  • The mall is likely NOT going to have the right store for you. You need to go to an actual running store. Here in Ohio we have Second Sole and Vertical Runner. Mall stores like footlocker etc.. yeah NO STAY AWAY. Do a little research or maybe google "running stores portland oregon" and see what you come up with :)
  • Well I didn't start at 250, but I started running at 216, so pretty close SHOES SHOES SHOES are the #1 thing. I cannot even stress this enough. Get fitted by a professional. Also - take it SLOW. When I first started, my running pace was the SAME as my walking pace - about a 15 minute mile. I just jogged rather than walked…
  • I've been eating TDEE - 20% for 18 weeks now :) I've gone from 216 to 182 It works. Totally works.
  • All I can tell you is that when the pounds start coming off, you don't WANT to eat that stuff all the time. Trust me. I go places and that stuff doesn't even look good anymore. I think, "SO not worth it" Now once a week or so? Yeah I totally have a cheat meal, but I used to order crap all the time - no more and NO desire…
  • THIS says it all right here. It's your BIRTHDAY. Eat the ****ing cake and don't track a thing :) It's what normal people do - and then they go back to eating healthily the next day :)
  • you must must must must must get fitted for running shoes at a proper store. it will make all the difference in the world. TRUST ME! Be prepared to spend about $80-$120, but it'll be worth EVERY cent. Promise.
  • I don't think I know anyone here well enough to have a crush??? :)
  • Down 30 with another 25-30 to go :)
  • You are doing amazing!!! So proud of your success and you inspire me!!! :) Way to go! And you are absolutely gorgeous both inside and out at BOTH weights, but you look so much healthier and HAPPIER right now - way to shine with confidence!
  • That is SO awesome!!! Congratulations! :)
  • Have you had your thyroid checked? What you are describing was my issue before getting diagnosed with thyroid disease. I'd follow everything perfectly and nothing worked. Now that I'm on meds and my disease is controlled? EVERYthing works like it should - it's night and day! I'd highly recommend seeing an endocrinologist…
  • But that still wants to add them by way of emailing them, which I don't want to do. We know each others usernames, we just want to add one another. You can easily do it from the desktop app, we should be able to do it from the mobile app too.
  • YES YES YES on the confirmations on calorie counts!!!!
  • So far I really like the look of it. I miss the tabs at the top though - don't like to have to keep pressing the little runner guy to get back menus also REALLY wish there was a way to add friends via their username and not invite using your phone numbers, email, facebook. It's hard enough to find on the desktop site and…
  • Hashimoto's Disease here - diagnosed back in 2005. As long as your thyroid is under control through medication, you should have no trouble dropping the weight using your TDEE minus 20% I'm under control with a TSH of around 1.5 right now and the weight is flying off! Good luck!
  • I have about 4 friends doing it and they just use a heart rate monitor.....Might be worth the investment since you'll be doing it many weeks :)
  • I don't have any advice, but I just want to say that you have taken an AMAZING first step towards getting yourself healthy both physically and emotionally. (((HUGE HUGS))) to you. I can tell you that you are fighter and want to take control of your life and your body and you seem to be in a place to absolutely do it. Best…
  • Congratulations to you, you are amazing!!!!!!!!!! :)
  • It's just the shape of your body. I'm 5'6" 190 lbs and a SOLID size 16. I couldn't squeeze into a 14 if my life depended on it. However, I look GOOD in a size 16. Way better than I did at 216 and an 18 I also take a good 20-25 lbs to drop a size. I'm little in the middle, but have very curvy hips - that accounts for my…
  • it is NOT a myth. It's reality. You NEED to eat your BMR End of story.
  • good. freaking. lord. EAT!! Your body is going into starvation mode. No wonder you are gaining. You need to at LEAST eat your BMR.
  • Ok, here's the deal. If your thyroid is UNDER CONTROL and your numbers are right, then you are going to be able to lose weight like any other normal person would. I am very glad to read that you're working with your doc - that's your #1 goal right now - get your meds adjusted so that your TSH is in check. I have…

  • you are doing GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • This might be my favorite NSV ever - WAY TO GO!
  • You look fabulous! I should take some photos of myself. I have a really hard time looking at full body photos of myself. But knowing they will be for the sake of visual aid to how my body is changing *hopefully* will be worth it. :-) [/quote] Thanks so much! YES, do it! Even if you don't show them to anyone but yourself,…
  • Every person is different. While the average person can go down a size every 8-12 lbs, I personally go down a size every 20-25 pounds!! However, the difference in just going down ONE size for me. HUGE. Absolutely huge. This is me after a 20 lbs loss - went from an 18 to a 16...but it's still a huge shape difference My goal…
  • it's TOTALLY working for me. I used the method in the in place of a road map post. I eat 1650 calories per day - that's my TDEE minus 20% I also make SURE that I net 1200 calories after exercise...so if i exercise and burn more than 450 then I make sure I eat those calories back. I have lost 24 lbs since Feb 11 using this…
