Hi, I'm Phyllis. I'm 66 and am on on maintenance now (Lost 51 pounds total). I gained about 8 pounds back during the holidays, which I would like to shed again. Just retired this past July and have stepped up my activity level quite a bit. Not sure I'm ready for burpees, but I walk, exercise 3-5 days a week and try to walk…

Check out the over 60 group, too. A great, positive and supportive bunch. Feel free to add me

I agree with mtapia713, the dietician. You need a good ED specialty team to help you now that you are not in an inpatient facility, where you had the structure and support 24/7. I'm very surprised you were not given referrals to an ED therapist and dietician when you left inpatient. I am an addiction professional and food…

I'm a 6-yr survivor! I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer in April, 2008. Had a lumpectomy and 31 radiation treatments. Will see my oncologist for my 6-yr checkup next month.

Will WAAY over 50 do? 64 and fighting it every step of the way! You're only as old as you act! ;-) Feel free to add me. You can do this!

This is actually pretty good advice. I followed this (without the exercise!) when I belonged to a 12-step program for compulsive eaters, CEA-HOW (Compulsive eaters anonymous-Honesty, Open-minded, Willingness). Yes, I went thru sugar/starch withdrawals the first week, but after that, miraculously, the cravings were gone!…

You can enter your specific combo under My Foods. The Subway website is easy to get accurate calorie count, including proteins, carbs, etc that you track. Simply transfer the total to My Foods once, and each time you order the same thing the info is there! Just select, for example, "Subway grilled chicken sandwich on…

Cooler days call out for homemade soup or stews!

Absolutely, it helps to have friends, especially if they comment regularly. I'm and addiction counselor, so I know how to do it, I just need to be accountable to others, or I find myself slipping and sliding. I'd select friends carefully and be sure that both you and they have open diaries so you can encourage and support…

What an amazing transformation! Your dedication and hard work really paid dividends! I'm sure you'll keep working at it, as it must be a regular routine for you now. And you surely don't e ever want to go back "there" again! Great post!

Oh nooo! After I threw a major tantrum, I'd head to the mall! Goodwill is ok for some things, but you're gonna need a really good pair of jeans and maybe a couple of new summer dresses! And he'd better not complain! And while you're at Goodwill, pick up a pair of pants like his favorite but 2 sizes smaller, and after next…

I always measure bust with a bra on--at fullest point. Otherwise, I'd be getting a waist measurement!!

Welcome back, we've missed you! How'd you do on all those finals?!

Sometimes we must ask :flowerforyou: ourself if we're better off with them or without them. You made the best choice for you and it has resulted in finding yourself again. You're a beautiful lady, inside and out, and are making incredible progress. Keep up the great work. "Living Well is the Best Revenge!"

i pack a lunch most days. It's better for me to plan my meals ahead, rather than try to figure out what I can eat and where, when I eat out. I make something on weekends that I can have during week for lunch and/or dinner. Rotisserie chicken from Costco, Sam's Club, grocery stores are a versatile choice, as it can be…

Thanks for posting this. What a beauty you are! You've come a long way in a year. Very inspiring.

I agree with all of those who suggest that you start off ASAP with a visit to your doctor. He/She will be thrilled that you are ready to make a change and have taken action by coming to MFP. And while you're there, be certain to mention your sleep patterns and fatigue. You have classic signs of depression and would benefit…

In 2 weeks, I will be a 5 year survivor of Breast cancer. I have a family history of this and had yearly mammos to monitor. Luckily, it was caught early, and since I was post-menopausal, had a slower-growing type than my sis, who was already stage 3 when she had her first mammo @ 40 (she also had negative reaction to…

Sounds like you're hitting a plateau. After a regular routine of the same old, same old, we may need to change things up a little. Ct back on carbs or increase exercise, have smaller meals more frequently, etc. The Fibro doesn't help, but do try to keep moving. You can do it, just don't give up.

Underwear, first thing in the morning, after going to the bathroom! Not a pretty sight...Yet!
