If you are eating 10 of the smokies, I would maybe count about 3 tablespoons of the sauce to make sure you are covered. Maybe count up the calories of the sauce separately from the smokies. If you have not already purchased them, you might see if there is a lower sodium Lil smokies (not sure if they exist)

I prefer chicken thighs to chicken breasts but get the skinless boneless variety at 160 calories for 4 oz. I will buy whole sweet potatoes and bake them in the skin (I have done microwave, but they are more moist and tasty if done in regular oven--at least according to my experience). I also do the frozen veggies in the…

@Brittany I hear you. If I had my way, I would just drink my Diet Pepsi all day long. but a couple years ago I read that to be properly hydrated we should be drinking half our body weight in water, and if we drink caffeine, we have to add those ounces of water on top of that. I added up the numbers and about choked. So…

yes, you will need to allow your body to adjust. I have heard people say you need to give it 2-4 weeks

@Brittany Chinese has a lot of sodium. Amazingly enough, the answer to high sodium is drink a lot of water. I mean a lot. I often drink between 150-160 ounces a day :drinker:

For me it is eating about 1400 calories, making good choices on food and making sure I get my 10,000 steps in . I figured out a while back that my TDEE is about 1800 calories (I was hoping I was one of those over 2000 calorie people, but....). If I over my TDEE I gain weight, and if I eat my ca lories but make poor…

I love the Tuna Creations and usually buy the sweet and spicy. I put it in a bowl with about 3 cups of romaine lettuce or baby spinach with a quarter cup of shredded Mozzarella cheese, and I have a fast food lunch.

This right here is key to why many restaurants serve huge portions. People demand it because they want to feel like they are getting their money's worth. I have a friend who examines every plate she is given in a restaurant and questions it every time she either feels like it is not enough, or feels that the portion is…

this. She has got to want to lose weight. If she wants to, she may ask you about your success. If she does not, she will only become angry and resentful at those who do talk to her about it. Been there.

I would like to be a part. I need to get serious again.

no calories so it fit in your macros....well, except maybe a little high in fat with all that oil

agree with this. In this day where everyone is suing everyone over often minor stuff, people are afraid to take any kind of risk. If they gave advice, you followed it and suffered an injury, needed surgery or died, they would be afraid that you would sue them for negligence or abuse. They are not doctors (I am guessing),…

It depends on what your TDEE is. (the number of calories you need to maintain your weight) That varies from person to person according to how much they weigh, their metabolism and other factors as well. My TDEE is about 1900 calories. If I eat more than that, I gain weight.

Someone notices I am losing weight and decide that, even though I am having success with how I am doing it, they have a better way (usually involving some fad or extreme diet that they are not having much success with themselves). I mean seriously? I have lost over 59 pounds in a little over six months and you have a…

ditto. Add lots of fruits and veggies and drop off some of the high calorie foods that have little substance. Try choosing more unprocessed and unfried foods to your diet.

I don't. I get inserts for my shoes and do stretches to stretch out my calves (the source of my problem is too tight muscles in my calves)

If you have a refrigerator available, a favorite lunch of mine lately has been mixing a packet of tuna creations, with lettuce and a quarter cup of lower fat shredded mozzarella cheese. I take a serving of whole grain crackers and a baggie of fruit to round out the meal and find it both filling and delicious. I use a half…

I tend to do them a lot as well--mostly for convenience. Not crazy about the sodium levels so try to keep it at one a day

Food: I was in the exact situation you are when I started. I started researching exactly what eating healthy is. For me, that means lots of fruits and veggies (minimum 5 a day and lots of variety). Whole grains will give you good fiber and help future colon health. lean meats, nuts, eggs (egg whites) etc make good sources…
