have to say for me, the only time I am under my calories (I get 1270, I…
  • My gym is going to start having Zumba classes next week and I'm so excited! I haven't done it is a couple years but I remember it being awesome. I love workouts that are fun enough that they don't feel like workouts. :)
  • Day 4 done! And I have to say I'm super proud that I even did it today. After having my daughter's play group, work, and a 60 minute yoga class, I was so beat! But I did it anyway (at 10pm... yikes!) and I have to say it was the best shred workout I've had yet! Maybe because I knew when I was done I would get my yoplait…
  • I had 2 today! I donated the remainder of my "fat clothes," and did day 3 of the 30DS without feeling like I was going to throw up. Lol
  • I only gained 18 pounds when I was pregnant, but considering I weighed 236 lbs when I got pregnant, 18 lbs was plenty. Lol. I also had horrible morning/noon/night sickness and actually lost 15 lbs during my first trimester. I'm very lucky though, because despite the fact that I was already so overweight, I actually had a…
  • Have you tried Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred? All you need are the DVD (which if like $10 at Walmart), weights (3-5 lbs are perfect for starting out) and a mat if you're working out on a hard floor. A lot of MFP members have had success with it, so I actually started doing it myself on Monday.
  • L1D3 complete! Still doing girly push ups, and I HATE jumping jacks, but I definitely think I did better today. I also wasn't nearly as sore this morning as I was yesterday.
  • What are you using to calculate your percentage?
  • I guess it would depend on who was saying it? But as a young, single mom, I'm pretty sure I'd take it as a compliment. I'm gonna have to get back in the dating game someday, so being a MILF may come in handy.
  • If they don't see it, they are blind! You look great!!! It's definitely super noticeable in your face.
  • DO NOT CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT! I had my gall bladder removed in October 2010, 5 weeks after having my daughter. I had been having attacks on and off for 2 weeks when the pain got so bad that I couldn't breastfeed my daughter (the pain was affecting my supply and even the weight of my tiny 6 lb baby on my stomach made me…
  • I did day 2 of the 30DS today, so I know how you feel! I just keep reminding myself that it will hurt less as I become stronger and thinner. And until then, I'm stretching, drinking water, and about to pop an ibuprofen so I can get some sleep. And most importantly, I'll be doing day 3 of the shred tomorrow, regardless -…
  • I was thinking you need more protein, too. Maybe put peanut butter on your toast? Maybe have some quinoa with your green smoothie? I also know of people who put wheat germ in their fruit smoothies to get extra protein. And add a handful of nuts to your salads.
  • Did it this afternoon and OMG did it kick my butt. I definitely got through by knowing it would be over soon. And knowing it will get easier as I become stronger. :)
  • Starting this afternoon when my daughter goes down for her nap. Hoping she takes a long one because I'm thinking I'm going to need a little nap after my first 30DS workout. Lol
  • Glad you guys like it! I apologize for the typo in the title... Just noticed... I really need to go to sleep earlier. Lol
  • I also see a big difference in your arms. Great job!
  • I just watched level 1 to see what we'll be doing. It doesn't LOOK very hard, but I know it's totally going to kick my butt. Lol. I'm planning to use 3 lb weights as that's what I already have. I think most people use between 2-5 lb weights depending on their current strength/fitness level.
  • How long has this been going on? Because if it's been more than a week, you may want to schedule an appointment with your doctor. If you are having a nutrient deficiency of some kind, they would be able to do tests and tell you what's going on. Any chance you could be pregnant? The only time I've been the kind of ravenous…

  • Such a big difference. You look great! I had the same problem with not seeing a difference in the mirror... Then I made my profile picture with a before and almost-halfway photo. Now I see it! Also, no matter how/where you lose weight, 2 sizes and 40 lbs is a huge difference. It is physically impossible to look the same…
  • I eat my daughter's YoBaby organic yogurt all the time. The blueberry one is delicious and only 100 cal! That being said, the main problem with eating the toddler meals I think is that if it does work for weight loss, it isn't necessarily sustainable. D you want to eat them for the rest of your life? And the same goes for…
  • I just looked at your profile and you are such an inspiration! Thank you for adding me! Seeing your success will definitely help me stay on track. :)
