37YO male here. I lost about 60 pounds at 31 or so myself. Good luck, with a few basic steps and lifestyle changes, and some patience, you can do it!

Oatmeal + cottage cheese + fish oil. Fiber and oil keep you full, lots of long-burning protein and complex carbs. Whole wheat toast + peanut butter.

I'm still considered "obese" today. I did my first 5K of the season this past weekend, knocking 38 seconds off my average mile pace since last November. I ran four 5Ks last year, around 265lb at 5'10". Ibuprofen is your friend. Fish oil too maybe. Also, to an extent, you need to learn to suck up a certain amount of pain -…

I run. I currently weigh 249ish. I ran 5Ks last year at 265ish. Get over it. Take an ibuprofen. Start slow, you'll get there. But seriously, get over it. No excuses aside from actual injuries/disabilities/illness.

At the age of 28 or so, yep. Clear then. The doc doing it managed to miss a pilonidal issue however; she wasn't a specialist.

I've experienced GERD since I was 13 or so. I munched TUMS like candy through 22 or 23, when I discovered PPIs. I had by then started experiencing IBS or Crohn's symptoms. I've never been officially diagnosed, but my younger brother was, late last year, and we've both had similar issues for years. I ended up having…

My activity level is set to sedentary with a target of 1.5 pounds weight loss per week. I walk my dog, lift or jog 4-6 days a week. I always eat some of my calories back, but I try never to eat all of them, because my primary goal right now is fat loss. I've gone to bed with too much of a deficit a few times, and felt weak…

I gained back 8-10 pounds initially; I went from working as an indie consultant and walking all the time, to working with a startup filled with young kids and big greasy pizzas. I also had health issues that put a damper on my activities for most of those 6 years, corrected with two surgeries last year. I also moved from…

Worked for me, and, for the sake of my fellow humans, I'm giving it a second go to ... better document my results.

heheheh The first time round, 6 years ago, I dropped 60 pounds in 6 months. That was mostly Scotch, small paleo-ish meals, lots of water and sleep, and long, often hot, dogwalks.

Last year I walked my dog over 400 miles, ran 4 5Ks, did some biking. I didn't count my calories, and I drank a crapload of Scotch. My cardiovascular fitness improved immensely, but I gained ~10 pounds, mostly not muscle. I started counting calories again last month. I started crosstraining with resistance workouts late…

Whatchoo talkin' bout Willis? Almond oil is awesome. Also the Omapure distilled fish oil I use has very little fishy taste, but DID still take some getting used to, and sometimes still DOES make me cringe a bit, but it's tolerable. Do you keep your oils refrigerated? If not, they can get rancid, fast, and THEN they taste…
