Congratulations!! That is absolutely amazing.

since my total goal is 129 pounds off, it will probably be some new clothes that fit. :)

I understand. I used to think 180 to be safe, until someone informed me that I was overcooking the meat. Be sure to always check the middle of a breast in the middle of the pan to make sure there is no pink in the middle (in case the thermometer is inaccurate and needs adjusting. This can be checked by sticking the…

I would keep between 160-170-- I used to work in a kitchen in a nursing home. Health department says 160-165. My experience is cooking to 180 makes the meat a bit dry.

I eat 4 meals at between 300 and 400 calories each. You can eat a lot of food if you choose the food carefully. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, whole grains and drink a lot of water. I try to stay away from refined sugars and flours and find that I am satisfied and have plenty of energy, but never have that bloated,…

with most meat, the lower the temperature you cook it at, the more moist the meat will be. I would cook it at about 300 or 325 and keep an eye on it until it is cooked through and/or a food thermometer say 160 (definitely cooked through--you don't want any pink) edit: the above poster mentioning a 180 oven would be even…

Several years ago, I was eating dinner at a restaurant/bakery that is famous locally for its desserts. I ordered a piece of dessert to go so I could enjoy it later. That evening I pulled out the boxed dessert and discovered that they had put the dessert on a plate and the plate and dessert into the to go box

What I personally would do is, I would wear my heart monitor. My heart rate monitor (Polar ft7) separates fit and fat--iI would take note at the end of the time how much of the time was fit and log that. If no heart rate monitor, I mighte record maybe (lean hour of walking 2.0 (leisurely walk) because inevitably you will…

I drink anywhere from 80-120 ounces a day. I have heard that we should drink half our body weight in ounces a day and if we drink coffee/pop we should drink extra water to make up for it. I don't do that often, but try to go as close to 100 ounces as I can. some days are better than others.

for me, stepping on the scale and seeing a drop in weight is the reward for my hard work at living more healthy. Clothing getting too loose is also a reward.

I eat 4 meals a day at 300-400 calories a piece and drink 80-100 ounces of water a day. I eat lots of fruirts and veggies, make sure your breads/crackers etc are whole grain (whole grain should be the first item on the ingredient list.) Stay away from sugat ars and floours that are refined. This will make you crave more…

try cutting out refined sugar for a few days and see if that helps you feel more satisfied. Refined sugars make you crave more carbohydrates.

LOL love it. With no cholesterol problems. I don't see one egg a day for a week as a problem. They are a good source of protein and low in calories. I would say it is a good choice.

Saturday success: got most of my exercise in this week and lost another pound which puts me at 36.4 pounds since January 4. So I am happy.

almost halfway there.

I am 54 years old. I started January 4 at 279.2 pounds and through wise food choices and exercise, yesterday I weighed in at 242.8 pounds--a loss of 36.4 pounds.

Is there any way you can avoid going into the staff room? If you can avoid refined sugar, after a while you will lose the craving for it, and it will be easier to see the stuff and not eat it. Or just taste it. One bite and call it quits. I too have a sugar addiction, but find that if I stay away from it for a while, I…

Thursday truth: I allowed myself a treat yesterday. I went to the ballgame in 38-40 degree weather. It was so cold, I wanted warm comfort food, so I had a hot dog and macaroni and cheese. I enjoyed it and back on track today. Because of busyness, I had ntsot gotten the workouts in that I had hoped to this week, but 2…
