  • I am not a fan of the turkey drumsticks. But I may be the minority. They also have a ton of calories, 1000 or so. I am a fan of a lot of the sit down restaurants
  • If you think the food at Disney is horrible, you are doing it wrong. http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2010/02/04/eating-healthy-in-walt-disney-world/ I read this link a couple times before I went and took what I learned from logging for a couple months and losing 15 pounds and made some good decisions. The one thing I…
  • Yes, getting started is the hardest part. Also what is hard for me is when I take a break and am on vacation or away for a couple days, getting started again is hard. Make a commitment to log as accurately as possible for 2 weeks. Seeing it in front of you will help you come up with a plan that will work for you. I am not…
  • Yeah, I wish I could do it in the morning but I just don't seem to be able to. I am usually doing it at night, after dinner, sometimes after the kids go to bed. After showering it is sometimes hard to get ready to go to sleep. But it is what has been working for me.
  • Welcome. This site has helped me a ton. I never dieted or counted calories before I joined either. Losing eight has more to do with diet than exercise. if you are not mindful then you "reward" yourself for exercise and ended up eating more calories than you burned. This site has helped me realize what foods are good, which…

  • Probably not much help but... I was worried about losing ground on my vacation and was mindful of it but didn't really log. because i had done so much walking I actually lost about .5 pound on vacation. the problem I had was getting back into the routine after vacation. That has taken me a few weeks and I gained a few…
  • I finished C25K in may and have signed up for my first race on July 27. It is listed as a run/walk so there is a decent chance I won't finish last. Congrats on completed your first race!!! That is awesome.
  • It's a marathon, not a sprint. There will be ups and down, but keep working to to be headed in generally the right direction. I still have a ways to go both in terms of weight loss, eating healthier, getting fit, etc. But I am way ahead of where I was. Just logging and realizing what foods do what to my body in terms of…
  • I have lost 21 lbs in 12 weeks and while I have cut down, I haven't stopped drinking. keeping to weekends, usually one night a weekend, for the most part. The bigger problem I have is binge eating when I drink.

  • Well after I completed C25K about 2 weeks ago we went on vacation. I thought I would run once or twice in WDW but didn't. Did a ton of walking though. I ran Wednesday night, about 2 miles. Planning on running for 30 minutes tonight and running 5k on Sunday. Think I will do that schedule for a couple weeks Wed: 2 - 2.5…
  • My last big weight gain was when I quit July 2011. I went from about 210 to 230. I quit using an e-cig and didn't smoke for about 8 months. I started smoking again and am keeping to about 6 - 7 cigs a day but am telling myself everyday I am going to quit. I think it is going to happen soon. I have recently completed couch…
  • Just completed it last night. Ran 5K, not officially measured or timed, but it was a little over 3 miles. 10 weeks ago or so I ran a mile to see if I could and I did but it was very painful. Got this program, followed it and did P90X on days I didn't run. I used the Zen labs C25K Free version. I got good running shoes from…

  • I just ran 5K!!!!! Wasn't officially measured or timed, but i did my circuit which is just a little more than a mile, 3 times in 37:21!!!!
  • I do the P90X Kenpo X warm up to stretch for running. A little side stretch, prayer squat and rock to stretch the achilles, runners pose, crescent pose, and prayer twist bent over hamstring stretch then laying on back hamstring stretch, right then left, open it up to start stretching the hips pigeon pose, quad stretch,…
  • Awesome! Congrats! Completed week 8 today, legs are a little sore, but that is cause I did P90X legs & back yesterday also.
  • Completed week 8 Day 2. It is weird. The start of the run seems so much harder than the finish
  • Completed Week 8 Day 1 last night. I think that is the light at the end of the tunnel or is the light coming from the doorway being opened?
  • Completed Week 7 Day 3 today. I ran about 2.75 miles in 31 minutes and then walked for a little bit. Ran with a guy from church along the Fredericksburgs battlefield. Great way to start the day. Then the family went to the Great Train Race in downtown Fredericskburg and I ran the mile race with my daughter. Feeling it now.
  • That is great! Fantastic job. I did Week 7 Day 2 last night and felt good afterward. I sprinted to the finish. Well to me it was sprinting but anyone that would have been looking, I am not so sure.
  • Primarily it is calories but other things can affect it. I would consider if you are tracking your calories and exercise and TDEE accurately. Also you are not an android (ok, I am assuming). I notice you have a join date of April, if that is when you started your body will take several weeks to adjust to the changes. I…
  • Did week 7 day 1 tonight. Did some Yoga X when I got home, put the kids to bed, used the Kenpo X warm up for a stretch and started the warm up. I passed the 2 mile mark prior to 24 minutes. Amazing how far I have come. Just a few weeks ago I watching the clock on the 3 minute runs.
  • It was just in my head. I was unsure of the long runs also. Do you use a HRM? I try to keep it steady and slow up or speed up to maintain my heart rate. You get to a zone where you are comfortable and you just go. Before my run sunday (Week 6 day 3), I felt kind of unsure. But at the end I could have kept going. Maybe you…
  • Completed Week 6 Day 3 yesterday. I ran a little extra. I ran just a little over 2 miles in a little less than 25 minutes. Felt pretty good afterwards, a lot better than I did after the long run the week before.
  • Yeah you have told me a couple times about not doing plyo. Think I may be finally ready to listen, hehe.
  • Good job. Getting started was the hardest for me. Patience is also hard, but stick with it. I am amazed how far I have come over the last 6 - 8 weeks.
  • had this a lot at first. You need to build up your calf muscles and stuff around your shins. Also make sure you stretch them out. I have found the best way to do this is get into downward dog then alternate bending one knee and pressing the other heel into the ground. That helped me quite a bit. Hope it helps you.
  • Good job. I finished week 6 day 2 last night. the run walk intervals are over!
  • Did P90X shoulders & arms after work and after I got the kids to bed completed Week 6 Day 2. Yeah I am probably pushing it a little hard. pretty sure next week I am going to have to take Plyometrics out. running Tues, Plyo wed, running thurs is just too much on my knees. probably going to substitute in Core Synergistics…
  • I am pushing pretty hard. here is my schedule doing C25K and P90X Monday - kenpo X (Cardio exercise kicking and lunching) Tuesday - Chest & Back, C25K Day 1 Wednesday - plyometrics X (Cardio with jumping and higher impact stuff) Thursday - Shoulders & arms, C25K Day 2 Friday - rest or yoga Saturday - yoga or Legs & Back…
  • Completed week 6 Day 1 last night. Feeling good today, although used a little ice on the knee afterwards.
