  • Are you measuring yourself? Is your waist getting bigger? Or perhaps are your hips getting smaller?
  • I have a disease that affects my adrenal glands, so my entire life revolves around avoiding/managing situations that are stressful on the body. Not sleeping (especially when you're used to sleeping) is stressful on the body. Exercising is stressful on the body. The two together are super stressful. There's a difference…
  • But squatting is so much better for the derrière.
  • I think that's one of the biggest issues with restriction - you're basically telling yourself not to think about food while you have to CONSTANTLY think about it to make the right choices. Annoying. I eat really often throughout the day and it helps a bit. My food is prelogged so I know what I'm eating and my next…
  • I'd work out beforehand. There's nothing worse than the weight of knowing you have to workout no matter what or go in the red - especially if you end up tired and cranky. The reality is it doesn't matter. You won't literally be burning off that junk food. You'll just be burning close to the same amount of calories as you…
  • I feel your pain! Wide hips and flat tooshie. I'm having good results doing a few things: squats, deadlifts, Stairmaster, and glute bridges. I saw "good results" relatively...I don't think I'm genetically predispositined to have a great caboose.
  • Go big or go home, my friend. Jumping in wont get easier, even if you spend a year warming up on the elliptical. I wish I wouldn't have waited 8 years to start lifting :)
  • In for pics. Sadly disappointed by the lack thereof.
  • I'm getting a lift and implants when I hit goal weight, and I can't wait! I'm not a part of the IBTC (I'm a 34DD), but after 3 kids my boobies need a little help, and the implants will keep them up in the air and fantastic :) I also struggle with a bit of back pain thanks to my small frame, so I'm hoping that'll fix me.
  • Hahaha! I almost never wear underwear, but today I put on a pair of yoga pants and got hit with camel toe! I'll be wearing underwear with these pants from now on....
  • I think it's fair to say that certain foods require more care or are more easily over-consumed, though. How many people are on MFP because they ate too many green beans?
  • I think it would be amazingly therapeutic for you to wear it. You look great, I'm sure you feel great , and it's time to up that confidence! I'm not sure if you have kids, but the majority of adult women do, and a huge amount of them have stretch marks from it. Add in people who have stretch marks from gaining weight or…
  • I don't do them. I'm no opposed to them, but my workout plan is geared toward building muscle, so I focuse on weight progression. My waist isn't really an area where I'm looking to build muscle. I'm sure I could keep things light and easy, but I feel like I get enough general core work in the bigger compound moves.
  • Movie theatre concession stand worker Sonic car hop Walmart toy associate Stay at home mom Now that my kids are older I'm going to be rejoining the workforce as an RN in the next year or so, finally putting my college education to use!
  • It's hard to talk moderation with someone who deals in extremes. I don't have a sweet tooth, so I'm really not concerned with how "scary" sugar consumption is or any real need to say I'm never eating it again. I have a friend who attributes her 50lb weight loss to cutting sugar out of her diet. That wouldn't make me lose…
  • My gym (Golds) has a "ladies preferred" area. There's no one saying anyone has to work out any certain way and there's no "special" equipment. Just some extra space and equipment. The intent, I believe, is privacy for women who feel uncomfortable working out surrounded by men. I don't really see what the big deal is. I'm…
  • I agree with the majority...there's no need to rest from 30 minute walks unless you feel like you need one. Active people move more than that every day, and there's no need for a bed-ridden rest day from life.
  • My mom still has one of those! She also had one of these: This puppy kept me cellulite-free during my entire childhood!
  • You don't have to sit on the bench staring at the clock for 90 seconds between sets of an exercise if you do a super set. You can do 10 push ups, wait 60 seconds, and then do 10 seated rows. Your muscles are actually getting more rest, but you're moving faster and burning more calories.
  • I go to Gold's. Great location for me, all the equipment I need, and 24 hours M-F. Works for me. There's an Anytime Fitness nearby, but they don't have childcare, so I wasn't interested.
  • Giggity.
  • That was my take-home, as well. I can't believe it! If I ate that much I'd put on somewhere around 3.5lbs a week! OP...women aren't allowed to want to be slender and soft on MFP. You know that.
  • For various reasons I did the first phase of the program without using any barbell at all. NROLFW gives multiple versions of every exercise, so is hasn't been a big deal at all. I did dumbell squats, deadlifts, rows...no big. I do prefer a barbell, but I had a lot of form work to do with my trainer before I was let loose…
  • I completely understand where you're coming from. My husband is one of the most loving and accepting people I've ever met, and he has never once in 12 years hinted that he cares about my weight, what I wear, my makeup...anything. Obviously he has preferences, but I've never gone to any extreme so he's ok. I've always had…
  • I was in love with my Polar FT4, until the battery went to crap after only 2 months. Batteries die, but that seems way fast to me. That aside, I use it during my walks and runs and cardio classes. Simple and reliable as long as the battery is good! Also, the chest strap is comfy...I've had bad luck with the cheaper brands.
  • When I first started back working out, I was so sadly out of shape, I was shocked at my HRMs calorie count. When walking it was a LOT higher than MFP, which I thought was weird since everyone says MFP is too high. Well, that lasted a few weeks and then my body adjusted and I'm burning calories like a normal human being,…
  • I bought the fitbit one because my research pointed to it being more accurate than the flex. I lost it within a week. But for those 7-ish days, I LOVED it. I replaced it a few days ago with the Jawbone Up, and I really just want my fitbit back. I might return this thing and compromise with myself by getting the Flex -…
  • Since you clearly have NO clue what it's like to be a woman, you should probably stop pretending that you do. .
  • So. Hungry. When I type in my workout and I find out I only have an extra 100 calories for the day, I want to crawl in a hole and cry. And eat a cow. But I can't. Because cows are more like 10,000 calories.
