  • So if I can't gain muscle at a calorie deficit, but I'm losing fat, then I should be losing weight. Unless I am just retaining water everyday....
  • No I am not breastfeeding. He is 10 weeks old. I have been exercising for 4 weeks. I was hoping for a pound a week loss.
  • Thanks, I will have to start weighing my food I think. I do use a HRM during exercise. I thought I was creating at least a 500 calorie deficit each day, but maybe I'm not...
  • I bought a BodyMedia arm band after I had my baby so I could figure out how much I burn in a 24 hour period without exercise. Turns out it's right around 2000 per day. So I quite wearing it after about 2 weeks. Now I just use my Polar Hear Rate Monitor while exercising and record my exercise using that. I would highly…
  • Hi! You can add me if you like. I am 35 and mother of 2 little kiddos. I craved sugar big time during pregnancy. So when I had my son 2 months ago, I gave up all simple carbs, no pasta, potatoes, flour, sugar, bread, etc. I switched to high protein and high fat. And honestly I haven't missed the carbs at all. Switching to…
  • 120 is too low for someone 5'7. 132 is probably your ideal weight. I am 5'3 and trying to get to 130.
  • Thanks. I started Jillian's Body Revolution, it's a 90 day program. It worked for me last year so I am doing it again. Had our second baby 7 weeks ago, so I need to get back into shape. I am enjoying the low carb. I eat alot of eggs, meat, salads, cheese. It has totally killed my appetite and cravings for anything sweet. I…
  • Wow, some of you have amazing results! I hope I can say the same in 12 weeks. I had a baby 7 weeks ago, and have a ton of baby weight to lose. I have been doing low carb for 2 weeks and am down 4 lbs so far. I have 25 lbs to go.

  • I hear ya. I get sick of meat and cheese too. Plus I think cheese has been keeping me from losing more to be honest, so I'm trying to eat less. Try eating more eggs, I usually have 2-3 for breakfast, whether I scramble them or hard boil. I've been eating a lot of salad. I usually do romaine, with a pouch of tuna or I grill…
  • I did BR last year. I wanted to lose 10lbs, but only lost 2 actual pounds in the 12 weeks. However I lost fat and gained muscle....really toned up. I just had baby #2 7 weeks ago, and started BR today. I have 25lbs to lose this time, and I would love to lose most of it in this 12 weeks. I am also doing a low carb diet.
  • Lack of cravings or appetite means it's working. I've been doing low carb for 2 weeks now and it has totally killed my appetite, as well as cravings for anything sweet. I eat about 20-30 net carbs a day. Mostly protein, fat, nuts, eggs, and a lot of salad. I have no urge to snack. I have also lost 4 lbs in those 2 weeks.…
  • Thanks, I am recording calories as well. I have a Body Media arm band. I am burning 2400 a day and eating around 1400. This should put me at about 2lbs lost a week, but I haven't lost anything in 5 days. Not sure why. I am drinking tons of water.
  • I would love to join you too. I just had our 2nd baby, a boy, 2 weeks ago. I gained 50lbs this pregnancy. I am down 23lbs, but still have a lot of work to do. I need to lose about 35lbs to get back to my pre-baby weight. I am 5'3 and currently weigh 163. Goal weight is 125-130.
  • I'm so glad my doctor's office scale is in KG, so I have no idea how much I weigh. I have weighed myself at home and I'm up 42lbs, which is nuts. I have 4 weeks to go. I gained 45lbs with my daughter, and was hoping for 35 or less this time around, HA. Doesn't seem to matter what I eat or dont' eat, I gain at least a pound…
  • I am going to start light walking right away, if the weather is nice outside. After my 6 week checkup, I will be starting Jillian Michaels Body Revolution again. I did it last year and I really toned up nice. Also my advice, wear an abdominal binder as soon as you get home from the hospital. It will help push out the…
  • I'm not having one either. I prefer the hospital setting, where I can get an epidural, and there are doctors around in case something goes wrong. My daugher's birth went so smoothly and my nurses were awesome. I'm not the type who thrives on pain. Numb me up...the end result of a healthy baby is all that matters to me! :)
  • I would buy some yoga or pilates dvd's and try those, or download them if you have a smart tv. Those should be fine to do while on pelvic rest. When I was put on it with my daughter, it just meant no sex or heavy lifting. Light exercise was fine. Do you have placenta previa? That's what I had....
  • I was working out quite a bit before getting pregnant with this one. I was doing Jillian Michaels and running twice a week. I was 10 lbs over my happy weight when I got my positive. I started out still going walking a few times a week, and used my elliptical occasionally. But honestly, I lost interest once I got to about…
  • At my 32 week ultrasound, they said baby boy was about 4 1/2 lbs. So I'm guessing he's close to 6lbs now. I will be 36 weeks on Sunday.....and so ready to be done!
  • I had every intention of exercising more this pregnancy, but once I got past 20 weeks I lost interest. I did some walking but nothing strenuous. Now at 34 weeks I get winded going up and down our steps. I am doing some light weights, but nothing that makes me get too out of breath. Chasing our toddler and cleaning the…
  • 35yrs old - 5'3" SW: 135 CW: 172 Total gained: 37lbs at 33 weeks. OOPS :noway: PS. I just bought myself a BodyMedia arm band which is helping me not go overboard with my food. My goal is to only gain pure baby weight these last 7 weeks.
  • I gained 45lbs with my daughter. Lost all but 10lbs of it. This one I am trying to stay under 40. My body just likes to gain weight with pregnancy I guess. I'm not beating myself up about it. I plan on heading to the gym as soon as I'm cleared to exercise.
  • Yes, I highly recommend! I was able to get mine on a few days after birth and I work it for over a month every day. It helps flatten your tummy and it provides support, because things feel very loose down there for a while. My tummy was flat (but jiggly of course) after just a few weeks of wearing it. This is the one I…
  • I had a normal delivery with my daughter and started exercising right at the 6 week mark. I felt good. If you start too early, you may notice you will bleed more after working out. That is why they stress to take it easy the first 6 weeks. Let your body heal and get back to normal. It may be longer if you have a c section.…
  • Thank you for that! I agree with your post, and that is what happened with my first baby. I gained 45lbs with her, but I was back within 15lbs of my prebaby weight after a just 2 months. I'm hoping the same will happen this time around.
  • We have Devyn Elizabeth who will be 2 next month. Our boy is due in March and he will be Ethan Daniel.
  • I am definitely the cow in the group. 5'3 SW: 135 CW: 168 at 31 weeks Total gained: 33 lbs Doesn't seem to matter what I do, I gain weight, I am even counting calories. Plus I clean my house and chase after my toddler. Just don't get it.
  • Wow, I don't know how you ladies have gained so little. I feel like a major cow right now. I am 5'3. Prepregnancy: 135 29 weeks: 164 Total gain: 29lbs!! :noway:
  • You can add me, I am 27 weeks, due 3/23 with #2.
