If you are just going to throw out all your kids' candy (and if I knew your kid got candy from my house and you threw it out I would be mad since you just wasted my money) why do you let them go trick-or-treating? There are plenty of events that could go to so they could dress up, yet not bring home tons of candy.

she said that the lunch for her son, who is on the cross country team isn't enough. first, I doubt the kids whose parents can't afford food can afford to play sports. second, cross country is usually done in high school and the calorie amount in high school is 850, not 600. however, why aren't the kids who qualify for free…
-
no they don't. and what about the kids whose parents don't look out for them and don't feed them?
-
then he should bring his own lunch. or supplement the school lunch with items from home.
-
I read that the lunch had to be less than 850 calories. Where did you get 600 from? In addition, the meals have gotten healthier. My guess is that your students aren't eating everything given to them with lunch (veggies, fruit, milk) and that's why they're hungry.

I do not understand this forcing kids to eat what YOU want to cook.....why does everyone think the only options are what you cooked or something unhealthy? if a kid doesn't like what's being served, why can't they make themselves something else that's healthy? I certainly don't like everything my kids do and certainly…

yes, that's way too low. You should go to fat2fit radio and calculate your BMR. You should never eat below that number. If you continue to eat that low calorie number, your metabolism will slow down.

phase 1 is only recommended for the first 2 weeks - to get you over your cravings. After that you gradually add in more GOOD carbs (the types of things most people think of as carbs - as was pointed out, in the first 2 weeks you eat plenty of veggies). SB is not a diet, it's a way of eating for life. As you get further…

I went on vacation for 10 days.....2 days in seattle and a 7 day alaskan cruise....didn't gain any weight. Never ever take the elevator on the cruise. Make use of the gym. Walk on your excursions (we did a 3 hour kayak trip). and my cruise did not have a midnight buffet and I never utilized room service.

how do you make your guests to try at least a bite of everything? If I come to your house for dinner and you serve something I don't like, I just eat what I do like, I don't eat a bite of something I don't like.

A vegetable portion is 1/2 to 1 cup depending on whether they're cooked or raw. I don't understand what is so hard about that many a day. Yesterday just with my lunch I had 1.5 cups of broiled red/yellow/orange peppers. I think you need to incorporated vegetables at every meal and snack. that should get you to where you…

can't he pack food in a cooler?

do you not see a problem with 'he who makes the money controls it'? that isn't really what makes a successful marriage/partnership. You're 'not allowed' to use the debit card? are you her spouse or her child?
-
but your food budget gets cut in half because of somebody else's WANTS, not NEEDS. Healthy food (which doesn't mean restaurant quality) is a NEED....your wife wanting money for clothes is a WANT. your debt is going to spiral out of control when the unhealthy eating takes its toll on the family.
-
ok, the question has to be asked....what are you getting out of this marriage? you have a wife who has no respect for you and makes the rules because she makes the money. why do you put up with that?
-
how can it be that all she cares about is the black ink, when eating out (even the dollar menu) costs more than making and eating food at home. Have your kids had a physical recently? blood pressure, A1C, lipid panel, etc. are they all where they're supposed to be or is their poor diet affecting them?
-
this is where everyone has said there are communication issues. If you have a budget of x for food and someone just decides oh well I feel like buying something else. then there is a communication problem in your marriage. Just because your wife makes the money doesn't mean she gets to decide how it's spent. The money…

ok, your wife and kids sound like a bunch of spoiled brats! they don't eat rice - good lord, it's not like rice is some weird foreign food. and if you're home all day then I don't see why your wife cares how long it takes to cook something. Can't you cook during the day?
-
so I guess hardly anyone has a healthy diet since most people don't get enough vitamin D and have to take a supplement.
-
seriously....do people live under a rock? it's not a new fact that if there are under 5 calories in a serving (which most people also don't bother to look at) it can be called zero calorie. How do all these people survive on a daily basis without a big brother looking out for them?
-
Interesting. I take mine at night before bed along with my birth control pill, vitamin D and vitamin B12.

well if you're in the US, I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say drinking, since you clearly underage. So really, alcohol shouldn't be a factor at all.

well I'm already hypothroid and have been now for 13 years. I also have nodules but they haven't changed in size in several years. Thyroid is not enlarged.
-
Why is soy a big no-no with thyroid issues? My endocrinologist has never said anything to me about soy.

I'm sure that made the kids whose only choice is to eat the lunch provided by the school, feel really great. You do realize that there are parents who can't afford to pack their child's lunch, so the child has to eat the free lunch provided by the school? I know I would look forward to eating my lunch that someone just…

If you calculated your daily calorie allotment using your activity level of sedentary and then you exercise, you should eat the calories back. MFP already has you at a deficit. Too much of a deficit and you don't lose.

the only thing that contains calories in your oatmeal is the dry ingredients, as long as you make it with water. So whatever amount of dry outmeal you start with is the amount of calories in the entire pot of outmeal that there is after it's cooked. So divide the total number of calories you started with (dry oatmeal) by…

serve them the same veggies, just offer them some ranch dressing for dip (or greek yogurt with dip mix) or put some parmesan on them.

yeah that!
