Over 40, Fredericksburg, VA area Been pretty sedentary with a few fits and stops trying to get on the wagon of being healthy again. Got a goal to lose 40 lbs this year. Just into my 5th week of trying to get healthy. Been doing a modified P90X plan and have Week 3 Day 1 of C25K tonight. Have used knee pain as an excuse for…

Yeah, using MFP for planning is probably what is most valuable about it. Logging after you eat is ok, but you can't uneat what is already eaten. You can adjust your plan if something comes up. I am most successful when I plan my eating in advance. Seeing your plan could help people also.

Officially Thursday morning. If I am going to have a "bad" day it will most likely be Friday or Saturday. Actually I weigh myself everyday morning and night just because I am curious as to what is going on. Only been on this journey for a few weeks so like to see what is happening and how it goes up and down.

I know I will need to make more changes, but taking baby steps for now. Exercising every day and staying under my calories is enough to take on. I will continue to remove the processed foods and…

Started couch to 5k last night and didn't have nearly as much pain in the calves and shins. The shoes were about $120. What some people…

Doing the run walk last night, my mile time was about 20 seconds faster. Ran into a friend from church at Virgina runner yesterday and said they have a group that runs Sunday…

knwling what little I know from my visits with an orthopedist you have some issue going on and it should be checked out. The elliptical may be better for the knee in terms of shock as opposed tio running but the motion of the ellliptical could be exactly what you shouldn't be doing because of whatever issue you have.

I have used knee pain as an excuse for a while and am working through it. I am takin mega men joint, concentrating on core strengthening. Also check your shoes. I need a wide sole because of the way my feet turn in. The old shoes I was using was causing my weight to come over the side of the sole and putting extra strain…

Well one of the things that motivated me was someone at work looked great after a few months of P90X. He wasn't in bad shape to start with and was a retired Marine, but was really impressed with his results. So after I got it, I was like "uh oh, can I even do this?". This led to some of the starts and stops. I talked to my…
